Favorite as in someone you think is great despite being a jerk and you ended up liking him? Or someone we love to hate?
In case of the latter, I'd say the younger brother from "Step Brothers" who makes his family sing "Sweet Child of Mine" and then puts his wife down for being flat on such and such measure or whatever. |

So some TV folks thought this was important enough to put on the air a couple days ago, it seems.
John Mayer's even dropping it into interviews: |

I'm back from Comic-Con. It's been pretty sweet 5 days of comics and other crazy stuff. Interviewed the Mythbusters, watched 9 minutes of the upcoming "Return of the Jedi" episode of "Family Guy," among other things.
In the meantime, I've been contributing to my friends geek reporting website. I dig it. |

If I could I'd go to Otakon and DragonCon, but I never have the time or money for them.
It's all right, we've got Anime Expo and Comic-Con here in Southern California. Either way, have fun, Xeios. Tell us how it goes! |

Well, this is why Switzer-France has the Large Hadron Collider -- to test out if crashing particles together would create the hypothetical Higgs-boson (aptly dubbed the "God particle") which is supposed to show how matter might seemingly be formed from nothing.
Scientists have proven that the radiation and dark matter floating around in space are the remaining pulses from the theorized Big Bang, backed with the fact that space is constantly changed temperature and so on. Now.. I am agnostic. I feel that arguing science vs. religion does nothing but make people upset and the energy spent on it could easily be better used to buying each other a drink and shooting the shit about something else. I recently went to a presentation about the progress of our ideas of the universe -- how we thought it was just us with the sun and the moon revolving around us and so on and going all the way to realizing that the universe is bigger than we, here in our Goldilocks Zone, could comprehend. I damn near cried when he ended on the note that "we are all made of stardust" and we're looking to explore the universe "because we just want to go home." |

OK, first and foremost: DO NOT KILL YOURSELF. Everything might seem like it's turned to shit, but things DO get better. Just like they can get worse. That's life. It ebbs and flows, but time heals. I swear it does.
Someday you'll have a girlfriend, maybe even a wife, and you'll be happy and you'll smirk when you look back on how sad you thought you were. Love is a shifty mistress. She likes to come along and stab you in the chest and leave you right after she made you feel 10 stories tall and on top of the world. Just think, though, something that made you this sad must have made you really happy at one time and you WILL be that happy again (most likely with another person). We love you and we want the best for you, Valhalla. Secondly, women sometimes just flock to douches and it can't be helped. For some reason, our species likes being around people who act like they don't need them. That's why we have bullshit rules about not calling people to soon, not saying "I love you" until such-and-such time, and to avoid being clingy, and so on. It's why a lot of nice guys become assholes, which is horrifyingly tragic. Now, you've only met this girl over the past month and she's LIVING with you? It's great that you're bonding with her son and all, but you really need to remove either her or you from this situation. Whatever bullshit that's going down between her and her boyfriend is their business and it seems like she's involving you in a situation that you do not deserve to be destroyed by. Explain to her that what she's doing is not fair to you and that if she's going to continue to treat you like she is (I mean, she's living with you and is on the verge of not speaking to you? WTF?) she needs to leave. All this is doing is hurting you and that, my friend, is not fair. |

That's extremely hard to choose. Maybe the first time I experienced a multiple orgasm. Maybe one of the many road trips I've taken to either Arizona or San Francisco. There've also been tons of "OMG! This is the BEST DAY EVER!!!" moments at conventions.
Yeah, I think I'll just go with the realization that someone could give me a long succession of mind-blowing fits of ecstasy. What celebrity has written a book about themselves (or claims to, and probably hired a ghostwriter) that you wish you could stab in the eye? |

I'm always so terrible at voting. I tend to go in, stare at the screen, have a nervous breakdown over my inability to choose one person over another for titles, and then sob over a bucket of chicken about it later.
So yeah, I'm not sure if I'll vote this time about either. |

I think we've had a thread like this, but since it's been unstickied and hasn't been posted in for quite some time, this thread can stay.
Aside from the clacking of keyboard thingamajiggers and the sound of a cat snore-purring next to me who occasionally wakes up to lick her asshole, I've got on Elivis' greatest hits. Right now it's on "Can't Help Falling in Love With You." |

"Kung Fu Hustle." If I ever really had to choose a favorite movie it would be that, in Cantonese (not the crappy English dub), of course.
Other than advertising and fliers, what's the last thing you got in the mail? |

What was the last...
...thing you ate? - A LOT of pizza. All you can eat pizza, brownies, cinnamon rolls, soup, and salad for $5 -- there's no real beating that, especially after a 5-day marathon convention. ...person you talked to on the phone? - Gina. ...person you e-mailed/private messaged? - A press person from Comedy Central. ...person you hugged? - Lee. ...person you kissed? - Brandon. ...time you laughed? - A few minutes ago over the fact that this company that caters to nerd types sells a shirt that goes up to size XXXXXX-Large. OK, strike that, while taking a break from posting laughed my ass off to someone's video of Fight Club if it were done in Jane Austen's time. ...time you cried? - Not entirely sure actually. I almost felt like it a couple days ago. ...movie you watched? - "20th Century Boys" at Anime Expo. I might go see "Jonah Hex" later today. ...DVD you watched? - A Spike and Mike Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation DVD. ...video tape you watched? - "The Graduate." ...song you listened to? - Tomoyasu Hotei - "Battle Without Honor Or Humanity," since it was in the Jane Austen video mentioned above. ...book you finished? - Time Lincoln. But just the first two issues that are out. Since it'll probably become a trade paperback and I've read all the issues, though: "Groo: Hogs of Horder." Otherwise, "Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour." ...heart-to-heart you had with someone? - Not sure, probably Brandon. ...person you met? - This guy who stood in line ahead of us for Mythbusters. He was really cool to talk to. Never caught his name, though. ...person who died in your life? - Bob, one of my dad's clients who's been a long time friend. Bob was a great guy, and I don't remember a time in my life when I didn't know who he was. He was a Japanese nisei, and was interned in a camp as a little boy which made him very distrustful of the government since he was a little boy at the time and his family lost everything during the years they spent in the camp. Poor Bob. ...new food you tried? - Mochi from this 100-year-old place. ...new thing you tried (event, action)? - Went to the midnight release for a book, I guess. Ran into people from school, hung out and talked comics for a few hours with people while enjoying a whole lot of free beer. ...time you went around the house in just your underwear? - Last night. Pants chafed and didn't have pajama pants. ...time you weren't fully sober? - Damon's farewell party. Lots and lots of shots of rum. ...you "geeked" out? - This whole past weekend... the biggest geek out in the world, practically. The most recent, or last thing, was probably the spotlight panel for Matt Fraction. Bill Hader came up on stage after Matt's speech and they chatted it up. Funniest shit that day. ...thing you read in the bathroom? - Probably a graphic novel, but I don't remember what title. ...bargain you made? - In the last hour of Day 2 at the con, with $15, I picked up 3 DVDs and 2 graphic novel anthologies. ...thing you planned? - I'm looking over how this coming Saturday is going to be since so many friends keep scheduling their insanity for it. ...award you won? - I won like 7 awards for the Daily Titan at our end of the year banquet back in May -- mostly for having articles with the most reads and being the Most Versatile Journalist and junk. ...piece of toast you had? - Do extra toasted buns on my In-N-Out Double Double count? Then that. ...present you gave? - I'm about to send a bunch of stuff to one of my friends down in San Diego, because she lost a bunch of fulfillment tickets for the free stuff they were supposed to get after panels and I still had mine. ...porno you saw? - Really can't remember. ...song you sang in the shower? - Still N/A. ...song you had stuck in your head? - Sweet Caroline. Frickin' guy at that tavern in Old Town who couldn't play covers for shit got it successfully lodged in there. ...thing you marked on your calendar? - First day of classes coming up. ...errand you ran? - Buying water and granola bars before heading into the convention. ...drink you had? - Coke. ...cool thing you found? - Cheap comics. ...time you brushed your hair? - Yesterday before ironing it. ...person you talked to over AIM, YIM, etc? - Greg, same at the last post since I don't recall using a messaging system since. ...thing you bought? - A shitload of comics and graphic novels. ...game you played? - The Scott Pilgrim demo. ...new place you visited? - Cici's pizza in San Diego. ...thing you celebrated? - Independence Day, I suppose. ...dream you had? - Cannot remember. It's actually been a week or so since the last time I dreamed. ...thing you dressed up for (costume/formal/etc)? - End of the year party for the paper. ...website you visited outside of the board? - Facebook... EDIT: Shit, forgot to answer one. (Last edited by Rogue on 07-28-10 01:53 AM) |

Really? You don't even like "Viva Las Vegas" or "Burning Love"? The remix of "A Little Less Conversation" isn't all that bad.
Anyway, I was listening to some pirate folk now. Big squid... oh shit. |

I'm gonna go with the one where they fight DC characters. I'm not all that familiar with Mortal Kombat, but anything that has someone kicking the shit out of Superman is OK by me.
Would you rather be crucified Japanese or Roman style? |

Pretty much post when you see something, new or old. This thread will give you a place to discuss recent things you've seen, especially if there isn't a thread for it yet.
I just got back from watching "Jonah Hex" in the cheap theater. It's really no shock as to why it bombed in the box office. It just... wasn't good. Even terrible movies have something that makes them bearable or redeems them in some way. Not so with this flick. It was like watching an even more simplistic and dumbed down "Wild Wild West." What made it worse was the fact that the print of the film that we got had a line running down every frame of the film. It was really distracting, moreso than the people who brought their screaming kids to a 10 p.m. screening. So what have you gone to see lately? |

Hmmm, then Sparda. I miss Sparda. My god, he'd be in his 20s by now.
*Checks* Ah, he's 20. This board's been around a while. I think he was 15 when I met him. |

Do you have Adult ADHD? Find out taking this survey!
LINK!! A score of 11 or more MAY indicate you have ADHD:
OK, seriously... who here can get a score lower than 11? I definitely didn't. I think it would be a bigger indication of Adult ADHD if you couldn't even do the survey to begin with. I mean, having to keep track of your score yourself? Bullshit. Honestly, I don't believe in ADD/ADHD. I think it's a trend diagnosis that has been adding to an overmedicated America. |

So there are rumors that there might be a short season or TV movie to tie everything up.
Originally posted by Tim Kring Source: http://marquee.blogs.cnn.com/2010/07/26/an-ending-to-heroes/ I dunno. Claire kinda dropped a big bombshell on the rest of the cast with the ending to last season. Could it really be tied up in a handful of episodes? I hope Claire gets killed off in them in the worst way possible. |

Originally posted by Cairoi Ali Larter would somehow be fit in somewhere as well, I'm sure. Jeez, I remember the very first time I was ever around the show's writers, they bragged that they were the only show with the balls to kill off main/beloved characters and such. Yeah, Niki/Jessica's gone, but now you've got this shitty clone storyline that sort of fell off. If they do this mini-series, I want Monica in it. I still can't get over the fact that Micah was supposed to be Rebel. It should have been Wireless. |
