I have 5 daughters and 3 sons. I'm not even going to bother asking if the niece and nephew thing count. I love them with all my heart and we have all been very much part of one another's lives since we were born. I'm not their babysitter, and I never was. My sisters don't refer to it as babysitting either (when we're really thinking about what we're saying that is). Being that we all live in areas where everyone knows each other's family to their mother's cousin twice removed, no one asks questions when I show up at the parent/teacher meetings, or when I'm the one showing up to pick them up if they're being sent home sick, or even if one of them got suspended for something. (My niece Nicole is JUST like me sometimes it's scary....only she doesn't know how to keep her ass outta trouble with the teachers when it comes to fighting  ) Hell, just like any other parent would, I've spent nights upon nights with them while they're teething and up crying at night, or when they're sick and have an ear infection and the pain is keeping them awake...getting hardly any sleep, only to have to get up and move on with my other responsibilities(such as school, and just generally keeping the house in order). I've dealt with the spit up, bumps and scrapes, hanging pictures on my refridgerator...reading to them(and I even sing for them...only them. :p) before they go to bed at night, only to have them get all excited to read something to me once they knew how...
I'm also extremely close to my little sisters. I treat the babies the same way I do my nieces and nephews (when I get to see them that is) and I try my best to look after my other two little sisters. I never realized what kind of an impact I had on them...'til my sister's mom showed me the speech one of my sisters wrote for her 8th grade graduation this year...she had to write the dedication to the parents and stuff, and she cited some personal experiences in the speech and I was in a large chunk of it. I cry when they worry me, laugh when they're funny, chase the monsters from their closet, they're not afraid to tell me they love me in front of their friends, I get defensive of them and God help the one who ever hurts them(That statement has been proven to be more than an idle threat on more than one occasion)...so yeah... Sorry for the long postage, but this is a subject that means a great deal to me. I haven't even begun how to express how I feel about them...I don't think I could put it all to words anyway...Point is, I may not be their mother, but I love them so much and I'm very proud of them.
Oh, and I do want children of my own someday btw... Lots of them. *cough** |

| I have three cats.
Tabitha(Tabby) Pepper and Babe Tabby is so frigging awesome. The only nickname I have for her is "Diana" because of the moonie I am inside, and she's a pale gray and even though she's 3, she's tiny.  She's like a dog. Sits on my command, fetches, attacks...you name it.
Pepper...my gram calls her "baby" a lot. I call her a lot of choice words of my own...she's a bitch. Attacks me all the time...I have no clue why she hates me though. We're thinking it's because one of my sister's kicked her and was wearing a pair of my slippers...cuz Pepper only attacks me and things with my scent on it. **shrugs** Then there's Babe...he'll come to anything. I don't really like him. He gets hair all over the place and he doesn't do anything. He was my uncle Richie's cat, and he named him Babe when I was in like the 3rd grade cuz I hated my last name at the time, so he gave his cat my last name just to piss me off. *shrugs** Then RIchie moved into an apartment back when I was in 8th grade and couldn't have the cat, so he gave him to us. |

| I agree with a lot of you on these things. Like Elara said, PDAs kinda piss me off too. It's one thing when a someone kisses their boyfriend/girlfriend on the cheek or something. That's actually kinda sweet. A girl in Orchestra plays basketball as well. She said her boyfriend kisses her on the cheek and tells her that she'll do great before every one of her games, and he does it in front of everyone. That's sweet...'least I think. But other than that...tone it down goddamn it!!!
As far as the issue on grades...people who bitch about their grades and whatnot...that aggrivates me too...but I am also VERY guilty of that. I'm not going to deny that and I'm not going to deny that I aggrivate myself when I do that. But there's a bit of a difference. I was pissed about Physics...kids got high 90's when they didn't do hardly any of the work. However the work they actually DID do, I'm guessing they did well on. I worked my ass off. I went to my teacher after school, during my lunch, and study hall for help. I handed everything in, studied...all that stuff and only got an 87...which I'm guessing would be the equivilent of a B? That's a bit discouraging when you only get a B after putting all of that effort into it, while the one who sat behind you and bragged about how they don't care about that class managed to pull an A outta their ass. So yes, I am very anal about my grades, and if they aren't perfect, I am among those who complain about them. I agree with what Chrissy said for the most part...there are people in our school like that...but then again there are people who are like how teh Boss said (damn you and your name changes **shakes fist**) in our school too. Like I've met football players who are the "typical" footbal players...and then there are some who are not. Same goes with all of the sterio-types actually. I've met a "nerd" who was a total dickhead...and usually aren't they the nice quiet types? (<---as far as sterio-typing is concerned?) |

But...if it's possible, I really would like to see the archive up there...but on the flipside, Syntax's comment caught my attention...if it's almost like duplicating this board now, then I guess there'd be no point. I mean I personally got excited over seeing all of the old stuff. Everything here is still fresh in our minds and still going on. |

Well...My Aunt Paula's is the ideal place to have Thanksgiving. My immediate family alone if ginormous...and then there's the other people. Her home and the property around it is REALLY big...and pretty too. But not everyone can get to there this year. Besides...the memories from last Thanksgiving...**shudders**
So..my grammy and I are going up to my Aunt Mary's. I get to see my two cousins who I used to be close to, but now it's like we don't know each other. I don't know who else is gonna be there, but my Uncle Bob kicks ass, so it'll still be fun. |
