| I personally really loved the LOTR movies... and I do not find them boring at all, but I am a big D&D nerd so that is me.
Star Trek... at least watch the movies. If you dad is a huge fan then you probably would know who most of the cast is in each series so you don't need much intro. At the very least, see Wrath of Khan. Star Wars... that one is honestly the shocker to me because I would have pegged you for a fan. Ignore the prequels, just watch the original three and you are good. And for the record, no, you are not a bad person... just deprived. |

| ((Yeah, I created my own worst enemy))
*Jade moved her wings experimentally. The pain was excruciating, but they seemed to be working. She pumped them a few times, sending a breeze towards Phoenix* "I think you need to cool off a bit...." *Jade began chanting something softly in a melodic language, the tongue of Elves. As she did so, she flapped her wings enough to get her airborne. She continued to rise in the air, hovering once she reached 50 feet. Slowly the echoing of a chant could be heard from above, her voice speaking words in Elven and the air becoming crisp and cold with the power she drew upon* "Maeg ar' ringwe yelamin lle, coria gurtha." (Sharp and cold I call you, violet death.) *The ground began to frost over slightly, and deep beneath the surface a tremor began. Jade remained focused on her chanting repeating the words over and over, her flaming sword in her hands, held tight against her chest. As moments passed the ground near the surface began to shake as well. The surrounding air now was becoming bitter cold, yet Jade seemed unaffected though she wore only scant barbarian leather and fur. Droplets of blood froze and shattered before they hit the ground. She smiled wickedly as she continued... grateful in moments like these that she had learned to cast spells in Elven, seeing as most people did not understand the language at all, let alone know it existed* |

| @geeogree: you know I don't hate all Christians so step off your high horse. I just hate the morons that do shit like this. Can you honestly say you agree with their actions? Yes, they are the loudest group, but that doesn't make them right, and to say nothing let's them live in the delusion that we agree so why don't the moderates get a bit louder in condeming actions like this so they stop?

| *Jade's smile deepened as she watched. She began to beat her demonic wings hard, rising and falling five feet with every flap. The chaotic energy surrounding her caused the wind generated by the flapping to swirl into a gale-force wind that headed straight towards Phoenix in hopes of knocking him backwards, as well as sending Jade backwards a good 15 feet. Jade's expression of joy deepened as she cried out the final line of her spell*
"Yala'amin Coriakhelek!" (I summon Purple Ice!) *The shaking ground below cracked and exploded as massive shards of violet-colored ice shot forth from the earth, jutting into the air at a fast rate and impaling many of the ancient stones and trees. The spikes of ice starting at needle-sharp tips and going to as thick as a large tree trunk at it's base* Purple Ice- Jagged spikes of translucent purple ice jut from the ground in a 50 ft radius of the opponent. The ice freezes fire on contact, so Jade is usually in the air when she uses this to protect her sword. They rise to 20 feet in the air, and sprout out in such thick concentration that it is nearly impossible to get out of them or navigate through them. Jade has done so only once. Whirlwind- Jade can spring into the air and use her wings and Chaos energy to create a powerful gale force windstorm that can knock any opponent to their feet. Ok, finally time to post a judgement....

Grammar: 9 Good as always. Spelling: 10 
Plot: 9 Nice, simple... went a little bit fast. Characters: 8 I honestly love the priest's character. He seems far more developed than the main character, and his dialogue seems far more natural. A lot of the convict's dialogue seemed forced and artificial. His mental narration though was very good. Description: 8 The repetitiveness of the grey walls I felt was a nice touch for a prison. The only thing more that would have been nice was a description of the convict and the priest themselves. Creativity: 8 You made a bold choice, in my opinion. In some ways the redemption of the death row inmate has been done, but usually not for a short story piece. Plus I do like the way you did it. Overall: 52 Overall, a very good effort and a good read. After a bit of confusion, I think I will make an amendment that for those who have not submitted their stories... what you submit should be your final draft. Vulkar is being allowed to edit his because of that misunderstanding, but for the rest of you since you have the time, make sure what you post is what you want it to be so that we can save further hassle in judging. |
