Laying down and watching "Back to the Future Part 3." My favorite part, and frankly one of my top favorite movies. | |||

As I re-watch the video again for the perhaps the tenth or eleventh time, and she gets in the car just before the beer bottle-throwing segment, it actually seemed like she'd given up, maybe calmed down even.
And then you see her get out and throw the bottle, and further punch the now punctured window. OK, fine, you threw your hissy fit, now get in your car and drive while they're calling the cops. What's this, you want to further incur insult to injury and embarrass yourself even more? Well isn't this just special. I'm trying to rationalize why not getting McNuggets is such a big deal for her other than the likelihood that she's drunk or drug-addled. Maybe she has a kid at home who won't eat anything other than McNuggets? I mean, the friends I have who've got kids go to great lengths to make sure their kids are happy and won't cry and scream over not getting something they want to eat. So maybe... you know... nah, she's just an immature woman with an open alcoholic container in the car. |

So I says to Brandon, I says, "What song describes our relationship?"
"I don't know!" "Pick one!" "Uh.. uh... Duck Tales!!" "D'oh. I already used that one. Pick another!!" "Uh.. Wild Wild West!!!" "What? Why?" "I dunno. Because we like the wild, wild west?" So there you go. From out of the mouths of babes. Because we love Arizona, the history of the wild west, shows about it, westerns, etc, we're a Will Smith song for a crappy movie. Well, at least there was steampunk involved. |

When I started collecting "Battle Royale" nearly 10 years ago, there was a page where the teacher that's putting all the kids through the program is raping the woman who ran the orphanage Shuya and Nobu came from.
Despite most of the series being people graphically killing each other that page was the most disturbing to me. |

I don't think I have one. I don't really go to monster movies. Maybe Rocky from "Rocky Horror Picture Show," even though he's not really a monster. He was just something created in a lab like Frankenstein.
There's no food in the house and you've only got $4 in change, where would you go to eat and what would you get? |

Get a free rumscicle at Cuba Libre Restaurant and Rum Bar in Philadelphia. Hmm... not much happening in Bristol.
Usually I just look things up online, go hiking, or head down to some cafe or something to read. Have fun? Do you smile for yearbook or driver's license photos? |

Got to hang out with my friend in from out of town last night. We got our usual Korean tacos for dinner and headed out to the Sunset strip for a pirate rock show.
I start classes in a week. Goody... That author called me saying he'd love to do the interview. Excited. Heading out right now to watch Shakespeare in the park with some friends. |

Too many people like music by/about drunk, coke whores. Favorite Band/Artist - Flogging Molly. But I've been listening to a lot of other things I REALLY love lately. Worst Band/Artist - Ke$ha. No actual singing ability, and got famous off a song that's basically an auto-tuned piece of shit that the young'uns who persist in having a MySpace keep playing over and over again. Favorite Season of the Year - Autumn, with Spring in a VERY close second. Worst Season - Normally I would choose Summer for the heat, but it's been really mild this year. Summer's also Con Season. How Long Have You Been Together? - 6 and half years. If You're Single, Do you Like It? - N/A. Do You Have a Crush On Anyone Right Now? - N/A. First Kiss - Holy shit, what was his name? First Love - Nelson, although as I look back on that relationship, what I felt was not love. Have you ever Cheated on Anyone? - I kissed another guy while I was with Nelson. He knows. Do you Flirt a Lot? - Not that I'm aware. Seems like whenever I talk to guys it's about comics and other stuff. If they get turned on by that, that's their business. Longest Relationship - 6 and half years. Shortest - A month. Have you Ever Gotten a Poem? - Yes. Ever Get Flowers? - Yes. Sweetest Thing You've Ever Gotten - A rose from a 6-year-old. Do you Believe in Love at First Sight? - I've never experienced it, but it's possible. Do you Fall in Love Fast? - Not really. I can't be with a guy who currently does drugs. Can you drive? - Yes. Do You Have a Car? - I have access to a couple, but none that are officially mine yet. Do you have a cell phone? - Yes. Are you online a lot? - When I'm at home, I'm probably online. Do you like gay/bi people? - I'm a designated fag hag if that tells you anything. Can you speak another language? - No. Do you do well in school? - Reasonably. Do you collect anything? - Comics, convention badges, different sorts of movies, pictures I've taken of odd or amusing things, and fond memories. Have an obsession? - Pick anything out of the answer to the previous question. I obsess over conventions, roadside attractions, Renaissance faires, getting to interview interesting people, going to new places and trying to new things. Do you hate yourself? - I like the idea of me. Ever smile for no reason? - YES. Constantly. Talk to yourself? - Not as often as I used to. Do you have any regrets? - There are some things I wish I'd done or said differently. Nothing that I sit up at night praying for access to a time machine so I could fix, though. Believe in magick? - I'm agnostic and have MANY pagan friends. I believe in empowering one's self through one from or another and if magick makes others feel as such and it's not harming others, why not? Do you support gay marriage? - Yes. Sex before marriage? - Yes. Do you trust people easily? - No. Forgive easily? - I forgive, but it takes time to mend. Do you have a secret no one knows? - Maybe... I actually don't know what people do or don't know about me any more. Do you get along with your parents? - Yes. What about other people? - For the most part. How do you vent your anger? - Talking it out with Brandon. Do you like George Bush? - Herbert Walker or just Walker? I'm not entirely fond of the Bush clan. Goal Before you die? - Travel A LOT. What do you want to be when you grow up? - Me. But even more eclectic. PERSONALITY TRAITS - Are you... A bitch? - I've dabbled in it. A daydreamer? - Reality is for chumps. Shy? - Yes. Talkative? - If I'm familiar with you and feel comfortable, yes. If you're a complete stranger but you want to talk comics or something and you're a decent droog, then yes as well. Energic? - Sometimes. Happy? - Often. Depressed? - Once in a while. Funny? - Now that all depends on your sense of humor, doesn't it? Slutty? - Nope. Boring? - Just like "Funny?" it all depends on your perceptions of me. Mean? - Not intentionally. Nice? - Not intentionally. Caring? - Yeah, I suppose. Trustworthy? - You can trust me with something, if that's what you're getting at. Confident? - Not always. Friendly? - I suppose. Smart? - Relatively. Sarcastic? - Definitely. Dependable? - For the most part. Quiet? - Usually. Weird? - So I've been told. Adaptable? - Yes? There were literally over 60 more questions like this going "Nosy?" "Sympathetic?" "Strong?" "Good?" etc. I figure no one really wants to answer that many yes/no questions about what they think they think they are. |

Bought my ticket for this con in Arizona next year.
Need to figure out what to do for my internship in the spring. Next year's gonna rock. In other news, walked around in some bear caves and watched some more Shakespeare while coyotes howled. I love L.A. |

SOURCE I really don't know what to say. I'm seriously having trouble understanding how anyone can be this stupid and arrogant about it enough to sue the victims saying the woman she hit "negligently operated her vehicle," saying that even though she was driving the wrong way with intent to crash (and die) it's the woman's fault for not swerving. I hope her conscience is killing her, and that her dreams are plagued with their deaths. Their blood is on her hands, and she has the nerve to try to sue to appear innocent. |

So Scott Pilgrim closed in 5th place for the box office this weekend, covering the U.S. and Canada.
Expendables -- $34.8 million Eat, Pray, Love -- $23.1 million The Other Guys -- $17.4 million Inception -- $11.3 million Scott Pilgrim vs. the World -- $10.6 million I'm surprised and not, at the same time. I think I'm more shocked that "Eat, Pray, Love" still did so well. I mean, how many chicks really want to see Julia Roberts travel around the world and find inner peace for a year? Go rent "Under the Tuscan Sun" for the billionth time and sob over a log of cookie dough. If I weren't so broke I'd be out watching Scott Pilgrim on a continuous loop. |

I suppose I'm not surprised so much as disappointed in the fact that this person won't take personal responsibility for her own stupid shit.
The attention whore failed at her suicide mission. Someone leave her alone in a room with a sharp object and see what happens. Bet you she won't off herself. |

Go, Phoenix.
This week's going to be pretty mellow. Just reading and hanging out until school starts on Monday. Might end up in Bakersfield for no apparent reason, though. |

Honestly, the appeal in "The Expendables" is the novelty of seeing that many action stars in one film.
When "Forbidden Kingdom" came out, I was first seduced by the idea of seeing a fight scene between Jackie Chan and Jet Li with fight choreography by Woo-ping Yuen. It wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't a great film either. Still it was the first and only time you could see such a thing. Great stuff: |

The Haunting. Scared the shit out of me for a week just thinking back on it. It was the pictures and things in it that were just so profoundly frightening when I was 14.
Favorite film that's not in English? |
