- Went on a cruise, got my BA, worked for the Census, moved across the country, helped create a world for a LARP 2. Did you keep your new years resolution from this year, and will you make one for next year? - Partly, I got an A in my last class but failed on the losing weight. 3. Did anyone close to you give birth? - Not anyone that I am close to, but people I know. 4. Did anyone close to you die? - Nope 5. Where did you travel to in 2010? - Mexico, Catalina Island, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania (my new home). 6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010? - Well, I already have a few things I lacked (omg dishwasher!)... um, better fitting clothes and maybe a new car? 7. What dates from 2010 will you have etched in your memory, and why? - Graduation day and the night Ben proposed to me. They are really good memories. 8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? - Hmm... well, I got my BA, and I drove cross-country without crashing the car. 9. What was your biggest failure? - Not going to the gym when I could and letting myself stress out too easily. 10. Did you suffer injury or illness? - Yeah, but that is a typical thing... bad back and lots of colds. 11. What was the best thing you bought? - Hmm, that is a tough one... really cool witch hat? 12. Whose behavior merited celebration? - Uh... good question. Family and friends that made me feel appreciated and like I would be missed after the move. 13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? - Ben's soon-to-be ex-stepdad (Bill)... eight years of leeching off his wife then asks for divorce and makes it clear that all he wants is money so he doesn't have to work. Politicians and media saying dumb shit (Glen Beck, Palin, etc), friends that didn't life a finger to do things they said they would to help while we were packing. 14. Where did most of your money go? - Moving and food 15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? - Graduation, engagement, cruise, moving, being able to watch Penguins games 16. How did you spend: Halloween? - Went on a cruise, wandered around a ship dressed as a witch. Thanksgiving? - Dinner with Ben's family on the day of, and with my family the day after Christmas? - Arrived in Slippery Rock at 3:30ish am on Christmas Eve, spent most of that day and the next sleeping... didn't really feel like Christmas even with the snow. 21. Did you fall in love in 2010? - Nope 22. What was your favorite TV show? - Dexter and House, as always 23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? - Bill, disliked him before but hate now. 24. What was the best book you read? - Complete HP Lovecraft, awesomeness. 25. What was your greatest musical discovery? - Uh... Axis of Awesome? 26. What did you want and get? - A degree and a ring, Mass Effect 2, Fable 3, and a new home 27. What did you want and not get? - New car (the rebuilt the old one, still troubles). 28. What was your favorite film of this year? - Don't really have one 29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? - Had some friends and family over to my parents for a party, and I turned 26. 30. What is one thing that would have made your year more satisfying? - If we could have come out east earlier like originally planned, it was so stressful. 31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept of 2010? - Jeans and t-shirts, same as every year. 32. What kept you sane? - Books, and Ben (when he wasn't causing the insanity, lol) 33. What celebrity/Public figure did you fancy the most? - Evgeni Malkin... more for his ability than his looks. 34. What political issue stirred you the most? - Education costs, health care reform, gay marriage, idiots like WBC and the Tea Party movement and the shit they say 35. Who do you miss? - Everyone from California. 36. Did you reconnect with anyone? - Not really, no. 37. | On Saturday, January 8, 2011, Jared Loughner opened fire at a political gathering outside of a Safeway in Tucson, AZ leaving 14 wounded and 6 dead. Among the dead are a Federal Judge and a 9 year old girl, and among the wounded is the main target, Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. She was shot in the head, and while in stable condition doctors are still assessing the damage, though signs are hopeful.

There is a lot of discussion of the role of violent rhetoric being used in politics, particularly on the right (like Palin's infamous cross-hairs map). Do you think this had a factor? Loughner was apparently a anti-government conspiricy nutcase with severe mental problems, so it is probable that such talk could have gotten to him. Then again, so could movies where the "heroes" kill a bunch of people to thwart a conspiracy and save the country... to you and me it is fiction and entertainment... but to a mentally ill person? UPDATE!!! So, in true disgusting fashion, the pariahs at Westboro Baptist Church are planning to picket the funerals of the victims, starting with the funeral of the 9 year old girl. Numerous groups in Tucson are planning to line the funeral route to keep WBC away from the mourners, including the local Republican Party. Furthermore, Arizona is now looking at passing legislation to make it a misdemeanor to protest funerals. I applaud this and hope that all states follow suit. Fuck you PennDOT guy for being such a dick when I called with a question. Not only did you treat me like I knew nothing, when I proved that I did know what I was talking about you continued to give me attitude. If it wasn't so much cheaper to register my car here I would say fuck you all and keep my California plates. Also, fuck you PennDOT for having such stupid requirements for getting your license transferred. Fuck you Armstrong Cable for having a monopoly in this area. Verizon FiOS is cheaper and WAY better, but you won't let them run cable on your poles, so we have to pay $150 a month for shitty cable tv that isn't even in HD and has the most basic cable channels. Phone is okay, and I am satisfied with the quality of the internet but I have severe issues with you charging $5/month extra for wireless on top of having to buy the wireless modem in the first place. Your customer service doesn't understand even the basics of the products they are selling and your website is the most uninformative site I have ever seen. So fuck you guys, in the ass, with a rusty stake. GIVE ME MY FiOS!!! |

Fox Article Astrology got a shake-up today when it was announced that the moon has altered the earth's tilt and changed what constellation the sun is in by almost a month. On top of that, there is debate of finally including the 13th sign of the zodiac, Ophiuchus, even though this would cut Scorpio to a six day window. I believe that this takes effect as of this year, I do not know how long it has really been off, since as you can see from the articles there is an interpretative disagreement. The one thing that I do think is really stupid though is that the only reason that girl was there was because she was born on 9/11, and so she got paraded around at political events. If politicians didn't do shit like that then she would still be alive, and that is truly tragic to me. |

I would write her a formal letter and mail it. Explain that you love her and were trying to reach out to her...again... for her wisdom and advice on an extremely important matter, then remind her of what she did. Don't be accusatory, just state facts. She was mad at your sister and she redirected that anger at you, which was undeserved and unappreciated. Point out that this is not the first time, perhaps site examples, and state that this was the final straw and that you are tired of taking the abuse generated by her frustrations at your sister, your father, or anyone else. Let her know that if she regrets her actions and wishes to save her relationship with you that your door is open and you are willing to hear her; but until that day you will not be contacting her again. The ball is in her court now, it is up to her to determine how much your relationship means to her. Sign in "love always, your daughter Sarah." Be logical, do not use any accusatory language at all because that will make her defensive. If you do it right, you will hopefully wake her up and shame her. What is important is that she needs to know that you are stronger and more mature than her, and that you will not be treated that way. I found it works well with insane family members, and I wish you luck with it. No matter what, stick to your guns and do not contact her unless she contacts you, unless it is an emergency... a really big emergency.
