The Danbo figure from Yotsuba! Specifically the amazon box version. I want to get it for Ben as a birthday gift since I couldn't get it for an anniversary present... the only way I could find one online and not pay a fortune was via Japanese Amazon and I could not figure out how to do anything since I cannot read the language to save my life. |

Brief synopsis of above link: They are adding things like "LOL", "Wags", "Dot-bomb" and "<3" to the OED. Do you think that this is a honest portrayal of the evolution of the language, or is allowing such internet terms into the definitive lexicon of the English language only permitting its degradation? I don't think that many of these terms should be allowed legitimacy that the OED gives them... I mean, would you allow such colloquialisms in an essay for an English class? Now, this is not to say that I disagree with every change they have made that is listed in that link. I think the addition of cultural food names is good, as is the addition of the Aboriginal name for the didgeridoo. Those things make since... things like BFF and fnarr fnarr do not. I don't really have guilty pleasures in the entertainment department... just in the drinking soda again department. Well... I suppose watching the Twilight saga might count... but that was with Rifftrax so I think that negates it and all the other horrible films I have seen lately (The Room... omg, it was SO bad!)

But yeah, it seems more and more than on the job training doesn't matter for shit. You could have done a job for over a decade, been amazing at it and had perfect references, and they will still hire a grad fresh out of school over you because they have a degree. On the flip side, a lot of other jobs seem to expect you to have both... and how do you get the experience if no one will hire you because you don't have experience?
