Boston vs Philly - Um... well... given past history, I am saying Boston in a hard fought seven. Sharks vs Red Wings - Sharks in seven. Honestly, as long as Detroit goes down I don't care if I get the number of games right. With the Pens and the Kings out, the Sharks are my team. Vancouver vs Nashville - More than likely, Vancouver in six. I would like to see Nashville get it to spite the NHL, but I am more pragmatic than that. |

| I look at it this way, people see signs of the apocalypse all the time. Natural disasters like earthquakes tend to trigger more earthquakes along the same fault... so when there is a big one like in Japan followed by a lot of smaller ones (still strong, but smaller) everyone freaks out and they call it the end of the world.
The Black Death swept through Europe in the 13th century at the same time that we were going through a small ice age. There was famine because it was too cold for most crops to grow all the way til harvest (Famine), then the plague hit and people were dropping dead left and right (Pestilence), this caused a lot of land to become available because a whole lot of landowners died--which of course caused a lot of fighting over said land (War)... and with those three things going on at the same time, well, mentioning Death is redundant. So the people of 13th Century Europe basically saw the Four Horsemen all around them and were utterly convinced that the world was ending right before their eyes.... ... And yet here we are eight centuries later. |
