I played a few levels of Dante's Inferno today on my boyfriend's brother's X-Box 360.

I'm surprised Sony didn't sue for the gameplay likenesses to the God of War franchise. Anyway, it's a fun game. Sadly, my boyfriend's dad kept talking while I was trying to play so I missed a lot of the little details. Still I'm amused that they made his love interest Beatrice. In the Divine Comedy, Beatrice was more of this cold angel he needed to find to guide him through Hell.

I figure, so long as I don't post anything stupid online I should be safe. Still, like I said on Facebook, I'm amused by all the inaccuracies -- it says I'm married, that I have a brother named Charles in his mid-20s, and it has a picture of my neighbor's house and lists my phone number as one that only really gets used for the fax machine if it gets used at all.

I just got off the phone with my employer for my internship. I'm excited. Interning only 2 days a week, Tuesday and Thursday, and going to classes three days a week. Heading back toward home today. Shooting photos of Voidcrush's gig tonight in Anaheim. Tomorrow'll probably be spent watching my grandmother and then it's my last weekend of freedom for a few weeks.

Since I'm over at Brandon's dad's house and his brother does nothing with his life other than play video games, we've been watching Netflix off the X-Box when he's asleep.

Last thing we saw was Tenure, starring Luke Wilson, Gretchen Mol, and others. It's not bad, but it got kinda slow in parts. It's pretty much the story of a university professor trying to get tenure, but has to compete with this new professor who's also up for it. Nothing exciting, but it's amusing.

Now that I'm back home after a week in Northern California, there are few things I want to peel off my chest.

Fuck a certain person I've thought of as a friend for nearly a decade now. Fuck his self-centered attitude with my boyfriend. Fuck how he blames everyone else and fuck all of the drama he creates. Fuck his drug pushing. Fuck how he's nearly 40 and throws fits like a child, most especially when he isn't high. And above all fuck how awkward I feel around him these days. He wants to act all cool with me and demand hugs, but all the same he's cold and pissy. Fuck tourists. I know we're all technically tourists when we're not in an area we live in, but there are people who are BLATANTLY OBNOXIOUS LITTLE SHITS WHO NEED TO PUT THEIR CAMERAS AWAY AND LET THE REST OF US GET A LOOK AT SOMETHING IN PEACE. Look over there! Cheap crap from China with the Golden Gate Bridge stamped on it. Now shoo! Once again, fuck one of my money-grubbing aunts. While in San Francisco we paid a visit to a family friend who still lives across the street from the old house and she had nothing but bad things to say about a certain aunt of mine who apparently loves to bad-mouth my mother behind her back. Thankfully this family friend adores my mother and thinks of her as a sister and told the aunt to shut the fuck up and go to church. And lastly, fuck the rest of the world falling apart when you're away from home. While I've stewed a bit on things that irked me... Fuck the old ladies staying in the youth hostel in San Francisco at the Bay Area for pretty much just being there. It's complicated, but they pretty much acted self-entitled and above us while fancying themselves as being younger than they were. Fuck the obvious negativity focused toward Southern California, especially from NorCal, and in the most inappropriate places. Come the hell on! The Garibaldi is native to Monterrey and below. Your aquarium (which costs $30 to get into without a coupon) makes it seem like it's only in the North and animals native to Southern are in some way inferior. Fuck how the Triple-A guide book is always wrong about prices for attractions is the Bay Area. They'll say something is free and you show up and the cost is $10. Or it'll say there's a student rate for $15 and you show up and they have no such deal, just full adult price at $25+. 
Fuck you, lower back, for suddenly suffering from sharp pains when you move in certain angles. ARGH!

Thank you, bartender at Black Magic Voodoo Lounge, for understanding that when we asked if your kitchen was still open to which you giggled that all you have to eat is peanuts, you then started pulling out menus for nearby places to eat, saying it's cool if we bring it there after taking it out. Your bar was awesome, by the way. And oh my god, freezing Magners and a cold Pepsi while eating my take out? Swoon.

Thank you, random San Francisco residents (some of you cooks and waitresses), who noticed us pouring over print-outs of things to do and stepped up to suggest things you love to do in this fair city. Thank you, hippies who ran our hostel, you guys really add to the ambiance. Thank you, San Francisco, for being a city of great contrast, offering many interesting things to see and do (granted at a high price sometimes). You house many of my favorite things in the world and it's no wonder you were the first American city my family lived in upon coming to this country several decades ago. Thank you, donut shop worker, for offering us bubble-wrap while we decided on what we wanted to eat. Thank you, maze owner, for putting together a pretty damn awesome mirror maze in the middle of Pier 39. Thank you, homeless lady, who saved me $15 on BART tickets (who then started begging me for money after she wouldn't leave us alone while Pat tried to buy tickets). Thank you, friends who showed up to Voidcrush's gig last night. It was great seeing you all out of the blue. Thank you, Discovery Channel, for making videos about how awesome the world is, because we often forget how many wonderous things happen on this glorious planet. And I refer to these things: Yeah, I know they're ads for the Discovery Channel, but damn it, this planet is awesome. Forget about Pandora and all the other fictitious places you wish you lived on. Last movie we saw was Star Trek: Insurrection. My favorite Star Trek movie next to star Trek IV: Voyage Home.

Fuck you, club door man, for saying "Sorry, we're at capacity," and then let in a girl and her boyfriend after she said hi to you and giggled. Since we brought a friend who took offense to this, assuming it was a slight as opposed to favoritism toward chicks the guy might be friends with (which is still annoying), we never heard the end of it.

Thankfully, we had a pretty good night before that. Unfortunately going, "Hey, wasn't it cool when we saw the Orion Nebula through a high-powered telescope" wasn't enough of a distraction ... for three days in a row.
Fuck neo nazis showing up to a historical re-enactment festival. Way to make all of us feel REALLY uncomfortable. Fuck the local security guard who didn't bother getting out of his car to yell at Brandon, Stitch, and me for standing on the public sidewalk taking pictures of the city covered in fog, and then sat in his car pointing him LED flashlight at us as we walked by (which wasn't even strong enough to hit us) as though it was supposed to intimidate us. Fuck that there's another Big Mama movie starring Martin Lawrence. Fuck all of the friends I've hung out with in the last week being sick.
