"Ok serious time," Daren said to Rourke. "I'm offering you a job in my bar as a
waiter/busboy/cook. The hours suck, the pays not that great but better than minimum wage and you get free drinks and food in your off hours." He took a long drag on his cigarette. "So whadaya say?" |

Daren looks around the bar. "Nothing Major," he says.
"There's only about an hour left of the night. Go home if you want, or do you want something from the kitchen? Either way be back here tomorrow at 12 noon. We open at 10 and go till 2 in the morning, you'll be here 12 to 8." |

The chain of cars set out for a rather brief trip all told. The streets are mostly silent
at 3:00 in the morning on a weekday. Hence why the fast moving, LARGE, SUV that crosses the intersection of Orange and Third is so unusual. Especially since it plows full on into the side of Grim's Magnum. The car is sent sliding towards the curb where it flips twice through the air and lands on it's roof, half on some poor humans lawn, and half on their front stoop. Car doors opening and shutting is the next sound and someone chuckles evily. *use your imaginations* |

Before anyone else has a chance to react a gunshot blasts the darkness and a
moment later the perfectly aimed shot ignites the gas tank of the bike beneath Kismet. The resulting explosion launches her a dozen feet or so into the air where she eventually crashes down onto the underside of Grim's overturned car. "Come out, come out, whereever you are little hunters," a voice calls from somewhere in the gloom. Streetlamps start going out one by one and within seconds the street is darker than a country night with no moon out. The assembled beings however have no difficulty seeing. It was more to keep the next events from the eyes of Humans. |

The lamp post the Grim fired on was destroyed. Large chunks of the concrete
base were blown out by the massive hand cannon Grim called a gun. Enough so that a moment later the post fell over with a groaning crash. The voice chuckled again. "Can't hit what you can't see now can you?" it laughed, seeming to move about in the darkness, almost like it was circling them. |

As kismet rolls out of the way a gunshot is heard and a bullet ricochets off of the
concrete right through the path her head occupied moments before. The Shade curses and backpedals, melting seamlessly into the gloom. The voice chuckles again. "There is no escape. You should know that... I've always wanted to bring down The Ghost and Grim. I wonder how my reputation will grow...." |

Gas out wouldn't work because the individual gas stations don't actually make
more than a few pennies per gallon. It's the snacks and sodas and energy drinks and such that they make all their profit off of. Also the corporations that refine and distribute the gasoline aren't making a huge profit either. The price of gas is not being hiked up by some shadowy figures just to line their pockets with exirbitant amounts of money. It really is a matter of supply and demand, sadly enough. Now if we protested and stopped buying gas for two or three months then of course we would see a drop in prices. But only because the supply would have increased into a surpluss when there was no longer any demand for the product. Catch my drift? The only way to help yourself with the price of gas is to use less, not buy less. Doesn't make a lot of sense I know but take me for example. I drive a motorcycle so I have probably the most gas effective vehicle in existence short or a hybrid car. If I drive freeways and such at a speed of 65-70 miles an hour I'll get roughly 180 miles out of one 3 1/2 gallon gas tank before I have to fill up. If I drive at 75-85 miles an hour I'll get MAYBE 150 miles before I gotta fill up. Driving faster burns more fuel, so if people stuck to the speed limit, turned off their car's when they had reason to sit and wait somewhere for a while like in the line at the Drive-thru or whatever, if you got your tires balanced, had proper tire pressure, changed your oil and checked all the filters you'd get better mileage per gallon out of your car, spend less overall on gas, and get to your destination with a greater assurance of safety. And we thought they were just feeding us a line when they posted speed limits. (Last edited by Pockets on 05-24-07 06:26 AM) |

The flash light, combined with the high beams on the Hummer had the desired effect.
That of severely burning it's targets. Four screams rent the air and four vampires hit the ground writhing and convulsing in pain. There was a dull sounding boom, and a few seconds later a large caliber bullet tore through the side of Grims car, right near the gas tank. |

The thought of a True Flight, fully trained to kill with two fingers and a piece of gum frightens me to no end.
On the other hand... GIVE EM HELL!!! lol Nice to have you back, glad you seem to be in high spirits after AIT if I'm not mistaken that means either (Advanced Individual Training) or ( Advanced Infantry Training) does it not? |

Daren watched as Rourke walked out of the bar. The last patrons had left and
Violet sauntered out. He wasn't positive about her but thought she might work out pretty well. He cleaned up, got the bar set up for the next day and crawled upstairs to bed. The next morning he was awoken abruptly by the sound of glass shattering outside. Sitting bolt upright in bed he jumped to his feet and ran downstairs, still dressed in nothing but a pair of jeans. Grabbing a sword off his wall he sprinted downstairs and yanked open the door in time to see a man running down the street away from the bar. Standing near the wall were two other men. One of them being the kid from the previous night. "Bring him in here," he called. "I'll start some coffee and get some ice." |

Daren rushed into the kitchen to get some ice from the freezer and set a pot of
coffee brewing. A noise from the back alley distracted him however. "What is with it this morning?" he muttered as he went to peek out the window. Rourke was curled up on the floor, holding his head, and apparently sobbing. "Shit," Daren cursed. Throwing open the door he dropped to his knees next to Rourke. Wrapping one arm around the boy he attempted to get him to stand. "Come on Rourke, let's just head inside." |

"It's ok," Daren says, ushering Rourke into the bar. "Come on in."
He shut the door and grabbed the coffee pot off the machine. "Grab some mugs would you? top left cabinet door." With the he moved back into the front of the bar with the coffee pot and a bag filled with ice. |

The cheerfully crackling vampire bonfire warms the night and lights up the
damaged street. Another booming gunshot goes off and seconds later a bullet tears into Grims car again, igniting the spilled and leftover remnants of gasoline that was still in or on the vehicle turning it into a smoldering hulk of rubble, as opposed to the hulk of rubble it was before. |

So I have switched categories of bikers. There are two types of bikers in the world
those that have gone down, and those that are going down. I just today fell into the gone down category. I got into an accident this morning on the 91 freeway on my motorcycle. Scared the fuck out of me let me tell you. I'm only a little bit hurt and that just barely. I didn't even fall to the pavement. The bike falling cracked against my knee and it's a little swollen and aches but nothing major. Bikes left front turn signal is smashed to shit, the corner of the front fender is scratched and part of the left foot peg. It was leaking coolant when I got the bike back on it's wheels but doesn't appear to be doing so now so I have no idea what kind of damage was really done. I'm not sure this was the right forum for this but I needed to tell someone. Thank you for reading. |

The only plastic was on the bike itself. Didn't get run off the road.
I was checking the lane to my right to see if it was clear to move over. When I looked forward again there was a van at a dead stop about 6 feet from me. I slammed on the breaks, hit the back bumper at about 20 mph or so and at the sudden jolting stop dropped the bike and cracked my knee on the engine block as I was jumping clear. I'm completely ok. My knee aches a little bit but nothing major. Gonna be stiff tomorrow though. |

The knife in front of Kismet caught the surprised vampire directly in the scope.
The knife pierced the expensive scope on top of the gun, rendering it useless but in no way injuring thevampire. Until Kismet descended upon him in a flurry of claws and teeth however. Ghost's target attempted to dodge the incoming projectile, and werewolf and in his hast took the knife in his right shoulder. The blade sank deep into the flesh, lodging itself in the joint and rendering the arm useless. |

I saw this, midnight showing. It kicked ass. Compared to the first one it was by
far the best. The effects were bad ass, Doom looked fucking cool, the Surfer was a Bad Mother Fucker. Surfer was cool not matter what, and stuck largely to the original storyline for him as far as I remember. Antagonist that changes his mind. It was a pretty damned good film, but I HATED what they did to Galactus. The cloud thing was still kinda cool looking but I was looking forward to the giant and an epic battle between wielders of the Power Cosmic. All in all I'd give it an 8/10 but I don't think I'll go out of my way to buy the DVD as soon as it comes out. |

"You don't owe me anything," Daren said, nodding to those assembled in his bar.
"Just come by some night with some friends for a round and we'll call it even." |

I've had various songs from Wicked stuck in my head. My dad was playing his
copy of the soundtrack in his car all of fathers day, it's been stuck there for weeks now. Help? |

Good work. I don't own a car but I do own and drive regularly a Motorcycle and
I can say from experience that you're dead on. There really is a big difference between 30 and 60. |
