Cairoi, you lost faith in your own RP? I was waiting on you or someone to post something!? You had a good idea (granted it was spoofed in the movie Johnny English, and I would have liked going that route instead), and a good foundation of people, but ... lost train of thought.

RPs are no good if the creator loses faith and drive to keep it alive. I'm a better writer than I am a creator of RPs. I've only had one good one that I had to kill at the last moment (LBCC), and Soldier was a failed attempt at trying to create an RP out of a really good story.

It's the holidays too, and there are other priorities above keeping an RP going. I'm sorry that Mercenaries died, but meh. Guess, I'll go back to writing.

Yeah, did you realize that I'm just providing answers and not really acknowledging anyone on whether they're correct or incorrect?

Maybe you should try reading the posts yourself as well.

I know you got the Mt. Everest question correct, but I'm not acknowledging any of the other answers as correct or incorrect until I post the answers to them.

Since I've been forced to post:
There are five apples on a table. You take away two, how many have you got?

Answer: You have two.

However, Congratulations to those of you that got correct answers off the bat!
I'll give hints for the Japan one later on.
I'm trying to motivate a different way of thinking...thinking outside the box...away from the norm. I'm hoping you might discuss things back and forth (especially the Japan one) before just waiting for me to give up the answer. Have fun!

The house is real. It has 26,000 lights and was built by an engineer that lives in Mason, OH. The story was on an Entertainment show this morning on CBS.

"Carson Williams from Mason, Ohio used 88 Light-O-Rama channels to control his 16,000 christmas lights. The music is mesmerizing, the light display is enchanting, and I'd go crazy if I were his next door neighbor. So enjoy this clip and be happy we're in a different zipcode."

Cars line up the street to watch the display tuning their car radios to 96.9 FM to hear the music synchronized to the lights. This house is real. The other house, part of a giant hoax last year, is fake and constructed out of 32 photoshopped still images of lights on and off in different states of snow.

For your reference, three website articles proving this house's existence including one with a link to a news story on the man that created it. This year's house features a song about Patriotism, Frosty the Snowman, and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Wizards in Winter song.

And it does sell, it is available (if only in Japan under the NTT Docomo license), and it is waterproof.

If they make a model that accepts a SIM card, then I'll import one simply for the novelty of having a phone replace my watch. But, would that mean that I'd have to get an MP3 player to replace my phone?

Okay, I guess I should have specified my intentions.

By selecting a random word, from a random language, I meant picking a word that's definition would make you think "they made a word for that?" Not so much the stupid translation of "shithead" into another language.

That's not the purpose of this thread.

My word, that's a perfect example of creating a word for something as trivial as a look shared by two people.

Another example:
Zenzizenzizenzic -- the eighth power or exponent of a number.

For example the zenzizenzizenzic of 2 is 256. It was suggested by Robert Recorde, a 16th century Welsh writer of popular mathematics textbooks, in The Whetstone of Wit, published in 1557, although his spelling had the last letter of the word as 'k'.

So, I'm bored with my games so far. Well, not really, but I want something new. Basically, here's your chance to vote for one of the choices I listed, or tell me about some DS game that you like and why. This way, I have something to go on when I'm standing at EB wondering where to throw away...erm...spend my money.

So, either pick something and tell me why you picked it, or pick Other Game and tell me about something I haven't named off.

For your info, I already own:
Naruto RPG2 DS
Nintendogs--Dachshund & Friends
Trace Memory
Puzzle Bobble DS
Lost in Blue
Trauma Center: Under the Knife
...and some other game that I can't think of right now.

Have at it!

Ah, that was sweet. I don't think I'd go that far, but then I don't have long hair, but I think that it sweet of her to think of the other little boy/girl(?). It's a cute commercial.

Too bad we don't have commercials like that here.

Why not give it away? Like you can't figure out that the Spanish word for "cancer" is cáncer. It's obviously after some kind of chemotherapy.

I don't handle stress, I channel stress. That's one of the reasons why I have an LJ. I vent. I transform the neg into positive. I shoot people in videogames. I exercise. Or, I yell at people in traffic.

There's not much to stress management. When you've worked in positions that generate a high stress environment, you learn to just deal with it and move on. Or, bottle it up and move on. Or, do something stupid, get in deep shit, be arrested, then move on.

I haven't done the last part yet, and I don't plan on ever doing it. Though, I have come close.

Ah, GTA.

Posted on 12-31-05 06:15 PM, in Your Psi-Q Link
I don't really think it belongs here, since I've always studied the paranormal from an early age, but since it will probably end up here:
take the psi-q psychic test yourself

Now, I've always had the ability to just know right off the bat if I like you or not the moment I meet you. Don't know why, just do. And, I've always had the ability to dream the future. I've been to places for the first time and felt like I've been there before.

So, this isn't new to me, but it is pretty accurate. I have lost my psychokinetic ability...it was much stronger when I was in high school. Now, I control lights and other electronics at will.

Legend

Telepathy/Empathy

The Psi Q test profiles a broad range of telepathic and empathic ability. Telepathy can be regarded as the ability to pick up thoughts, while empathy is the ability to pick up emotions through other than normal channels.

Clairvoyance/Remote Viewing

Clairvoyance is the ability to see things beyond the range of the power of vision. Often associated withother abilities, the clairvoyant is frequently capable of "remote viewing", the ability to see often distant locations in some detail in the mind's eye.

Psychokinesis

While psychokinesis or telekinesis is probably the rarest psychic ability in its purest form (the ability to move solid objects by applying intention alone), the Psi Q profile measures the degree to which you appear to be able to manifest your will in the physical world. You may find yourself lucky at games of chance for example, or find that things appear to be set up just the way you would want them to be.

Precognition

People with this ability, or precogs are traditionally called seers and have the ability to foresee the future. Some may find their abilities enhanced by tools such as tarot cards or crystal balls (scrying) but many simply find that knowledge of what is to come simply presents itself to them in often surprising ways!

Channeling

Channellers, or mediums, have the ability to communicate with, or act as conduits for the communication of, non-human intelligences or the spirits of the departed. The Psi Q profile takes a broad assessment of this communication and includes in its assessment forms of communication that may be non-verbal.

So, take the Psi-Q test.

I remembered what my other game is:
Yoshi Touch & Go

But, I was thinking of getting Mario Kart DS, but not just yet. I don't want a racing game just yet. Maybe later on.

Then, I found a TV Tuner for the DS, and thought about that. But, that's going to come a lot later since I don't really need a TV for my DS either.

I'm thinking between Mario & Luigi or Animal Crossing. Castlevania sounds tempting, but I don't want to tie up my time playing an RPG-like environment...just yet.

But, I'm going shopping this afternoon...in the rain. So, I guess we'll have to see if I get anything.

Posted on 12-31-05 06:35 PM, in Quiz: What form of self-multilization are you? (Warning: for Mature) Link
Well, since I have two different music preferences, I took it twice ONLY changing my music preferences each time:

Japanese music/Mozart/Disney:

Skin
You are RE-OPENING WOUNDS.
Synopsis: Most people have performed this at some
point in their lives, but it's the people who
constantly don't allow their wounds to heal who
are considered to "self-mutilate".
These people are often very detail-oriented and
notice the slightest changes in their
environment. They likely also are an excellent
judge of character.
Positive trait: Observant
Negative trait: Judgemental
Color: Black
Emotion: Anti-social
Animal: Wolf
Quote: "Stars, hide your fires; let not light
see my black and deep desires."

What form of self-mutilation are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

The Killers/Eminem/Gwen Stefani:

Cutting
You are CUTTING.
Synopsis: Even though cutting is the most common
form of self-mutilation, that doesn't make it
any less painful. You probably try to hide it
from your friends and family, wanting the help
but not knowing how to get it. You like to be
alone and get frustrated easily by other
people.
Positive trait: Have a lot of empathy for others.
Negative trait: Hard on yourself.
Color: Crimson
Emotion: Self-hate
Animal: Horse
Quote: "I count him braver who overcomes his
desires than him who conquers his enemies; for
the hardest victory is over self."

If you actually read my initial post, you'd see that I already own Trauma Center: Under the Knife. Yes, it's quite entertaining, but I need a new game. I can't get passed the aneurism surgery...even with the Touch.

So, yeah. I'll be playing Lost in Blue if you need me.
