| So marriage licenses for same sex couples have been issued here in Pennsylvania, at least one one county. An official poured over the state constitution and determined that the law passed to ban same-sex marriage was against the Pennsylvania constitution and therefore invalid... most other Registers of Wills are still upholding the ban... and many are trumpeting their "right-wing Christian, Republican" beliefs on the matter as justification.
So yeah, with that and the ACLU case that is coming up, I see Pennsylvania becoming one of the next battlegrounds for equality. |
