| Ah fuck it.
Just got back from the hospital. I was out hiking with Stitch and Brandon when my mom called to say they're in the ER because this flu we thought Dad had is actually pneumonia, worse yet that his kidneys are not operating right. They'd been there since 2 p.m. I showed up around 8. They were still stuck in the ER, and Dad hadn't eaten since breakfast around 9 this morning. I got on one of the nurses to bring him something, which they did. Then there was the matter of the room he was assigned needing to be cleaned. I kept checking the progress of it (since there's a screen on the wall that says what's going on with each person). It went from "dirty" to "cleaning" to "ready" over the course of a couple hours and it took them a couple more to finally move him to it while he complained to me about how uncomfortable he was in the ER gurney he was stuck in. There was just so much drama. A woman was screaming and the hacking up blood and the only nurses who stopped by were those who just wanted to look and then run back to what they were doing. Fucking hell... |

I finally buckled down and watched Imagine Dragons' video for it. I liked it a lot, actually. And the official song isn't near as irritating as the cover. Still, I could see why hearing it a lot could put anyone in a shitty mood. I don't listen to the radio, either, but I think what's really wearing on my nerves are all the pop covers Stitch has been putting on our shared Spotify playlist that he plays when we're in the car together. Under protest, I sit through three different covers of "Bad Romance" and "Defying Gravitiy" from "Wicked." |

| As I wrote in the "Fuck You" thread, my dad is in the hospital for pneumonia. What I'm happy about is the fact that the kidney issue my mom had told me over the phone while I was out hiking was not as serious as she led me to believe.
Mom made it sound like his kidneys had shut down, but when I spoke to his doctor, who hadn't even seen him yet, she showed me his lab results as compared with his history. While his kidneys are having slight issues (he is diabetic), it's solely because he's sick right now. It's only a few points difference from usual. I'm so relieved. I'd spent the night thinking I was going to have to donate a kidney, believing my dad was dying at any moment. |

| Attempting to watch Cop Out on TBS. I haven't seen any of Kevin Smith's movies after Zack and Miri Make a Porno, and I'd heard this one was terrible.
And it is. I remember reading Bruce Willis hated making it, especially since Kevin'd taken up smoking pot and was too preoccupied with it to even really direct properly. It's not even enjoyable. It's irritating. |

Thank you, Dad's doctor, who actually put our minds at ease regarding Dad's illness. The ER doctor he had just before made it out like he was dying.

Yes. A lot of them. The Guild not being the least of which. There's also been Legend of Neil, Red Versus Blue, the College Humor stuff like Street fighter: The Later Years, and a bunch of things that aren't coming to mind at the moment. Do you like the sound of your own voice? |

| I'm really irritated, because I wrote out a really long post here, but then something happened and it disappeared. I wish this board had autosave.
Anyway... this was days ago. I ended up getting up from the computer and leaving the house (was running errands and just never came back to re-writing it). I was exasperated all the same, and I can't even really remember what I wrote. Breaking Bad is one of the few shows that I currently watch that doesn't take place in some historic period or alien world. I've been more into costume dramas, and I rarely get sucked into shows that take place now unless there's powers or time travel or something. I shotgunned it earlier this year on a whim (was in the Mojave Desert with nothing to do but watch someone's Netflix account). I don't know if it's the science involved or the writing, but I got really into it. It's good storytelling. I wasn't all that blown away with the newest episode that aired a couple days ago, but we'll see what they're building up to shortly, I hope. |

| Geek & Sundry, but only because it posts The Guild. Not really following it these days.
I'm waiting for the new season of Fallout: Nuka Break to finally post. I gave money to their Kickstarter to make the new one, since I loved the fan film and first season. I've also been a follower of Mega64's work for nearly a decade now. There's a whole story to their videos, but they haven't really been saying anything about the fourth season they've supposedly been working on. I watch Lindsey Stirling's videos, but I've sort of been falling off on them. I dunno. It's one of those "She got too popular and she knows it" sort of feelings. Then there's all the steampunk and other things I watch. I dunno.. so much stuff online. |
