I'm in need of some catharsis. Fuck you, asshole who littered in front of me and when calling you on it, attempted to steal my hat. Granted, I was excessively moody from the crowds and PMS, but really, sir? Fuck the 18-wheeler traffic that comes down Firestone in South Gate. I nearly got into two accidents from truckers in the left lane suddenly needing to turn right into something and just doing it right in front of me so I'd nearing T-bone their cabs. Fuck the fact that I have to write reviews for "Agents of SHIELD," and more so fuck that I've been reduced to bootlegging "Thor: The Dark World" because I don't have the cash to go see it in the theater, but I have to know what happens here to understand shit that comes up in this week's episode of AoS.  Just fuck you very much right now, Marvel.
Fuck coming home and wondering what it is in the house that smells like cat piss. In the past week, they hit our bed twice and fucking doused the breakfast nook table (which had an American flag on it that they soaked. Fucking Commies), so the finish is all damaged from the moisture. They've also hit the pile of laundry in our bedroom a couple times, and pissed all over the one by the laundry room with the basket on top. Jesus. I don't know if it's nerves from my parents being away or what, but they've been pretty shitty (figuratively speaking) lately.

Yesterday was the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address. I was reading it some time in the morning and for some reason got all teary-eyed.

Recently was also the 100th anniversary of the opening of the L.A. Aqueduct. I posted picture of this souvenir bottle of some of the first water to come through. It's on display in the L.A. Natural History Museum. Below that is Brandon in a yard in Independence, CA where they're keeping a lot of the vehicles used in the construction of the aqueduct. 
We must always keep in mind that while the aqueduct is a great thing for Southern California, it destroyed the well-being of the people of the Owens Valley. The 50th anniversary of JFK's assassination is in a couple days.

Happy to be going out out of town for Thanksgiving next week. Going to Ridgecrest (not much to see there, but oh well) to see Brandon's dad and brother. His mom will be coming into town too. So good times.

All right, so I ended up watching Thor: The Dark World, through a bad bootleg online.

Overall the movie was quite watchable. Parts of it were amusing enough to make buying a ticket worth it. Yeah, I'll see it in theaters, eventually.

I'm heading up to Central Cali to be with Brandon's family in the High Desert.

I know I've been cynical about this holiday many times in the past, especially regarding its origins, but it's an excellent excuse to see friends and family you don't get to as often as you like. I hope you all are among loved ones, or at least having kick ass adventures (like Elara is, at the moment). People have been in line for days for Black Friday already. And I mean, there were people lined up at Best Buy on MONDAY, tents set up and everything. While I can understand the desire to save a few bucks, I can't express how stupid I find the notion of the entire thing. Anyway, again, I wish you all a happy holiday.

Just got home from Ridgecrest. Stopped at a place in Palmdale and had a burger that was half-beef, half-bacon, topped with feta and pastrami. Greatest burger I've ever had in my life.

Oh jeez, this Black Friday was terrible. At least, based on what I was reading. People were getting STABBED over PARKING SPOTS. WHHHAAAAAT? A Wal*Mart employee was trampled to death, there were shootings and robberies and fights all over the damn place.

I'm just glad I spent Black Friday hiking and then having Thanksgiving dinner with Brandon's family (Thanksgiving day was ham since we weren't sure if Bran's mom would make it from Arizona in time for dinner). But yeah, it was a good holiday for me. Went hiking and exploring some of the high desert. Then discovered the sheer glory that is a 50/50 burger (half-beef, half-bacon) with feta and pastrami.
