Damned if I'm not the same way. Honestly, I almost secretly didn't want to get accepted to university out of fear of change and worries about the commute, cost, keeping up in studies, and so on.
Fact: My job has caused me to hate most people who don't have intellectual disabilities, due to my reasoning that they have absolutely no excuse for their behavior, lack of common sense, courtesy, and compassion. |

I guess I just don't get all that excited about new shows. I tend to let them go for a season and then binge-watch them all in one shot to see if I'd really like them (what I've done with "Game of Thrones," "Orange Is The New Black," "True Detective," etc.)
It's just a bitch when you're following along with a show, week to week, and then it ends up sucking and you still hang on to see how the next one goes. I went through that with "Heroes" and am going through that with this season of "True Detective." What's more I don't really know what's coming out. Just for you, though, I looked up the fall season. I'm sure I'm going to end up watching "Heroes Reborn" as it airs. Hah, I actually forgot this was coming back. And I guess I'm probably going to end up watching Kurt Sutter's "Bastard Executioner" since Bran and I were pretty into "Sons of Anarchy" near the end of the series. What is your happy place like? |

I'm really hating all the constant coverage regarding people saying they've been seeing Kit Harrington around the set and theories being "confirmed." Is it so bad to just be surprised?
Frankly I'm sick of how mainstream the "L+R=J" theory has become with these media outlets pushing how it's true based on this and this factor, etc. I honestly wish I'd never heard of it and could be shocked if it turns out to be true. Mind, I'm not even looking for this stuff. I'm not hanging around Wiki pages or message boards. This shit is just all over my Facebook. |

Well, I've been playing Jenga and matching card games with the clients...
And yeah, playing Cards Against Humanity whenever Stitch decides to cart it around and insist people play it with him. |

Congats, man. And good luck!
I'm not all that busy right now, but I will be soon. I've got a trip next month, but first gotta work as a department head at an anime con in a few weeks. |

Honestly, I'm too chicken shit to wander into old buildings with a flashlight. I'd be too scared something or someone will be there on top of being too freaked the cops will come to site me for trespassing. Frankly, I'm also still afraid of the dark, open to the notion of ghosts, and I'm getting anxiety just watching some of those videos.
I've hiked to and through ruins of burned out houses and such, sure, but breaking into Linda Vista Hospital at night? NO THANK YOU!! The most I've done that I could have gotten in serious trouble for was wandering out onto Sunken City in San Pedro. It used to be a neighborhood, which eventually fell into the ocean and all that's left are broken sidewalks and streets. There are almost always people there drinking, doing drugs, spray-painting, and so on, but just being there, alone, is cause to be arrested. I once wandered into the tunnels under Fort MacArthur, but a guy showed up to chase us out after we'd been there a while. I've seen videos of people in the same spots we were, trying to show how they were haunted. I've done some exploring of the Mojave Desert, but there's more of the concern of being shot on sight by the locals. Most of the areas around Ridgecrest, look like the NCR Wasteland. |

Yes, but it's very lackluster. Since my back and hips haven't been hurting so much these days, I've not had to get up at 5:30 anymore for stretches, so I've lately been waking up at 6 (though I haven't been sleeping well and tend to wake up at 4 and 5 and try to fall back asleep to little avail.)
Anyway, I mess around on the computer until somewhere between 6:30 or 6:45, whereupon I finally go downstairs and fix myself a bowl of cereal, half-Trader Joe's High Fiber with cinnamon dusted on top, half-Cinnamon-flavored Puffins with 2% milk. I eat, go to the bathroom, shower, dress, and then yell downstairs at around 7:12 to see if Mom's ready to leave. Usually she's still not fully dressed and I've still got to put my shoes on. I pull fruit out of my mini fridge, gather together my phone, wallet, keys, and book I plan to read that day, and wake up Brandon to kiss him goodbye, tell him I love him, and head downstairs. There I take my vitamins with one of my chilled bottles of water, pull my Trader Joe's salad out of the refrigerator, and carry all of my shit to the Rav, which I back out of the garage (since Mom can't seem to do so without nearly taking out the Volvo.) We drive to her work, listening to NPR, A/C at its lowest setting. Once she's there, I drive the car to my work, where I clock in at 8:25, take Arnold to the bathroom, write my name on my stuff and put it in the center's fridge, exchange my bag for my clipboard in my locker, figure out what club I've got that day with which clients, and do whatever chore I'm assigned that morning (usually sweeping something) before pulling files for the AC I'm with, and then gathering my clients starting at 9, as they arrive for the day. It's really not all that interesting, and it's the same thing five days a week. Saturday morning is pretty much just running to buy fruit at the farmers market, while Sunday is getting breakfast with my parents before gallivanting off to Whole Foods with Brandon before we go about the rest of the day. Have you ever realized you'll never get around to doing certain things in your lifetime that you, as a child, thought you'd do someday? (Last edited by Rogue on 08-03-15 11:15 PM) |

Stitch brought it over to my house to play it with my cousin's teenaged daughter and her friend (who resembled a preteen boy, but was actually 16), who were both staying with us for a month. Then he brought it over again to play it with them and the guy's mom, who was also with us.
The kid kept playing all the big, black dick cards, which his mom kept picking as the ones to win. Yeah, it totally wasn't a disturbing night. (Last edited by Rogue on 08-03-15 11:26 PM) |

OK ... we've got one episode left for this season of "True Detective." I feel like the first two episodes were practically the ONLY good ones. The show took a HUGE dip after those, but I hung on week-to-week all the same.
This latest episode was definitely better, but mostly for the fact that Vince Vaughn's character is one of the few interesting ones. Regarding "The Borgias," Bran I got through a season and the first couple episodes of season 2 and then just felt incredibly annoyed with it for some reason. Could just be that I was really uncomfortable with how the show got rid of Alfonso II of Naples. |

Depends on what it is. Iced coffee, lemonade, and such I'd rather had ice, but beer or things I drink straight out of a can or bottle I'd rather didn't.
There was a time when I used to only drink soda and was adamant that it had NO ice. Once, when the service was so bad at Norm's, and they brought me Mountain Dew with ice in it, I fished the ice out with my bare hand and just left it in the center of the table. This was many years ago (when Pat and Christina were still a will-they or won't-they) and a time when I decided I just didn't care how immature I looked doing so. Have you ever been hit on by members of your sex? |

Someone created this and the moment I finished it, I posted it to Brandon's wall going, "Holy shit, we're not alone!" I haven't heard other people complain about it, but then again, I haven't even really heard ANYONE talk/post about it.

Thankfully that seems to have died down.
What I'm fucking tired of are all the "inspirational" images of random quotes and shit written over pictures of "Despicable Me" minions. Holy fuck, WHY?! HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRR!!! And these were just ones shared today by friends. |

In a slight funk again. Need to count some blessings.
Happy that it turns out the psychotic client who can't even take looking at the ocean without going into a murderous rage is actually not in my nature club this cycle. We're based near San Pedro, which would have made it such a bitch to find places we could take her that would still be cool for the other clients. Happy I get to work with Irma three days a week. Happy I just got a couple batches of tea samplers ordered online. Woo, happy things to expect in the mail. Happy I'll have a paid day off next week. Granted it's to go to different doctors appointments, but still woo getting to do things in the middle of the day if I want to. Happy to have had what I consider the greatest guacamole in the world. It's goddamn orgasmic. Happy that I found another clip of Maggie Smith as Beatrice in a 1967 production of "Much Ado About Nothing." And this one has Benedick in it. Happy that Audra will be in town next week. I almost wish I were just going down to San Diego to visit that weekend, though since there's so much going on down there that weekend -- Twainfest, Anniversary of the End of WWII Celebration on the Midway. ARGH. Still... happy she's coming to visit before she moves to Scotland. Happy that my usual peach and nectarine guy knows Brandon and me now and always cuts us a deal and then throws in a few free nectarines into our bag after I've paid. |

I could hook you up. If only you lived nearby.
Fact: From where I'm sitting I can reach out and touch four different boxes of Trader Joe's tea (mango black tea, vanilla and cinnamon black tea, Earl Grey, and of course GREEN TEA.) And the rest of my collection is sitting on an altar in the hallway. It's A LOT of shit. |

I'm sure if you have a Facebook, you've seen the stories about the dentist who went to Zimbabwe to "hunt" and kill the favored people-friendly lion. Well. What do you think of it? Apparently people have started tagging his million dollar vacation house in Florida and littering it with pig feet. Uh OK? Why pig feet? |

And that's the funny thing. Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrell, who everyone complained about before the season started, are the only interesting things on the show. Rachel McAdams' character is pretty unbearable, though.
The writing is just not that good this year. It's almost a bad episode of "Law and Order: SVU" or something. (Last edited by Rogue on 08-06-15 09:45 PM) |

Hope it went well!
Speaking of tea, I had a Scott Pilgrim moment yesterday. I ordered a bunch of teas from an online shop and, two days later, got an e-mail saying they just delivered my package. I giddily run down the stairs and throw open the door and there's the postman, looking wide-eyed and confused. He handed me the box, pushed the rest of the mail through the slot so it landed by my feet, turned, and walked away. Either way, TEEEEEAAAA!!! Fact: My celebrity crushes are very specific -- Load (1996-98) era James Hetfield ("Whiskey in the Jar" video ), 1966 Clint Eastwood, etc. |

Sorry to hear that. Times are tough still, sure, but someone is bound to give you a shot.
Fact: I can't ever write/talk about good things I have going because I ALWAYS seem to jinx them. |
