| I was such an L.A. stereotype for a while there.
"I'm an out-of-work writer that occasionally gets work as a background person for webseries. I edit for my friend's blog and do a podcast, but that's just for 'exposure.'" These days I'm a Direct Support Professional, but since most people wouldn't get what that means right off, my answer is: "I work at an activities center for developmentally disabled adults." This was how I worded it when I had to do jury duty and they ask you your occupation along with whether or not you have a significant other or kids and if you've served on a jury before. |

I haven't really gone to the movies much, but on my flight home they had lots of newer movies available to stream. "Mad Max: Fury Road" was of course the first thing I re-watched. After that I finally got around to watching "A Little Chaos," starring Kate Winslet and Alan Rickman. I'd been hearing lots of critics raving about it. It's the fictitious story of a woman who designs an outdoor ballroom for Louis XIV at Versailles. Not the greatest film, but enjoyable to an extent. |

Thank you, Holland America cruise consultant, for letting me know the Adriatic Dream itinerary featuring three stops in Croatia and stops in Malta and Montenegro was going to be discontinued and booking us on the last run, upgrading us for free and getting us $500 ship-board credit and a free dinner at the "expensive" restaurant on the ship. |

| I've had too many moments that I really can't remember the first. I mean, even when I was a kid, I didn't listen to any new music and always preferred old stuff my dad and I listened to. I'd reference these things and other kids wouldn't know what the hell I was talking about. "Record player? 8-track? You're stupid."
I've been going through this when I talk to people at cons. Good grief, why is the average age for anime cons holding consistently at 15? So many people leave, more young blood floods in, and I just feel older and older. I guess I was really struck with the feeling a few years back when I remembered "Jurassic Park" was nearly 20 years old. What's the worst nightmare you've had recently? |
