There's less than two months to go. You couldn't wait?
A bit premature... |

Originally posted by Elara In a similar vein, fuck my next door neighbors who moved in last year and ALWAYS leave turned on these bright Christmas lights that they wrapped around all their backyard trees. It has effectively killed the dark night sky we were able to get sitting on the roof above my back patio. When we couldn't go anywhere for a meteor shower, at least we were always able to catch sight of a small portion of the meteors while laying back there and staring at the sky. In the 45 minutes we were back there on Thursday night, we saw two. I don't know why they always leave that shit on, but it's also been bugging the shit out of my parents since it shines into their window too. |

Yup, I binge-watched that too. It was good.

Happy birthday, board. *slow nod*
Stitch and I were hanging out yesterday going on about how old we've been feeling. I've been out all weekend and feel like I've been through a battle. Everything hurts. |

Hah, catching people in a lie. Been doing that A LOT lately with my boss. She claimed she investigated a client of ours who'd tested positive for active tuberculosis, saying he's positive but at safe levels. Another co-worker actually went and called the client's mother who told us he's NEGATIVE and brought the paperwork in to prove it.
I'm sick of her. |

You know, I should really get on that one. A friend of mine was always referencing it and all I could ever come back with was, "Why is he always recording messages for Diane?" Just one of those random one-off facts I knew about it.
Been watching "BoJack Horseman." It's funny. |

Forgot to mention I saw "Star Trek Beyond" the day it came out. It was good. Probably only really likable if you're into the Trek films. It actually felt like I was watching one of the original crew films.

Today was my last day at this new center, and I get to return to the old one on Monday. I feel like such an asshole for leaving in that my departure really upset the one other staff member I told. He's Filipino and seemed to think that we had a deeper relationship because of our shared heritage. He mentioned feeling like he thought he'd one day get to meet my family. I'm sure that sounds creepy to others, but in our culture it's different.
Anyway, I'm really paranoid this is all going to fall apart somehow. Still, it's best that I'm getting out of here. I mean, we had a goddamn TB scare at this place and I caught my boss in a lie. |

Fact: I have a large pile of bottle caps next to me. I think someone's trying to tell me to put that goodamn Fallout costume together already.

Except for the fact that I have no magical powers, I always thought Hermione was a lot like me when I was reading the books as an early teenager, pretty much around her age. She had frizzy brown hair, was the class know-it-all, and got bullied for it as well as for her heritage. Being biracial, I've heard insults similar to "mudblood" throughout my life.
What smells do you find comforting? |

Well this'll be a weird contrast to the previous post.
It was my last day at the new center yesterday. Took my clients to Little Saigon, which is where I broke the news to my Filipino co-worker that it was my last day. I mentioned this in another thread, but it still hurts that I upset him so. Though the place was hell, I still wish I could take some of these co-workers with me to my old center, but they'd never settle for that commute and less hours. Hm, seems like my Facebook feed is constantly loaded with videos of disembodied hands making some culinary wonder or another. It makes me want to get back to cooking more, but then I'm lazy and all the recipes are largely immense amounts of bacon. I like bacon and all, but not in massive quantities.
I guess more in the realm of outside my expertise would be all the movie make-up tutorials I also similarly get inundated with. Amazing stuff. |

Bran and I have been listening to the first book in audio form. It's amazing the little details that were left out that have finally come into play now on the show (Ned's memories of Lyanna saying, "Promise me," etc.)
We're not too far in. Catelyn's just arrived in King's Landing and Ned's been summoned to the small council. |

Tonkotsu ramen with a giant piece of chashu and a flavored hard boiled with a soft yolk. Yup, would never get tired of it and I'm sure my sodium and cholesterol levels would be through the roof.
What sorts of things are you guilty of buying on impulse? |

Originally posted by Xeoman Seriously! I was already really looking forward to "Westworld," but to find out Anthony Hopkins is on it. WHHHAAAAAAA? It's so great that TV is not looked down as something stage and screen actors are settling for or are stuck in. It wasn't until "Heroes" was huge that I started hearing actors going on about how wonderful it is to be on a show because now they get many hours to hone and develop a character as opposed to the two hours average you get with a play or movie. A 26-episode season means nearly a day's worth of character development and almost the equivalent of 10 movies time-wise. Still, most of my favorite shows these days seem to run around 8-to-13 episodes a season, but it's so the quality can remain high. |

We got ours from the L.A. County Library system. It's read by the Roy Dotrice, who was originally cast to play Pycelle, but got sick. He's 93, I think.
Anyway, I keep falling asleep listening to it. We've been listening to it in the car, but since I'm often really tired after shenanigans, it doesn't help getting this soothing British voice that pronounces Baelish's first name as "Pett-arr" among other differences from the way we've become accustomed due to the show. More regarding the season finale: Spoiler:
I just think it's funny that Arya slits Frey's throat and everyone's losing their shit talking about her being a murderer. Sansa has Ramsay eaten alive by his dogs and they're all cheering without accusation (more than concern that she might be pregnant by him, anyway.) Granted, Arya pulled a Titus Andronicus and baked his sons into a pie and had Frey eat it. (Last edited by Rogue on 11-19-16 09:01 AM) |

Nope, but I've bought the expensive parts to make mine run faster to play "Fallout 4."
My cousin built one for me, which Brandon later referred to as a complete Frankenstein with the most RAM he'd ever seen, when I was in middle school. What's something or someone that you miss dearly? |

I hadn't heard that, no. Cool! Despite being half, I've never been before, but I'm hearing very mixed things about going. Mostly being health concerns.
I had a great day at work yesterday, even if it was just a typical, average day for the old center. |

Thank you, old boss, for brokering my early release from the shitty job.
