Before I go into the other two regions, a brief explanation on our power source...it's the three suns and two moons.
When Earth II was artificially created, the higher being felt that is should possess the ability to use both solar energies and lunar energies rather than the polluting environments of its predecessor, Earth Prime. The solar system's suns and moon were also artificially created and placed in such a way that the three suns wouldn't fry the planet during the day, but would still supply energy overnight by way of the two moons. The proximity of the suns also creates a contrast since the larger sun (Solaris I) is actually the farthest away, while the smaller sun (Solaris II) is located closer to the planet. Solaris III is located in between the two other suns, but is closer to Solaris II than it is to Solaris I. Earth II, the entire planet, runs on SolNar panels...power plants that are able to efficiently convert both solar and lunar energies over to electrical energy for supply to both the Island and the rest of the planet. Most of the power plants are located on one continent in the southern hemisphere, and through an intricate network of power distribution modules and conduits, power can be transported to wherever its needed all around the planet. In certain part of the planet, such as Erdu, the locals have figured out how to use their surrounding environments to power their necessities without harming their sources. In Erdu, a large portion of the population doesn't use electricity or electrical appliances, yet they remain connected to the great G-Net through centralized areas such as their libraries or InterScape cafes. Ryan (main character in Darkness: Pathetique) lives in Erdu on a mountainside overlooking the split between the residential and commercial business districts of Edge City. He uses his garden as a method of energy generation to power the two things that need power in his home: the laptop and a lamp. Unbeknownst to him, the Electriz (Ryan's car) generates its own power from its hydrogen/electric drive systems simply by operating; or when sitting in Ryan's driveway, it can draw from the surrounding plants to extract hydrogen from the atmosphere. The by-product of his car? Water. In Erdu, the locals have used the winds to power energy efficient windmills, have used the trees to power advanced oxygenation systems that produce both energy and lifesupport resources. Erdu has decided not to embrace the highly technological world of Edge City, and has developed into a beautiful community high above the towers of Edge City with tree lined dirt and gravel roads, homes with large gardens, and its only stop on the AeroTrain near its downtown area serving as the only highspeed link to the rest of the planet. Its citizens are more in tune with the planet and the Island's life, and tend to shun away from the technology, but not completely repel from it. (Last edited by Zabuza on 04-01-05 03:50 PM) |

SPAM!!
Anyway, I like the ones we have now, but if we're heading towards a gaming thing, why not use something else instead of copying other boards. And, just because I'm an anime freak, why not using anime (Naruto specifically) as well. Or a combination of anime and gaming ranks so it's not just a specific one? The Third Hokage. For 2000 posts, maybe? Itachi. Haku. Zabuza. Kakashi. Before you go giving me credit, I didn't create these, I found them online. |

I just voted at work, so that should be another IP address that has been locked out. Hey, if we all (the gamers) deploy into the labs at school, we should be able to use all the computer IPs at school to vote before this is all over. How long do you have on voting? Is there a time limit?

I found these while surfing the net for pranks...
On LiveJournal, when you go to update your journal, the "Update Journal" button moves away when you first try to hit it. After hitting it, it says "Processing whining...". On Google, they've developed a new drink that can process your DNA and suit itself explicitly to your tastes. Read more about it at GoogleGulp. An excerpt from their "fine print":

Ah, the man is dying, get over it. Ah, the woman is dying, get over it. Ah, you'll die someday too, get over it. People live, people die. The only question is when.

Just in case you're wondering, concepts of the HyWire vehicles from the series.
HyWire Electriz Interior HyWire Electriz Front HyWire Electriz Top View--Doors Open HyWire Electriz Electronics HyWire Marauder Exterior (Lee has this car) HyWire Electriz Front HyWire Electriz (Erdu) HyWire X-drive steering controls. HyWire XTC Driving the HyWire As soon as GM markets this vehicle, I'll have that and a Prius. To answer your question, Elara, with three suns, average temperature is about the same as Earth Prime all year round...a cool 86 degrees F. There are seasons, but the temperature doesn't tend to vary too much. Highest temperature ever recorded: 96 degrees Fahrenheit. Lowest temperature ever recorded: 30 degrees Fahrenheit. How? You'll just have to wait for updates to the novel to find out. Mostly, Domain and Paradox Island will cover that. (Last edited by Zabuza on 04-07-05 05:48 AM) |

Originally posted by Cairoi Actually, no, I don't have to be empathetic. I don't have to be anything. And, you're wrong, I don't think that death is unemotional. I just think the death of the Pope is about as worthless as that of an ant. But, that's my opinion. I'm much more concerned with the hundred of thousands lost during the Indonesian disaster. I understand that there are people on this planet that have great sympathy and empathy for the man that died...but he was just that...a man. Nothing more, nothing less. I guess I'm not the religious type...surrealism, existentialism, hacktivism, Buddhism (I don't consider this a religion, but a state of mind), take-the-world-as-it-comes-ism, whatever works for the time being. I'm not an atheist...just agnostic. But no matter the faith, the beliefs, the facts or the fiction, death is death. Period. |

Again, my knocks on people are not personal...I'm just very bitter (lack of sleep, job sucks). But, if changing genders on a whim is your thing, then so be it. If not, cracking open a dictionary every now and then (or even an online one) wouldn't hurt. I'm off to spread my bitter joy! I like the new name, Xeo...very Mega Man-ish... [EDITED FOR CONTENT SINCE SOME PEOPLE CAN'T TAKE A JOKE]
Note: I'm nobody's grammy (yet), but you can ask Rogue about being on road trips with me. Particularly since she was my wing(wo)man for that 200 mile race in the Prius. Xeo: extraordinarily ...I'm done, until further notice... (Last edited by Zabuza on 04-09-05 03:37 AM) |

Doggy, whom is being called Scooby III in the meantime, doesn't hold still long enough to take a picture, and becomes more hyper when I'm around him. This was the closest I could get to taking a picture while he's trying to climb into my lap. (Last edited by Elara on 04-03-05 04:34 PM) |

Okay, the actual temperatures to the planet number into the triple digits during the day, and fall into below freezing at night because of the suns and their influence on the weather. Remember, while 86 degrees might be warm to us, the meta-humans aren't human. They've adapted based on their third helix. For certain species, such as Rosy's, they prefers nighttime due to its lowered temperature and non-exposure to the suns.
The planet is weather controlled through techniques that Pat will expose to his advantage as the story progresses. The weather control systems become instrumental to the main plot, so I can't go in depth about them here. Since Edge City has blocked most of the suns' rays with tall building structures, you'll find it to be cooler there during the day than the rest of the island. Since Erdu is up in the mountains, its temperature tends to remain pretty well regulated due to the high concentration of plant life surrounding the area. Zedari is mostly fields, so runs into a more arid slightly humid region than the other areas. Oakridge is like Long Beach...mostly...think midrange California-like temperatures with trees always around to provide shade tossed in with an occasional ocean breeze and little creatures running about the trees. I'm listening to the washing machine right now because I'm washing...well, no because I'm typing, so I'm listening to the keyboard. Dude, you're more serious than I ever was/am. It's a joke...strictly. I'd have no issue with you (except for the stupid people on the planet, they can die...) or anybody else (except ErkDog) on this board. But, really, what has this world (XGF) come to when I can't make random points in the Crazy Nonsense section?
And, what has this world come to when the Man implements tactics of creating things such as the Patriot Act to further constrict our inalienable rights to express ourselves as we so choose without affecting the wellbeing and other such crap of others? I don't know. And, I don't know where my lawn has gone. Look, I'm a smart kid...I know the laws. Do you really, in any possible sense of mind, believe that I--for one--would even be capable of killing a single person on this planet coldbloodedly or otherwise? No, I'm not. Video games, sure. Fiction writing, maybe. Real life, never...unless my career track required it. Thus far, it doesn't. That being said, I'd probably hug you all to death...particularly people whom don't like hugs just for effect... Of course, that might invite unnecessary boobs touching my body that I'd just rather not have. So, yes, I'd "kill" you all. Not in the literary sense, but maybe with a super soaker. My Linus...lighten up...take a chill pill...pass the dutch...take a long warm bath...eat Spaghettios...whatever... Your seriousness is probably going to be the death of you. Not me. |
