There was nothing about XIII at the Square Enix booth in the exhibits hall, but I'll ask about it tomorrow. The most I have going is the trailer they showed at the conference portion of E3. I think it's being released for PS3, though.

The motion control on the PS3 controller seems more cumbersome and less intuitive. After watching the Warhawk demo online and at E3, I don't think I want to play the PS3. It's not really that imaginative; I mean, compared to the possibilities of the Wii controller and the Wii nunchuck.

Ok, that leaves me an extra ticket since Bernie's not going. At least, that's what I assume from your post.

There aren't many words I can use to explain the elation and &*%&#$ I felt today walking amongst all those aisles, games, goodies, hot boys and girls, and next gen consoles.

Luckily, I have photos here to cover for that lack of not being able to explain.

And, video of the event is available here (big file warning):

I have, however, returned with much swag. And, shall continue collecting swag over the next two days. As well as (hopefully) a few valuable items to help me remember my days at E3 2006. So much freakin fun.

There's a one hour to two hour line just to see the Nintendo Wii. So, I may or may not get to it tomorrow. But I will see it. I've heard that PS3 isn't all it's cracked up to be. But, shall find that out tomorrow. I'm super excited over a few PS2 games that I taped in the video, and a few more Nintendo DS games.

P.S., Video was added at 2:20 PM PST, so it may be processing if you can't watch it. It should be available after 2:30 PM PST. You may have to refresh this thread.

I'm standing in line today for the Wii viewing. Well, tomorrow. Playing Nintendo DS in a few minutes once I get off the internet computers in the basement.

And, this is why I am not going to play the Wii:

Thanks to someone else with a lighted camcorder and video to kill.

To give a broader view, this is the floor plan:

Just saw the most exquisite trailer for MGS4 at E3 on the giant screen at Sony. Wow. Yet, not really impressed because I don't care much for MGS series. Still, I'm hoping this is actual PS3 footage and not just a video generated thingy. I'll find out when I play the PS3 tomorrow.

Wii forever!!

You should see what they did at E3 with Spock and the rest. It was like an E3 special they had running the first day. Which reminds me, I have two foam vulcan fingers promoting Star Trek 2.0. I think I'll get some more tomorrow. And maybe a few things from Square Enix. And some of the other more morbid developers. Maybe I can steal a Wii.

I saw a different trailer at E3, but I'm not posting it because it's in my videoblog, and because I'm trying to get a better view tomorrow. If I'm not playing games. Dammit, I am getting up (ranting, sorry). The game looked awesome on the giant screen at E3 though. I would love to play the demo on the wii.

You realize it's still CGI, though. Whether its in-game cinematics or pre-rendered animation, it's still computer generated images (CGI). I'm familiar with in-game cinematics, and prefer that to watching a pre-rendered video. It's like creating your own movie set, and placing all the characters are your actors within that set. I think it's far easier to do that, offering the flexibility to place the characters in environments that are already coded for the game.

But, since the game is created on a computer, everything is CGI. I meant to clarify, and comment as to a pre-rendered video rather than in-game cinematics.

No, you bought the paper that one time. Then screamed at it, and put it back.

I don't know what his overall reason even is anymore. I really just think that he wanted to do what daddy did with the Gulf War.

But, SinFest rocks. Gotta go, E3 calls...

Yeah, show was okay, when I was in sixth grade and didn't know any better. Looking back on it now, I think it fried parts of my brain I'd like to use now.

But, as a gamer professional now, I can only hang my head in shame and walk away.

Good show in its time, but meh now.

Zabuza's complete E3 2006 photoset.

All 200 some odd pictures of my three days at E3 can be found at the link above. As a final report, I did not get to play the Wii because I didn't want to stand in line for two hours or more.

I played Warhawk and Grand Turismo on the PS3. Kicked ass. Still don't like the controller, but it takes getting used to. Played Loco Roco and some ATV game on the PSP. Played Final Fantasy III, Pokemon, and some other games on the Nintendo DS Lite.

The new DS Lite is so much brighter than the current DS, and its so much lighter. But, I don't like the fact that it looks like an iPod accessory with its similar white case.

I have an Activision Marvel poster that I don't want, and several other goodies in 3 bags from the convention. Two foam fingers promoting Star Trek 2.0, and a Happy Tree Friends plushie. Also, I came back with just over 2 hours of video footage. Most of the remaining video will be compiled into episode 4 of "Adventures of a Gay Man", which can be found on my website at the bottom of the page at a link marked "Lee's Videoblog", or on YouTube by searching for "Adventures of a Gay Man".

After I sort though everything from the last three days, I will compile a final report and post anything that I feel the gaming community on this board should know about. There is just too much information for me to relay all of it right now.

I've also got demos for games (that I might be willing to ship out to people if I don't want them) and a few other things. Along with other grab bags from previous cons I must sort through.

Questions are welcome, and I will answer all that I can.

It's a fairly easy game, provided you can come up with five-letter words quite quickly.

In Word Sandwich, the computer is thinking of a five-letter word. You start typing in words. As your words are entered, they move down or up on the screen depending on where in alphabetical order they lie in relation to the word you're trying to guess. So, if the word you're trying to guess is "Clean" and you type in "couch", "couch" will move down because it's higher in the alphabet than "clean". If you type in "chair", it will move up because it's lower in the alphabet than "clean".

It's just a matter of trying to think up five letter words. And there's a time limit. You have five minutes to guess the word, along with another countdown timer in between guesses that resets with each guess.

It's a fun and challenging game, if you're up for it.
