I honestly think that next fall is fine. The PS2 was released in North America (according to GameFAQs) on the 26th of October, 2000. The PlayStation was released in North America, according to the same source, on the 9th of September, 1995. Five years between them. What year is this? Oh, right. 2005. Since fall of NEXT YEAR is in 2006, that means there's even more time between the PS3 and the PS2 compared to the PS1/PS2 gap. I think six years is plenty of time, honestly. *pulls up some Nintendo comparisons* SNES: Sometime in 1991 (GameFAQs doesn't have SNES release dates for North America, nor does it have an exact release date for SMW) N64: 29th of September, 1996 Gamecube: 18th of November, 2001 As you can see, it's quite normal to have 5-6 years between consoles. And, considering that with only five years between systems, Nintendo released the Gamecube without many problems, and that's with a switch in software formats. I'm sure Sony can do the same in six years. |

| Some translations are so bad they're hilarious. This sucks when the game's trying to be serious, though...
Glitchfest! Yay! =/ There are games that no matter how much I love them, they are unfortunately horrendously buggy. Morrowind's False Floors come to mind... falling, falling, falling forever... Framerate problems. I'm sorry, but lightsaber battles aren't very entertaining when you can see the skipping frames. Force Lightning isn't as impressive when it's all choppy and shit. KotOR 2 had problems here, if you couldn't guess... So, while neither of those have ANYTHING to do with the translation, they're complaints I have. Here's another... Wait, but that said you said... - I usually have subtitles on in cutscenes, even when the dialogue is in English. And when the dialogue is in English, the subtitles sometimes say something COMPLETELY different from what is being spoken. This can be a translation thing, but wasn't KotOR 2 first released in English..? |

| Alright, here's the problem I'm having lately. I've been getting an image of a level in a Star Wars game in my head for a while. Sometimes in dreams, sometimes it just pops up during the day.
But it's not in any game I've played, as far as I know. I'll do what I can to describe it here, but all I know is bits and pieces. You're flying an X-Wing down a canyon. At the bottom of the canyon is deep water, and the whole level appears to be a naval installation of some sort. There are numerous laser turrets firing at you, as well as a few TIE/ds (the TIEs in The Battle of Calamari in Rogue Squadron). That's all I got. Anyone know where it's from, if it's in any game? |

| Well, I know it's not in Rogue Squadron. Beat that game, I did. Had a lot of Gold Medals, too.The only water level was the Battle of Calamari, and that one didn't have many - if any - canyons, nor did it have laser turrets that I can remember, save for the ones mounted on the World Destroyers.

| Depends. When I'm forcing my decisions or when I play as I am? Being myself, I end up pretty close to Light Mastery; there were few Dark responses that sounded like something I'd say. A Light Sentinel/Watchman was the first character I beat the game with, in fact.
Now, if my own options were in the game, I'd probably be Neutral... I can be deceptive, I can be an asshole, but overall I'm not that bad. So while I'd say a few (maybe even a lot of) mean things, I might do some things most peoples' consciences would not allow, I have the greater good in mind. 'The means of the Dark for the ends of the Light' is the phrase I once used for that...
I wound up voting "Sorta Light" because as it stands, my own options are NOT in the game usually. And I'm not one to make a lot of threats, which kills my Dark rating. =/ (Last edited by Tamarin Calanis on 04-27-05 09:17 PM) |
