This has been done too many times.

My idea! Sure, it's not a poll, but nobody says you can't manually make a Poll with Text, and do the math yourself! Anyways ... since these kinds of threads have been made up several times in the past, I think it's kind of pointless. People will either like your profile, or not. So, you can still get critique if you really need it in that new thread. [boomshakalaka] (Last edited by Xeolord on 07-23-05 11:23 PM)

Simply put, do you work? And if yes then, what do you do?
|
I thought this might be an interesting topic, I'm kind of curious to see what other people here with jobs do: As for myself, I am a Curtosey Tech at Jiffy Lube, which is an Oil Changing place for cars in the US. We also deal with AC's, Radiators, Tire Rotations, mostly all of the fluids, lights, and so on. I've been working there for almost 2 months now. What I do as a Curt Tech:
Really, my jobs not that bad, even though I made it sound "quite" annoying, it's just that the 8-10 hour shifts get old. I also hate having to work in the weather, here in KS, humidity is a major issue, so it gets pretty hot, and we do have to wear special uniforms that aren't really "fitting". I can say my pay is quite good though, and makes me feel better about the job. Here in the US minimum wage is pretty low, $5.75 I believe? I make a few more $'s than that, so it's all good pay wise. I hate my Customer Service Adviser (CSA). He, is constantly yelling at myself and others, telling us what to do, and calling us things like "Tiger", "Skooter", and so on. And he's just annoying to look out. My Assistant Manager, is pretty annoying too. Thinking he's hilariously funny, and knows everything, he always keeps me way after closing, and makes me clean the basement (the section where employee's get into to work under the cars), which is something I shouldn't be doing. My other Assistant Manager, whom I usually close with on the weekdays, is cool though. He's also said "Once you can show me you can do curts quickly, I'll teach you how to work on the hood", which is working with the Oil Changing, and easier things (seriously, Curtosey Tech's get it like the worst). I've also gotten hints that I could be getting a 50 cent raise soon, so that's also refreshing to here. My job is decent. For a first job, I'm not complaining at all, and I have decided I probably will stick with it even after I turn 18 (being 18 opens more opportunities, but by then I may be doing other things than Curtosies). But, it's not always easy. It's muggy, there's annoying people I have to listen too, and things get repetitive and it is hard work (I serioulsy think I've bulked up a bit since I've started working there). So please, next time you get an Oil Change, show the people some love and respect. So, how's your "jorb", if you have one? (I didn't mean to make this an Epic Tale) Edit: On a side note, it took me over a year to finally find a job. (restricted) | (restricted) |

I finally bought this game, after searching for it for awhile, and finally had the money (it was $50. Totally worth it though). I got the PS2 version.

Has anyone here played this game? Basically it's as it sounds, a fighting game like Capcom vs SNK, only it's Marvel instead of SNK. But the flow of the game is much more arcade styled. The fighting is very fast paced, and you can switch between your 3 characters in a match on the fly, and Specials are insane, in which you can hold up to 5 specials, and when you have a bunch like that, you can perform super specials with all of your characters at once. There's a total of 56 characters, and right off the bat you start off with like 20. My favorite characters that I can think of: Iron Man (War Machine, either or), Wolverine, Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Chun-Li, Cable, Gambit, Jin, Morrigan (she's hot too!), and a few others that I can't think of. Characters I can't stand: Sakura (I hated her in every fighting game!), all the Megaman characters except for Megaman (they're too cheap), Rogue (talk about cheap), Guile (so cheap), Omega Red (all he does it grab you with his tentacle things), and others. Awesome awesome game, even if the music is somewhat goofy to hear, this game rules, and is easily my favorite fighting game out there. (Last edited by Xeolord on 07-25-05 05:45 PM)

Originally posted by Shuyin Hey, hey! Yeah, Cable is kind of cheap I guess with his gun / beams, but he's easily the best person to use on the final boss (3rd form). You can take him down in 2 specials.

I may as well ... even if I don't ever SIM, oh well.
|
As I've already stated to several other members, I think this "Whole" thing, has just gotten out of hand, truthfully this shouldn't be that big of a deal in my opinion. I've said it since the beginning, people are very allowed to write up their own rules for their own SIM Battles, as long as fairness and balance is intact, it's fine for them to do that. Our rules are not Global Sim Battle rules for the world to use, but just the "General" rules for people who just want to Sim, and don't really take it so seriously. It seems like some people here just don't want to accept this, and think our rules MUST be followed. But on the Shin-Ra side, I can say I agree with others, that you guys have come here, and have come out to be a little arrogant. I think if you guys were just more relaxed here, and not too worried about "Coming here and showing people who's boss", we'd all get along a lot better, with the other side co-working also. So, in short, I think this entire thing has been taken too far, and I don't see how it sparked to be something that's spreaded commotion throughout the entire board. People are free to have their own opinions, rules, and whatnot for Sim, we're not here to force those. But if you come in here as a new person, and show little respect and are quite arrogant, don't expect very much respect back.
