I hate losing pets. It's like losing members of your family who you were very close to and had a very personal connection with. I lost my cat, Harrison, a couple years ago and I still get choked up about it. Every time I try to think of what happened to him (he just went missing one day), I sometimes come close to shedding tears thinking about him being harmed or scared somewhere. Shortly after he went missing, I acquired two kittens from a friend who needed them to go to good homes. This same friend is practically the local cat lady. She has SOOOOO many cats that she lost count years ago and they are CONSTANTLY having new kittens. These new kittens weren't meant to replace Harrison. FAR from it. No cat could replace Harrison for me. Absolutely none. It's actually quite amusing how I got one of the two. My friend had me sit on a bench swing in her front yard while her son brought me three kittens at a time to preview them since she was afraid her house was too messy for me to see. Anyway, it's hard to be given kittens and asked which one I want as they look up at you from your lap, because well... you try doing it some time. You'll be staring into these little eyes with cute faces, all of which just begging for you to take them home and cuddle with them for hours. Anyway, my friend and I had already agreed before I came to her house that I would take her scrawny black and white kitten, who was so small, wasn't getting enough food and was getting picked on everyday (now he's big, fat, and lazy. Just the way I like 'em). So that kitten was already sitting next to me. But back to the amusing one. Among the preview kittens, one was a gray kitty with yellow eyes, who immediate climbed into m robe (I was wearing a bathrobe at the time) and curled up and went to sleep. I just couldn't part with that kind of cuteness. She was mine. And here they were shorty after that day:

It's a joke that one time Xeo wrote "destory" instead of "destroy" and since then people have been throwing that back at him. Personally, I still like making fun of the fact that he's from the black and white world of Kansass. |

You don't need Martin Sheen to tell me that. Also "abominations" according to that blasted book: - Eating shellfish (crab, lobster, shrimp, etc) - Women who are witches or spiritualists - Eating anything that doesn't have a "split hoof," scales in the water, certain kinds of fowl and so on. - Women being cleaned within 33 days after giving birth. If she bears a girl, she must not be cleaned for 66 days. - Planting two different kinds of seed in a field. - Trimming facial hair and/or shaving all together. - Cleaning infectious diseases. - People who have disease are evil and labelled unclean, yet ironically to be clean in itself is a sin. 
There are many more that I'm quite sure I've forgotten.

Gah, it's an optical illusion, kids.

It takes the complimentary color (the EXACT opposite color from another. Example: RED is the opposite of GREEN. BLUE to ORANGE. YELLOW to PURPLE.) of the color that's in the picture when it's in color, and your brain takes that and when placed on a white surface, sees the opposing color (the one the picture's creator wants you to see) and since you're concentrating so hard on the dot, it keeps all the color lined up on top of each other. That's all it is.

My 4th of July was all right.

It was the last day of Anime Expo, which I hung out at for most of the day with Zoso and then we headed over to our friends' party to watch some people light fireworks and such. One of our friends, Wakko, kept trying to think of things to make lighting off fireworks more interesting. He shot a bottle rocket from his ass crack, held one of those $40 fireworks that you light up and it shoots sparks upward on his head, and all sorts of random concoctions. My hair still smells like gun powder.

On topic, though, I hate when people older than me do that stiff, one finger "Come here!" gesture. It always meant you were in trouble as a kid and was always rather demeaning to me. I absolutely despise it. Some woman made the gesture at me in the supermarket the other day. I ignored her, until I had to walk by her and then she pulled my arm and told me to get something off the shelf for her. I got it and handed it to her, but I was still annoyed. She couldn't say, "Excuse me? Could you please help me reach for something?" like an adult would to another? Apparently not. It's petty, but I dislike when people do it. On another note, I actually like watching two men showing affection in public. I think it's sweet that they don't care what people think. But straight, gay or whatever, I abhor watching people make out or go at each other in public. Light kisses are fine, but if it looks like one is trying to devour the other, it's just EWWW.

No, Will & Grace is not a nasty show. It was a show about friendship, specifically between a man (who happens to be gay) and his best friend (who happens to be female). So he's gay. What of it? It was a charming show and made a lot of innovative, yet controversial, advances in television storylines and situations. How can a show like Will & Grace be labelled pornographic because a man might kiss another man? I don't hear anyone complaining when women make out on other shows. I don't hear anyone out there trying to call a show like Sex in the City (which goes into more depth about sex and whatnot than Will & Grace) a pornographic show. So your mother is instilling these ideals in you? (restricted) |

God, Jack and Karen were absolutely my favorite parts of that show. Without them, Will and Grace just don't work. Jack and Karen were so cute together as friends and just so damned funny.

Although you can choose to kiss or have intercourse with someone of the same sex, it's not possible to choose if you feel comfortable doing it or not like it fits.

To say that someone can choose their sexuality is like saying a person can choose the color of the skin they were born with. Sure, you can try to train yourself to not be gay or straight or whatever, but would that really be remaining true to yourself? You can bleach your skin, but you're still black. I've had family friends who have remained unhappy in marital bonds that they truly don't want to be in because they were afraid to come out of the closet for so many years. Being gay isn't a choice. Experimentation is. Coming out is--That is unless you were in a position where these weren't choices. People just don't wake up, look in the mirror and say, "Self, I think from now on we're going to be gay, just for shits. Hell, I can quit any time I want." But then there is that long list of people who say they're bi, just because it's trendy.
