Who do you hope to win the Democratic Primary? I know that there are other Democratic candidates, but since these two are the front runners I figured I would stick to them.
Personally, I'm for Obama. He is against the war, for education and environmental reform, for universal health care... and actually has a sense of humor. To allow you to make your own informed decision, I present their websites with the issues overview: Barack Obama Hillary Clinton (did not have an issues section, so it's just the main page) |

Obama, hands down. I was hoping he'd run and I'm so happy he has decided to.
I'm kind of bummed that he was here in L.A. and I was late on finding out. This is the first time that I've ever been able to vote for someone and it wasn't a matter of choosing between two evils. I really do adore and believe in Obama and all that he stands for. |

Obama because I don't like Hillary.
I'd be fine with voting for a woman, but... not that one. Definitely not that one. I recall disagreeing vehemently with at least something (and probably more than just one thing) Hillary said/did, but I can't recall what it was right now. Think it was related to censorship in some way... can anyone help me out here? Edit - While the above may look like a rather poor reason, I recall only a strong disagreement with her and no agreement on any topic. Now, I don't know about you, but for me that's a good enough reason not to vote for someone. (Last edited by Thexare Blademoon on 02-27-07 09:42 PM) |

I don't see a neither option...
Seriously, it's a hard pick. I hate Hillary with all my soul, but Obama hasn't had enough experience to be a president yet. He hasn't been in politics fr nearly long enough. Honestly, if either of them get nominated, there is no doubt in my mind I'm turning to the republican candidate. Especially if that one guy that's mormon runs, the press is trying to insult him so badly, that if he's good enough to get through them, he deserves my vote. |

I'm going with neither. I'd say why, but I really don't want to get into anything with people right now. I'm just not excited about either candidate.

Yeah... I don't know. In my opinion though, Obama is a little green.
Doesn't really matter though. I'll vote for whichever wins the primaries. |

And that comment right there is why politicians will never truly be accountable.
You'll vote for them just because they are a democrat? That's what is wrong with politics. People don't realize that the far right in the democrats crosses the far left of the republicans. Sure they have extremes in the other direction but to just pick someone because of party affiliation is stupid. People jump parties regularly not because of issues but because of power. |

I did not say that. But chances are, I will end up voting for one of them. But not just because they are a democrat. That would be stupid.

Okay. That's just how it sounded. And it's not the first time I've heard people say it. They vote for the party more than the person eventhough the party itself is usually poorly defined by the media.

You know, in a way I look at "not experienced enough politcally" as "not corrupted", which I think we need as a country.
As far as the Republican candidates go, I've only heard about McCain in the running. Nice guy, nothing against him... just not the guy for me. And for the record, as I have stated many times, I am not a Democrat, I'm Green. |

I personally can't see McCain getting nominated unless he's the only one that tries. McCain spends more of his time critisizing the republican candidates than staying loyal to his own party...
I'm not sure that there is a good choice ofr this next election. Maybe we should all vote for the jedi party. |

I don't know much about the guy. But then again, after what the Republican party has been doing, I don't blame him for criticizing.
What we need is someone that is more commited to the good of the nation rather than to party loyalty. Someone that cares more about fixing our education system and our healthcare, and building bridges with other nations more than they care about getting more money for their buddies in the Senate or something like that. |

the problem is that there is no candidate that can make it into the presidency without some sort of big business support. Sure, it may not be the same big business that comes up with lots of the money, but it's one of them.
We want "experienced" politicians, and then we complain they are corrupted by the system. |

I have actually not heard anyone say that Obama is not experienced enough except for here. More people seem to complain that he went to a school where he had classes in Islam and that he is either Black, or not Black enough. He does have the financial backing, that much I know about.

Obama hands down I don't feel like watching the country going to hell in a hand-basket. Hillary Clinton where to start...ok I wont for the sake of not starting arguments...I am a republican but before all the hate mail comes my way I am more of a moderate republicans. The reason McCain is criticizing the republicans i power is because he seen what happened during the mid term elections and he figues by bashing his own party he will get the votes. Obama has my support for the democrat side and Rudi Gulliani has my support for the Republican nod.

Okay, so I really like what Obama stands for. What exactly does Clinton stand for? I have yet to know what reforms she will bring. No one will explain it in simple terms, like someone did on Obama's website.
One smart move for Clinton is getting a MySpace account-- It means she's trying to reach out to the younger people of our population, to get them to vote (even if it is for her own gain). So will someone elaborate for me? edit-- I also realize I haven't had the time to research much on Hillary's standpoints, which is why Idon't know anything about her. ^-^ (Last edited by Belial on 03-22-07 05:50 PM) |

I tried to find out what she's about, but the only things I can find on her website are links to do fundraising.

Hillary. For two reasons.
1. It seemed to me she pretty much ran things in office when Bill was in there. 2. I liked Bill's term in office. (Last edited by Enyulan on 06-03-07 05:38 AM) |

No bumping here, Enyulan. You didn't contribute enough to the topic(pointing out inconsistancies, or generally debating), and this thread has been dead for at least two months.
