So Xeogaming, this thread is basically how the thread title is. Who are your top 5 videogame heroes? Why are they your favorites? And so on...

So, here are mine.

#5 - Mr. Larpus.

He is not really a hero so to speak, but he was my Idol when I first started playing Pump it up. There is no story behind him other than the fact that he likes to dance and run alot with a 90's rock band behind him all the way. He is my number 5 favorite because, for the longest time, His song was the main one I wanted to master on Full Doubles on Pump it up.

#4 - King of Cosmos

With a fashion sense that is compared to the Burger King, he Rocks my #4 spot as one of my all time favorite Videogame Hero. He makes no sence, does crazy things, and just looks awesome. I mean seriously, would you take a person who looks like that seriously? I would...maybe its just me.

#3 - Carbuncle Puyo

Carbuncle, no one fucks with him. He is the Yellow creature you see in just about Every Puyo Puyo game. Being the main master of Puyo Puyo, he can, at ease, make every combo work his way no matter what the circumstance is at any time. He also eats things, like you see him having one of the characters in the anime eat his Sword. He combos his way at #3, just because I think he can put Kirby to shame.

#2 - Kane

Damn right you cant kill this motherfucker. Not only did I fucking Nuke his ass with the ION cannon, but I also whomped the shit out of his douche KABAL program he used to try and take over the World. Now he dominates the Command and Conquer world in the new videogame Command and Conquer 3. He is tough, smart, Omnipotent, and rumored to know the secrets of his immortality. He is the Leader of the Brotherhood Of NOD, the Messiah, and a terrorist to the human World. He kicks everyone's ass below him in my #2 spot as my favorite Videogame Hero.

#1 all time favorite - Solid Snake

No explanation really. I have been his fan since the Nintendo days. But it really kicked in as my hero since the PS1 version rolled around. He stole my heart as my number one favorite because, well, he just kicks ass. Who else do you know that can stop hundreds of soldiers, defeat unknown special mercenaries, befriend an Otaku scientist that sleeps with alot of people, and defeat Metal Gear models all in time to smoke his Cigarettes? Meanwhile, on other consoles, he has kicked ass on his way to the Future Smash Brothers. How could you NOT like this guy?

No order, really.

- Reid Hershel (Tales of Eternia)
Well, he learns attacks can stop pretty much anything. He also has a "don't care" attitude while not being annoying.

- Solid Snake (Metal Gear Solid)
Ultimate badass, as stated by Nagis.

- Kratos Aurion (Tales of Symphonia)
Well, he's not the main character, but he's still super awesome.

- Might think of two more, later.

Well, I'm with Nagis on this, Solid Snake is just the top of my top five heroes.

So this would be my list:
1. Solid Snake - Unexplanable awesomeness!
2. Mario - The first ever video game I played was Super Mario Bros. so Mario's been quite a favourite game of mine.
3. Gordon Freeman - What other character gets to use a fricking crowbar as a major weapon!?
4. Master Chief - I don't even know too much about him, I just know hes pretty badass (Although Freeman could beat him )
5. Link - Meh, he would have been third if I had not got into Halo and Half Life. He still deserves a mention in my list though.

My list is rather meager since I've only starting playing video games in the last few years.

My definite number one is Kratos from God of War.

Basch from Final Fantasy XII right after him (See my profile for fan vid with him)

The others after Kratos and Basch don't really have an order:
- Wanderer from Shadow of the Colossus
- Auron from Final Fantasy X
- Dante from the Devil May cry series
Kyoku kun

I would say...
Big Boss from Metal Gear Solid 3.(Stfu!!),
Wanderer from Shadow of the Colossus,
Rikku from Final Fantasy X-2,
Alkaid from .hack//G.U. (*cries*),
Haruhi Suzumiya from Suzumiya Haruhi no Tomadoi (I haven't played it... but I need to mention Haruhi..)

Not really in any order.
Lord Vulkas Mormonus

Vile
High Xeodent of Xeomerica.

#3 Kyle Katarn from the Star Wars Dark Forces series.
#4 Mater Chief from Halo.
#5 Tassadar from StarCraft(Along with all the other protoss protagonists)

5. Kratos Aurion (Tales of Symphonia) - I'll let DarkSlaya explain this one. Not because I don't have reasons, but because I think he could do a better job. And because I'm lazy.

4. Cara/Krile (Final Fantasy V) - She doesn't seem to be any older than 11, yet she joins Bartz, Reina, and Faris to save the world from an evil wizard right after her grandfather died. Tough kid. And as an added bonus, not nearly as irritating, useless, or (in the SNES version) as glitchy as Relm.

3. Crono (Chrono Trigger), Ness (Earthbound) - Two great examples of silent heroes. Really, all I feel that I have to point to is the Telepod incident (Crono), and the Phase Distorter 2 (Ness) as great examples of courage from those two. I'd reference more, but I wanna keep this somewhat short.

2. Link (Legend of Zelda series) - it isn't spectacular strength or world-ending magic that gets him through his quests, it's skillful use of the tools he acquires. In a market filled with heroes with superhuman strength, enough magic to incinerate a small planet, or a gun larger than the person carrying it, it's a nice contrast.

1. Ramza Beoulve (Final Fantasy Tactics) - I hate giving the top slot to a Final Fantasy game, but Ramza really deserves it. It's been a while since my last playthrough, so I can't give any specific examples, and a summary would make me ramble.

Here's mine, hope you enjoy and agree, or else.

5 -- Unnamed Hero (Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3) - Kid, it takes balls to shoot yourself in the head every time you want to attack.

4 -- Eon (Granstream Saga) - Clothes don't make the man, a shiny bracelet which can copy broken items into perfect versions of themselves do. Good show for being an unknown hero.

3 -- Leon Kennedy (Resident Evils 2+4) - Nothing says badass than a man who killed zombies, and parasitic superhumans, and lived to tell the tale. Unless you suck at the games, then he died...probably lots of times.

2 -- X (Mega Man X series) - Like normal Mega Man, minus the kiddie shit. This guy means business.

1 -- Solid Sn -

Phoenix Wright to the rescue. The Defense never rests!

#5 Zelos

Oh boy... I love him *huggles her screen* if he were real I wouldn't care if he was a player because he's just flipping funny as hell. One of his skills is if you have him as your lead character you can hit on every girl and get items from them. BUAHAHAHAHA.

#4 Echo the dolphin =P

C'mon how can you not save the world with a dolphin? Plus one of my favorite animals is a dolphin. Woot.

#3 Princess Peach

Back when I was in my pink stage I liked Princess Peach the most. =P

#2 Red XIII

I happen to like Red the most because of the fact that his history was a tad different from everybody in FFVII and the only way he was connected to the whole Jenova thing was the fact that he was captured and experimented on. If he had never gotten captured in the first place he would probably have nothing to do with the whole game in the first place. XD

#1 It's a tie between Link and Zelda

Because you've got the whole silent bad ass trying to save the princess or do things for Zelda then you have the Sheik factor. XD

5: Samus.
4: Samus.
3: Uh... Magoichi Saika...
2: ...Samus.
1: Hmm.... The Wind Fish*. In name only, for it is neither.

*Considered a hero because he gets Link off that goddamned island.

This topic is way too good. I feel like I need to go out and do some research for it or something.

Anyways, a possible list that I might have (in no order).

- Megaman / X (f*ck Zero)
- Samus
- Link

Bah, like I said I really don't know. But Link is definitely first for me. I know its cliche' but whatever.

1) Vic Viper - whoever pilots this craft has had to go through hell to save the universe, all be it some stranger or James Burton (MSX games)

2) Bub and Bob- yeah they seem cute, but they always took care of business either saving their girlfriends, turning themselves back human, and defeating the Hyper Drunk and saving the people of the land from remaining bubble blowing dragons.

3) Mr. Do - not sure what he was trying to save, but he did go through a lot of trouble collecting sherries and defeating enemies to finish a level.

4) Pilot of the R-9 from R-Type- saving the universe from the man made Bydo empire was tough enough, but in the final game R-Type Final, one of the last stages was 15 minutes long and required you to survive long enough to go back in time, no boss at the end, but the levels length insured you had to somehow stay alive to make it.

5) Ptolemy the Witch (Fairyland Story, Google it to find out more about the game)- this little witch had to survive 101 grueling levels that were actually puzzles in order to get back the jewel from a large dragon (what the jewel was for I dunno, games back in 85 had no story usually).
