| I need to replace the motherboard on a IBM T40 laptop. I have heard that this is a difficult process. Does anybody know of a guide online with pictures of a video that might help guide me through this process? | |||

| Its not really that hard, so long as you can find a motherboard that fits your tower, you are pretty much good to go, however a new motherboard requires (Least to my knowledge) you to really re-install everything, and starting over from scratch. Least I believe (80% sure) your hard drive that has Windows wont recognize your new processor and motherboard.
Anyways, What kinda tower you got? If you can tell me that, I could find you a Pretty decient motherboard that fits. Also it would be helpful to see how much you are willing to spend. Oh yeah, and to place a motherboard inside a tower, all you need to do is just put in the screws in the right places. Towers are bullshit and are only needed to cover up the shit. I have a friend who had a Fragbox Motherboard and used his NES as a Tower. Worked quite well and was a good modification. (Last edited by Nagis on 12-23-07 03:54 AM) |
