S'been a while...so I present to you another novel by your's truly. :p

Right, so, I ended up quitting that second job. For starters, the manager at Bath and Bodyworks did NOT keep ANY of her promises when she hired me. For starters, she told me that a "call-in" system was part of how they did things. Meaning you were "possibly" scheduled to come in for a certain time on certain days, and it was YOUR responsibliity to call an hour beforehand to see if you were needed. When she told me that at the interview, I actually told her that I wouldn't wor out there. That I needed to be scheduled or not. That my boss at GameStop was already allowing me flexibility to have her schedule me first, but that I couldn't blow off my other job for a shift that I MIGHT have. So, she made a call to her boss, explained the situation, and they said they would exempt me from that. All fine and good. I know it's an exception being made for me and all, but don't hire me on the basis, and then take it away from me when I start working. Oiy!

But that's okay. I got all promoted and more money at GameStop. Work has been HELLA busy. Soooo many badass games came out. I seriously wish I was in 6th grade again. I'd have magically gotten the flu and stayed home from school all week to play said games. Haha.

But now we're in a wee bit of a lull. But it's cool, from now until September, I'm quaranteed 35 hours. Practially 40, cuz my boss knows I won't leave if I was in the middle of helping a customer or something. Come September, I'm going back to art school. So, it'll just be school full-time and working as much as possible. This year is going to be all about saving money. As much as humanly possible. Then, the following year, I'm going to stop working, except for breaks from school summer, and really important days, and keep going to art school full-time, but take three classes a semester at the local community college. I know I can do it, academics are easy. It's art that's hard. Haha. But my art school is paying, but only if I meet the minimum amount of credits and grades they want me to have each semester. In other words, by the August after I graduate art school, I'll have an AA in Business, Communications, and the academics from those degrees will turn the AA from the art school into a BA. I'm very excited, and though I've said this before, I think I may have finally found my way around this trying to go to school but not having the means to do so thing. Oh! And I also am keeping my hand in film a bit. I really wanna do editing on the side, and when I can afford a good camera, my own filming as well. Though they don't teach it as a class directly, the art school will provide me with the knowledge of how to create my own animation a bit. So, yeah...

Oh, and btw, Rogue...that was your voice reporting as well? Pretty badass. Did you do everything? Or did you have someone else film and edit the piece? Either way, pretty damn cool.

Been lots of work and reading lately. I also have the first draft of my fifteen page historiography due on Monday that I need to get off my ass and write. Went to my first LARP during the first weekend of March, it was pretty fun... I was an NPC, so I basically played whatever bad guy needed playing. Landed on a rock and bruised my knee the first night, which kinda sucked... but otherwise it was amazing. It was up near Pepperdine University in Malibu Creek State Park, really pretty place.

Next weekend I'm going on a houseboat for four days up at Lake Mohave in Nevada. Huzzah for spring break!

Thanks! I shot most of the footage in the video, and wrote the story that accompanied it. One of our multimedia people edited the video and wrote the script for me to say. This one has been my cleanest video in term of shots and sound. For some reason the sound is awful in my other reports.

Spring break can't come soon enough. I might be covering another protest this weekend in L.A. This one would be against the war.

You get to do all the fun stuff. *sigh*

I think you might enjoy being an NPC for one of the larps, the weekend games are really just $10 geeky camping trips if you're interested. There is another one Easter weekend but we don't know if we can make it or not... Ben still has a bruised rib or something so if it isn't better by then we may skip it.

So I bashed open my knee today. Brandon said the bloody mess looked like meat. Got stitched up, and now I can't bend my knee for 2 weeks.

The whole affair cost me 85 cents (for the Vicodin).

Heading out on a road trip tomorrow. Going to do the Renaissance faire in Arizona, do some light hiking, visit some ghost towns and all that. Limping the whole way, but I don't care.

Did anyone feel like spring break went way too fast? I woke up at 5 this morning to write an 8 page paper on my teacher's opinions of two books we had to read. Seriously. His opinion.

Editing videos from Lebowski Fest now for the Web site. Still need to write VO script.

Getting ready for opening weekend at faire. Shelby left Sound & Fury, by the way. Not that S&F was going to be at faire this year anyway. Shelby'll be there, though.

Anaheim Comic Con is on deck after that. While this stuff is fun, it's been transformed into work. D;

I need a job too! Hoping on Costco, Quick Trip, or Microcenter right now...

Other than that, yeah school is keeping me busy. But hey guys be proud! I'm still sticking with this semester and it's been fun, though I dropped Math... still got about 8 credits with two big 4 credit classes. I should hopefully be able to get my A+ Certification after this semester too, so I can officially fix your computers. Isn't that reassuring?

It's been a really busy week.

I'm currently covering Anaheim Comic Con.

Pretty cool. Saw Stan Lee, Shatner, Mickey Rooney, most of the old "Batman" TV show cast had a reunion. Julie Newmar is HOT and has a glowing personality. It's just been insane.

"CSI: Miami" was being shot at our school. I had to cover it.

It's also apparently Brandon's and my anniversary.

Well happy anniversary. How long has it been now? I honestly lost track.

They filmed CSI: New York at my work last week... not sure what looks like New York there, but okay.

I am so freaking tired and burnt out.

I need to make up a midterm for one class, write an 8 page paper for another, on top of another analysis paper for another class. Perhaps the most taxing and obnoxious of all is the fact that I also have to design a two-page spread for the paper and we don't have the stories or pictures for it. It's a pretty big deal on top of it all.

Wrote a few stories this week, including Anaheim Comic Con coverage.

Yesterday I guested on The Harbinger, a comic book-centric show on the university's radio station. Pretty cool. I had entrance music.

When it rains, it fucking pours.

My grandmother, who can't be left alone any more, has been living at my house because my aunt, who has been watching her at her house, has been in the hospital for kidney failure.

I interviewed Nadya Suleman (Octomom)'s publicist today. She said Nadya's had several plastic surgery procedures since the octuplets were born.

EDIT: Also, my mom's best friend has cancer. They found two tumors in her liver, and one is close to an artery making it damn near inoperable. They aren't sure if they can remove that one or not. This woman also lives in Australia, so it's really difficult for my mom to comfort her, especially since this woman doesn't want to talk on the phone until next month.

It's getting really tragic when you start reaching this age where most of the adults you grew up knowing are either sick, dying, dead, or really getting up there in their years.

My mom's hospital called back letting her know that they found something in her mammogram, but the first appointment to find out what that something is isn't until the 17th. So, with a history of breast cancer, including one aunt lost early in 2008 to the cancer, we're a little on edge.

Soon, we'll be pushing 30 being those hip 30-somethings with cats/dogs as our kids and driving off to Vegas on well-planned trips because we can't possibly dream of doing anything impromptu short of possibly driving to some rock randomly.

Jesus... Fuck you, cancer. Fuck you so hard you won't get out of bed in the morning. You'll just lay there and want to talk and cuddle and then whoever you were in bed with will say, "I'm sorry, baby, you're just too clingy for me and I just got out of a serious relationship, so I'm not looking for a commitment right now," and you'll cry and tear your hair, and have to go to therapy for 20 years because you have abandonment issues and you're worried your biological clock is ticking away and then you just kill yourself because nobody likes you and you think life is pointless.

Anyway... ahem...

Things have been pretty busy lately. Covered a few things like the Holocaust revisionist/denier who was coming to campus.

I also picked up a second major: American studies. I'm looking to finally graduate one year from now. Good stuff.

Just got back from faire. Went to Bogfest last night with a pirate party beforehand. Out-fucking-standing on both counts, especially when lubricated with spiced black rum. Had a nice happy buzz going.

No, but my mom has occasional bouts with it, her best friend is fighting it now too, and Stitch had just posted about the possibility of his mom having it.

I know that I'm going to have to deal with it in my future. Breast cancer runs on both sides of my family.

I'm feeling productive today.

Next week is finals, and I just acquired a book I need for a paper. I also just got a copy of a DVD I need to watch for a final in another class. There's a lot of shit that needs sorting out for this coming week, three papers, one sit-down test, and I also have to edit a video and put together a portfolio. So much to do... later.

Finally put in for a refund for my Comic-Con ticket, and pretty much spent the afternoon calling liquor stores in Arizona to see if they had bottles of certain ales (it's against the law in California to sell alcohol over a certain percentage. No such law in the AZ).

Got my Maker Faire tickets and heading up to the Bay Area next weekend. It'll pretty much be a trip to the faire and then we're heading home.

The past week has been pretty hectic. A woman committed suicide by jumping from the top of one of the parking structures on campus. People are getting pretty crude in the comments. Some of the editors and webmaster have been removing the obscenely offensive ones.

The morning she did it, while getting taken to school, the highway was clogged because of a motorcycle accident. Since it had just happened and the paramedics and police hadn't arrived yet, you could see his body laying strewn in the lane, unmoving, while some people who'd stopped tried to shake him.

The world feels like it's coming apart at the seams. I think I'll go join the circus or something.
