Yeah, I am still pissed over the Sharks just giving up in round three. What the hell, man? And then people are blaming Nabokov for the loss... he had no fucking help! Where was the defense in game four?

Anywho, caught third period yesterday. Was it me or was Chicago just not in the game?

Chicago was most certainly in the game. I saw them. On my TV. They were there. They just blew monkey balls, that's all. XD XD XD

Dude, I found some Blackhawk fans around here. I've been heckling the shit out of them ever since.

And yeah, truthfully, I hate when one player is blamed, sports are a TEAM effort, so I'm in total agrememt with you there, Elara. I dunno if it's because I'm an asshole and too hard on people, but I aways blame the coaching. Sure, it's not the coach that's out there playing, so I'm never TOO critical on the coaching if there's ONE game of crappy play, but then more than one in a row....seriously....get your guys together. That's what you're paid for. Their paid to play. You're paid to be a nagging asshole. That's how it goes coaches!

Chicago was in the game. It's just the Flyers were, too, and that's all that matters.

So, in honor of the Stanley Cup, Kala decided it was high time she addicted me to hockey. I think it's working.

See, Ben had that idea two years ago just because we started dating and he wanted to share it with me. So we watched a game... I believe it was the last game of the eastern conference championship and it was Flyers vs Penguins. My initial reaction was "there is a hockey team called the penguins?" And I rooted for them on principle, then I kept rooting for them because they were good. They won, went on to lose to Detroit and I began to hate the Red Wings. Since then Ben has admitted that he has created a monster and that I am more of a fan than him.

I agree. After all the hype leading up to the series about the goalies, there has been goals galore and extremely fun to watch. This series is already drawing comparisons to last year with home team winning every game until game 7 when the road team finally wins one.

All I know is, since i'm finally in to hockey, we had better win. Party!

But seriously, it would suck if the first time I got into it, we lost the cup. I'd be a little mad. haha

It isn't so bad, DP. My team lost that first year and it turned out well in the end.

But yeah, the similarity to last year is uncanny so far. Perhaps it is the curse of Hossa?

Where was Leighton looking when that shot went in?

But yeah, congrats to Chicago. They played a really good game. I am just pissed that Hossa got what he wanted. At least he didn't get the winning goal.

Now you know how I felt in 2008, guys.

Yeah, I'm pissed Hossa finally got what he wanted. But, on the brightside, the Flyers are going to be better next year and the salary cap is going to hit the Hawks hard in the offseason so this was a one and done deal for them this year.

Yeah yeah, congrats to Chigaco.

There. The nice comment toward them. Won't happen again.

I'm seriously SOOO stoked for next season though. I think a joke a frend of mine said jinxed it for the FlyGuys. He says "We should just put a Leighton jersey on a brick wall, and I bet people would be lining up for autographs, because they wouldn't be able to tell the difference." XD XD XD And I LOLed quite heartily, so I probably helped the jinx. Because yeah...bullshit goal...And you could see where Leighton thought he was on top of it. But then when I saw the replay, it was like "Wtf...How did you MISS that?! You bastard!"

My personal dislike of Hossa is because when I got into hockey in 2008 he was a Penguin. Then they lost to Detroit in the finals... so he became a Red Wing. Then they lost to the Pens so now he went to Chicago. Just jumping from team to team every season because all he wants is a cup, and if they don't get it that season he's gone. I just dislike that.

As long as he doesn't play for the Flyers it doesn't matter what team he plays for. We're still the Broad Street Bullies, despite the mellowing hockey has forced the Flyers to do, and if you're not playing with us, whether we lose the game or not, you're going to bed sore that night. And NOT in the good way. XD

Seriously...when the Flyguys were actually winning cups, three years in a row, the NHL HATED them. With good reason **cough** But still....but all of a sudden, when the Russians came over, who did they want to play them? That's right. Broad Street Bullies. That's who. And what happened? The Russians skated off the ice after a few moments, were threatened to get back in or don't get paid.

THAT was hockey.

All teams should play like THAT again.

Uhhh of course they wanted Philly to play them? They won the Stanley Cup. And you make it seem like hockey today isn't real hockey. Just because people aren't allowed to go overboard anymore doesn't make it otherwise (despite many many lame calls these days). There are still plenty of big hits to go around. Until they start playing with giant candy pucks and have to do a dance before taking a shot and cannot hit at ALL, it will always be the same great game~

I look forward to next season. I don't care who wins the cup next year (well I do, I want it to be Montreal. But if they don't...) as long as it's not Pittsburgh. You never know which teams are gonna be winners!

Exactly. Many MANY lame calls.

And, you know, since I was little, I thought it was only natural that the Flyers would play them because of them winning the cup back then. It wasn't until recently that I found through several non-Philly sources that it wasn't exactly the case. I'll have to see if I can dig up some of the things, and see if my gramps will let me get some of the documentaries off of his hard drive, because we've got a bunch of interesting things on the NHL (The Broad Street Bullies thing being only a segment once in a while) and I think you'd find them interesting, especially you, Seijika.

I think that's it though. I'm biased toward 1970's hockey. Because, to tell you the truth, hockey is a FANTASTIC sport. I love it. I wouldn't have played it myself for 11 years if I didn't like it. It's just that when it comes to watching other people play...well, I really can't sit and watch a sport on TV for any long period of time. Especially hockey. I just get antsy and wanna get up and play myself, rather than just watch it. I'm just weird like that. There's hockey, and then there's watching hockey.

When it comes to hockey, I don't care who you are, I love the sport. For example...Crosby...It's blasphemy in my city to be a fan of that guy...so, I have my fun and blast him just like the rest. What does he care? He's still in the NHL making more money than my life is even worth. But...as far as the sport is concerned, if we're going to just get down and talk about that...he's one helluva player and I wish I was just as good as he was.

I could go on and on and on (like I usually do) about hockey as a sport. The essence of it, I suppose (I am creeping myself out with my obsession here, so I won't be surprised if any of you are.) is completely different than getting in on the media slander and what everyone around you thinks. I was just SOOOO excited to see the Flyers make it so far. I'm soooo sick of hearing about our baseball team. I'm not much of a baseball fan. I was born into a hockey family.
