Pretty much post when you see something, new or old. This thread will give you a place to discuss recent things you've seen, especially if there isn't a thread for it yet.

I just got back from watching "Jonah Hex" in the cheap theater. It's really no shock as to why it bombed in the box office. It just... wasn't good. Even terrible movies have something that makes them bearable or redeems them in some way. Not so with this flick. It was like watching an even more simplistic and dumbed down "Wild Wild West."

What made it worse was the fact that the print of the film that we got had a line running down every frame of the film. It was really distracting, moreso than the people who brought their screaming kids to a 10 p.m. screening.

So what have you gone to see lately?

In Theaters: Inception. I love Nolan. I reallyreallyreally do.

At home: Gangs of New York. It's a flawed movie but there's something in it that I love.

I'm pretty sure the movie I saw at home was "12 Monkeys".

I know it's a bit old, but I enjoyed it. It wasn't absolutely incredible, and there was a lot of plot holes, but it made me think.

The last movie I saw in theaters.. was... Twilight: Eclipse.. Yeah, I know. I don't want your judgement. My friends were going to see it, so I joined them.

But going into the movie, expecting it to be absolutely horrid, I actually kind of enjoyed it. If I blank out every scene that involved Edward (or Jacob for that matter), then I remember a movie with alright action, setting..etc.

So as long as you block out the plot you mean? Lol.

Last movie I watched was the Rifftrax to The Two Towers. Hilarious.

So for some reason I felt like watching "Lady and the Tramp." So I did. Yeah.

I think it was because the Simpsons did a parody of it in their Valentine's Day episode.

Still.. why would anyone with their own restaurant set a table with a candle in a Chianti bottle, breadsticks, and tablecloth, and serve spaghetti and meatballs to dogs while also playing music and singing for them while they eat? Don't you have a fine Italian eating establishment to run?

Saw Scott Pilgrim in a theater a few nights ago. Last night, though, we watched "The Last Unicorn" at a party. I'd forgotten so many things that were in it, particularly the voices.

It's been nearly two decades since I last saw it. The animation's spectacular and all that, but man is it slow near the beginning. I hear someone's planning on remaking it.

Stardust.

I thought it was a good movie. Interesting premise. I think I shall find the book. They're always better.

Repo-Men, not the genetic opera one the other with Jude Law, it wasn't bad I actually might have preferred the opera actually but the gritty futuristic setting grabbed me by the heart strings

Vince, how many movies could you possibly watch in thirteen minutes? Haha. You think you'd post all of your latest movies at once instead of spamming

Haha.

I frikkin' love that movie. It completely tacks on another ending to the story and blows up Captain Shakespeare's part, but who the hell cares? Both are excellent.

Let's see last movie I saw... was "Comic Book: The Movie." I dig it, especially since it takes place at Comic-Con. I remember when they were filming it even. It's a fun movie.

I thought the ending was a bit too 'perfect'. I can barely accept that he was immortal, also. I feel like there's more story before he becomes King and such. And Shakespeare was the best. I still liked it though.

EDIT: Also, my layout seems to be lacking the background picture. Curious.

There are a few characters that were written out for time, but as I mentioned they sort of decided to go, "Well, the book ends here. Let's take this another 30 minutes further."

You're right about the immortality thing, though. Tristran (his name in the book. Apparently someone wrote his name as Tristan for the movie because the saw it on the back of a copy of Stardust which was actually a typo, and it ended up sticking) dies of old age and Yvaine continues to rule in his place.

Kingdom of Heaven: Director's Cut.

I've seen it before, but I think it's an excellent movie, with plenty of symbolism and a great story. I wouldn't watch the normal cut though, it lacks the 40 minutes that make this movie so awesome.

Forrest Gump

I've seen it before, but only when it first came out. I appreciated the cultural references more, and the symbolism was also received better this time around. So, all in all, I enjoyed it.
