Now, as funny as this sounds. I have, in the past, admitted that I would never get a tattoo unless I really ment it. Not to mention I really did not really want to fork up the money just to have this done. This Wednesday I am going to eat my words.
A friend of mine has a really neat tattoo of a Cross and "Only God can Judge me" in latin on his back. In great detail, and in full color. It looks nice, and it's something he has put in a lot of thought on. Well, I have been thinking about a tattoo and I think I might have come up with something that means a lot to me. It's nothing too challenging. Nothing too extreme, and balances out my favorites rather nicely. Symbolically speaking, it's something I would get. Now, before I share you the tattoo blueprint. Am I going to spend a ton of money on this? Well, short answer is no. How come? I have a family member who is not only a tattoo artist, but a professional one at that. Frankly, she is also an art director for a company you might know as "id Software". Yep! She does art for videogames. When I was in diapers. I had a cousin whom at the time was 19 years of age. When she became of that age she went to school for tattoo art, later down the line she went to school to work in art which eventually got her a position for id Software. Well, since the economy was rough. And her school was finished. She still does tattoo art as a "Fun side job". But right now she is a secretary for Blue Cross Blue Shield. She plans on going back into the videogame industry when the economy picks back up. Now, how much am I going to pay her to do my tattoo? In comparison, it would cost me $100 to get this done at a standard shop. But seen how she buys and manages her own tools. I only need to pay her the tools and just tip money. $30. Now, onto the main attraction. I kinda feel embarrassed about this. But it's going to kinda be videogame related. However, with a twist. You see, I absolutely love foxes. I think they are the coolest animals in the world. So what does a Fox and videogames have in common? Yep! Kojima Productions! By far, in my personal opinion one of my favorite developers, Hideo Kojima, has an image of this Fox as his official brand name. I have also thought about having this tattoo. But I just feel that the first image would be better. To me, I think the second one might be a little too videogame related. Just about everyone would think that the 2nd image would be something out of a comicbook or something. But the first image? Only a fan of the series would catch it. And hey, I like foxes. That's a cool image of a Fox. Why not? |

Yeah, unobvious videogame tattoo idea's are the best.
The longtime idea I've had for awhile now, would be combining Samus' (Metroid) logo with the Triforce in the background or some kind of Zelda symbol, maybe Twilight Princess'. Combining my two favorite series myself. (awesome enough for a tattoo) Something along the lines of that. I've always been pretty against tattoo's for the longest time, but I've felt like I'm more open to it thesedays. If I did get one it'd probably only be one and somewhat hidden, probably on the back of a shoulder. |

Speaking of cryptic videogame tattoos, the first one I want to get is the Symbol of Torment from Planescape: Torment on my left shoulder.

Hell it's only 10 damn dollars on gog.com I heard seriously great things about this game. So just because of this post. I will purchase it this Friday when I get paid. Oh yeah, and I already talked with my cousin. She does not get off work tomorrow until about 7 PM-ish. But she said that she should have all of this done before 10PM. Gonna meet up with her after work and we can get down to brass tax. Also, she has some amazing tattoos. Jamin' (Last edited by Bitmap on 12-08-10 01:38 AM) |
