I don't know how many people on the board still write, but I would love to get some kind of competition (just for fun) going. I've been going through a dry spell and I haven't written anything in months.

I would love to do something, but it will have to wait until summer because I have FAR too much homework to deal with. Maybe a nice summer writing competition?

What are the parameters? Length minimum or maximum? Must be a completely original idea or can be a fan fic? Must have been written this month or we can submit things we'd written years ago and polished?

Uh... well, since this is a fairly laid back competition I think I will allow a bit more than I normally do. It can be something you've written before, just not something you've posted here, though do take the month to go over it for fine-tuning before posting it up just to make sure it's how you like it. Fan-fics are fine, though obviously I do prefer original ideas. Max length... I still want it short-story length but a bit long is fine, so let's set it at no more than 5000 words. I don't think I've ever set a minimum before, but I guess we will say one sentence... though that'd have to be a damn good sentence.

So the deadline came and went, and not a single entry. Sadness.

Once there was a mod named Elara. She wanted to have a story contest, but no one entered it in the end, and this made her sad. To improve her mood, she wrote her own super short story and entered it in via the original thread since it would be a waste to make a new thread for it. Because she was the only entry, she won by default. The end.
