Sore throat.

Well, more accurately, agitated soft palate and uvula.

So, it hurts when I swallow. That's fun.

Nothing else thankfully, but I wish this would go away.

Get yourself some zinc (I usually get Cold-eeze, and man have they been a lifesaver several times over the past couple years.)

I have actually pretty much always made a point of not taking drugs when I'm sick. Like, I'll take supplements like Vitamin C and Zinc, but I don't ever take anything else. Most of the other stuff makes me feel weird, and just prolongs the sickness, while only treating the symptoms.

That said though, I do change my diet significantly when I'm sick. I pretty much cut out sugar completely (it really hits at your white blood cell count) and I try to drink a lot more water.

I'm pretty much the same, with the exception of keeping ibuprofen and acetaminophen around for my recurring moderate-to-severe headaches. Lifelong issue, unfortunately.

Turns out the day after bitching about the sore throat the problem started going away.

I wish I could alter my diet when I'm sick, but it gets to the point where I try to eat anything and sometimes the smallest bowl of cereal is all that works. That's the worst, when your stomach is messing with you and you want to eat, but can't down anything.

The last flu I recently had lasted 8 days, it was so crazy. Still some lingering sinus issues...

I've got one of those oh-fuck-me-for-living sort of colds that makes you regret waking up. Christ, the roof of mouth hurts so fucking bad.

Jesus fucking Christ. Had to do a run before lunch to pick up clients' meals from a restaurant a few blocks away and had to walk. It was sunny with just a drop of rain hitting my face as I got to the place. I pay, gather the foods and sodas in the cardboard holder, turn around and it's fucking pouring.

By the time I got back to the center I was feverish and dizzy. I'm not so bad now, but fuck me running for that hour or so that I felt like that.

Lots of rain lately so I was starting to feel crappy with all the humidity. But it's clearing up now.

Think I'm going to try out the morning lemon water routine thing this week...

Oh Christ, half the people at work have the flu and have this whole, "I need the money, I can't call out!" outlook on it as they infect the rest of us. I needed to use the restroom and walked into it smelling disgustingly of excrement and with the floor covered in light brown puddles leading up to the toilet. I washed my hands and got the fuck out.

It was one of my co-workers getting sick all over the place and she rushed to back in once I got out of there.

I really hope I don't catch this thing leading into Thanksgiving.

I'm still coughing.

It loves to hit hard the instant I lay down in bed so I'm up for a few extra hours.

I'm trying everything, vitamin c, lemon water, apple cider vinegar, etc... ugh!

Every other person at Thanksgiving either had a cough or ended up with the flu over the weekend.

I would say I managed to duck it, but I've been feeling like shit for a while. It just hasn't broached into being full-on sick yet.

I remembered that I was sick last Thanksgiving and my parents were nice enough to bring me left overs. So that's two Novembers in a row where I got really sick (twice this November).

So... next November I'll try to be more prepared, somehow.

I think I weathered through it all by maintaining my supplements. I've been taking vitamin C and a calcium/vitamin D/zinc tablet consistently while away, and return to using the fish oil and tumeric when I'm at home.

Seriously, though, zinc is your friend when it comes to fighting off and preventing colds.

Ah, Zinc! I always think of Vitamin C. I'll try to remember Zinc next time.

I feel like I cleansed my body a bit for awhile after using warm water, apple cider vinegar, and honey in the morning for several weeks. Noticed a lot of improvements with energy, digestion, allergies, etc. Used tumeric sometimes as well. But after awhile my stomach started to feel like it was getting destroyed haha, and I felt better after dropping it. I guess that will be one of those things I do off and on. I still drink a warm glass of water after I wake up everyday now though, definitely helps jumpstart the day and everything.

So the last few days at work have consisted of being primarily paid to poop. Does that count as being sick?
