Anyone ever feel like you should be crying but you aren't?
Anyone ever feel like you should be overwelmingly happy but you aren't?

I've been learning more and more about myself lately and I think I'm going numb.

I used to think that no feelings at all were worser than horrid ones..

Now I'm not so sure.

I like that song...

I always seem to laugh at everything...

I do tend to not really feel sadness though, things just don't make me sad...

It's weird...

And by "going numb" do you mean you can't feel a part of your body, or do you mean you can't experience emotional "feelings"?

I meant feelings. I really have trouble with what I'm supposed to feel and what I'm not supposed to feel. That may not make sense to a lot of people.

Actually there's a thread very similiar to this in this Forum called "Unnerving Calm"

I like to use the term 'stoic' instead of numb.

Don't worry, Makura. Your still young, and sorting out your feelings. I'm sure we've all hit that point in life atleast once. I know I have... repeatedly x-x. Time will tell when you'll be back on track in life, lol.

**huggles** I have to say that I agree. A lot of people feel this way from time to time. Some are luckier than others and may not feel it at all, or just not as often.

I myself feel like that quite often. What do I do about it? It varies. Sometimes I actually do go to someone. I'll just call up one of my friends at random and tell them the flat-out truth. Sometimes there's no better way to word it other than "I don't feel anything." They're always right there to do anything they can, and sometimes it actually does help. Just the simple fact of knowing that someone cares can give you the drive to feel something at least... No matter how bad the feeling may be, at least there's something there to work with.

Anywho...I'm glad you made a thread to talk about this. I know you don't know me too well, but please, if you need to talk to anyone and you felt that you could, you're more than welcome to come to me and we can talk or somthing

Heh heh, well I have felt it completely before, and I never want to again. It's not the greatest feeling in the world, especially when you are usually the type that cries a lot.

But yeah, I've been partially numb for a long long time, so I know. How long have you felt like this and as of right now do you still feel numb?

I've felt this way for about 6 months now. And yes I still feel numb. The sad thing is that it doesn't really bother me. It would just be nice to feel something every once in a while.

I dealt with something similar for a number of years sis. Situations like this I never really know what I might possibly say to help.

I know I've said this before but it bears repeating. Keep in mind sis that you can talk to me about anything.

When something comes along that merits feelings you will feel it, at least that was the case with me. I'm open for talking too, since I am the weird cousin-like person, heh heh.

Very difficult emotional state you're in.

Very recently:

I'm engaged to a WONDERFUL guy who's treated me better than anyone has ever dreamed of, and I have a great part-time job that I love. I have these wonderful things around me, but lately I've been indifferent to anything. Ryan (fiance) could come home with a dozen roses and take me out to my favorite restaurant, and I'd still feel this way.

it's very difficutlt and emotionally unnerving for me to go though something like this. There's no reason for me not to be happy, with the exception of my mom. So I should either be happy or extremely angry, but I'm just blank. Numb, as you put it.

So far, I honestly haven't found out of a way to get rid of it. But just know you're not the only one out there. *huggles*
