Red 9. Most stopping power, and maxxed out stat is 5.0 firepower. And you should never buy the TMP unless you want to waste space in the attache case. Also, there are 2 more handguns... The Blacktail and the Matilda. But by the time you get to those, your Red 9 should more powerful, and not requiring you purchase those. Save you money for the Infinate Launcher.

The Red9 actually gets to 6.5, unless the PS2 version is different.

The Matilda you don't get until you beat the game.

The Blacktail is probably your best choice, if it's your first time playing. It doesn't take up nearly as much space as the Red9 would (with the stock for it also), it's maxed out reloading speed is insane, it'll be able to carry ammo in the 30's, damage gets to somewhere around 4, and it's just overall a great pistol.

So, because of space, you should go with the Blacktail. Only takes up 4 blocks, while the Red9 and it's Stock is like, 9 or something. The Red9 is easily more powerful, but not as fast.

And where are you in the game? I honestly thought the TMP was great, especially for some bosses.

Just yesterday, I just escaped the massive horde of villagers and ran into the big castle. In my opinion, the TMP was pretty useful during the farmhouse ambush with Luis.

Keep the TMP. In my opinion, it's the 2nd best weapon to use agains't enemies with shields next to the shotgun (you'll be seeing them soon).

Fully upgraded, it's pretty good. Does around 3 damage, 250 capacity, fast reloading, etc.

PS: The Castle is when the game gets real good in my opinion.
(I've beaten this game 3 times, I just love it)

I can't stand the TMP. To make it useful, you need to surrendur about 12 to 14 blocks, and it's just not worth it. THe Blacktail is good for noobs, yes, but there's something great about capping zombies with a 5.0 Luger. Get's about 18 to 21 shots when it was maxed, and has great stopping power. I stuck with that my second game and got much better results.

To save my ammo, I usually just shoot zombies in the legs all the time. Then knife them to their doom. If they try to get up, I just slash their legs and back down they go.

Of course, this doesn't work to well when you're up against a small army, but it's great for one on one or one on three. One bullet, from even the TMP is all that's needed.

I chose the Blacktail over the Red9, but have the Red9 on a seperate file. That gun is just cool. Same with the Broken Butterfly.

Especially having the Red9 with Leon's Gangsta outfit. Now that was going through the game with style.

(that was my New Game+)

Question...

Should I have the semi-automatic rifle handy for the castle part? I haven't gotten a chance to play yet but I want to go into the castle well prepared. However, I don't want to be buying any crap I don't need. I've decided to go with the Red9 over the Blacktail for now. I've traded in my old shotgun for the riot gun. I've refrained from buying the Broken Butterfly since I will be able to get it for free later on.

The Automatic-Rifle in my opinion is an absolute must have. Have you started the castle part yet? It's extremely useful especially at the beginning (you'll be outside among the castle walls, enemies will be very far away, etc). And it's very good to have for bosses since it has very high damage (I think it starts off around 9?).

But yeah, get it as soon as you can. You'll pretty much want to keep the Riot Gun and Rifle throughout the entire game.

And yeah, just wait for the Broken Butterfly, or better yet, the Killer7 (damage starts off at 25, yes, 25).

The semi-auto rifle, can be very handy because of it's semi-auto...ness. You can pick off Zealots much better, which is a good thing, because some of those buggers you WILL have to snipe out in order to save your ass. (Spoiler: Catapults)

It's just a good rifle to have in general. Especially when fighting one certain enemy on the 'island'. =/

EDIT: Damn you Xeo, you got your post in first.

Oh, forget the Killer7. Has great starting power, yes, but the fully upgraded Killer7 is weaker compared to a fully upgraded Broken Butterfly. Unless you aren't going to bother upgrading it, then go ahead with the Killer7.

So it's true? What's the Broken Butterfly maxed out? The Killer7 gets to 35. But I mean, would you even need anything beyond that?

(although I hear the handcannon has a damage power of 99).

The Killer7 goes to 35, yeah. The Broken Butterfly goes up to 28, but, unlike the Killer7, you can max it out by getting the "exclusive" upgrade which brings it up to a whopping 50. I got it for mine, and nobody stands up to it.

Glitches
Change Race Options
When doing race events in career mode, there is a way to change the amount of traffic, catch-up on/off, and number of laps.

For example, there is a race in "Race events" in the blacklist menu. It is a sprint type race, and the track is "Seagate & Camden". Go back to the main menu, and select quick race. Select custom race, and do a sprint on "Seagate & Camden". Set the options you want (i.e. No traffic, etc). Do the race. Go back into career mode and do that same race in the blacklist menu. Those options you selected in quick race mode will apply here. You can have no traffic, and turn off catch-up. It also means if you have a 4-lap circuit race in career mode, you can do this cheat and only have to do 1 lap.

Skip police chase after a maximum possibility police encounter race
When you race any race that has maximum potential for police encounter, a police chase will ensue sometime during the race. After the race you will need to get away from them so that the win and money won will stay. To completely skip this sometimes tedious process after a race, wait until you see the "auto-save" icon at the top of the screen disappear. Once it has disappeared (completed auto-save), hit reset and reload your profile. The race will show complete along with the money credits in your bank account.

Easy Money when You Sell a Car
Before you sell a car, go to a One-Stop Shop and reset all the exterior body parts (body kit, wheels, spoiler, hood, etc.) to stock. You will get a trade-in credit for the old custom parts and it will not lower the car's value when you sell it in the Safe House.

Well, this thread kind of died, but I have an answer. Get the hover leg part that looks like the Tragos's legs, and Over Boost straight to him at the beginning of the match. This will probably avoid his missiles, and use your Saber when you get in close. Afterwards, use high DPS weapons like grenades or an MG with extra ammo on your back. It worked for me, hope it works for you.

And if anyone could, I need some help with the last boss in Beyond Good and Evil. I just... cant do it.
