Yep. You heard me, coming from me as a huge MM fan (as I'm sure many of you know), I have a dissapointment with this compilation, and it lies within my favorite X game of all, MMX3.

What's the deal? The music. This MMX3 game, is not the SNES port, but the PC / Saturn port. Yes, I absolutely love the added anime CG's from the original games, but the music is where Capcom makes me want to scream. Even though you'd think, coming from a CD based game (the PC / Saturn port) the quality would be superior to the SNES, the music doesn't seem to compare at all to the original themes and sounds from the SNES version. Some themes are slower, some don't even sound like the SNES ones. The sounds themselves don't seem to fit in very well with the game.

So, as I said, MMX3 being one of my all time favorite Megaman games out there, and the very sole reason why I bought this collection (I already own X-X8, except X3), I am severely dissapointed with this.

I'm sure The Politician, or others who have this collection and have actually played the original SNES version of MMX3 can agree with me, and see what I'm argueing at.

Seriously, this just makes me mad.

But I guess it doesn't matter. I'll still play the game, and beat it, and I still love this complilation, and it's not like this collection was going to stop me from trying to find and buy a copy of the SNES version itself, but oh well. I'm just glad they didn't do this to the MMX2 port as well (it was also available for the PC).

I was seriously dissappointed as well...

I think capcom did that so they would get away from the game being ROMS or something like that. Alot of Gaming magazines were saying that alot of companies were doing that on their games JUST to make a quick buck, and that people love to get their hands on classic games without having to but the classic systems that are so hard to get...hince either remakes or Downloaded ROMS...which is what I think capcom did was just put all of their MMX Roms on a CD and made a collection out of it...

Good thing I got it for free

Hm...X3, some people didn't like the X3 music period. I've read a few reviews stating this. But, X3 has some of my favorite tunes, as well bieng one of my favorites period (SNES X fo' life. Although X1 was WAY friggen easy, it still rocked).

If the sound quality is crap like you say, then I am outraged. Outraged with a " =/ ".

(No, I have not gotten the Collection yet. Fucking stores. This little city don't get much. We haven't even gotten Zero3 yet, and that game has been out for a while. We get Battle Network games once in a while, but screw those. )

Wow. Blast Hornet's theme is so bad, I just turned the game off.

The music isn't just bad, it's so bad you won't even want to play the game.

Really; it seems some people on Ace's likes the music a lot. I'll just have to see for myself, I guess.

My god I don't see how anyone could stand this music at all.

It's like they gave the soundtrack to some 4 year old and dumbed it down to midi form for the little kid to remix.

I'll be done ranting about this though, but seriously I just can't stand it at all.

You're still talknig about the PC version, right?

I played the ROM just today, the music is fine there. Side note: Byte is a pain in the ass until you can time your jump right. When he hits you, he does like, a 4 friggen hit combo. And you cannot just jump over him, he's too big. You gotta time a wall jump when the magnet is there bieng a pain. I've managed to get it down easy, but the first couple times... =/

I fought Byte yesterday, he actually seemed easier to handle than the quick guy in MMX2.

But yeah, I was talking about the PC version again.

1. Well a PC version of MMX3, i.e. the bad one.
2. Byte's in MMX3. Him, Vile, and another Reploid after awhile appear randomely during levels, like sub-bosses.

Quick guy? Agile? Pssh. Just hang around on the wall, and let him do his big blade, drop to dodge it, blast him with a charge shot, go back up, repeat.

Which is a good thing ... more interesting.

But yeah, I don't know. We're just different. I beat Byte a few days ago almost without getting touched.

I forgot what Bit was like ... (haven't fought him yet).

Bit is nothing. Just don't hang around the ground too much (you'll know why when he thows Halos)

After I got 4 hit combo'd to my demise a couple times, I myself beat Byte without bieng touched. He still managed to be a pain, it's just no fun being hit multiple times like that. Just gotta learn to time a jump to soar over his ass...or...head. =/

I was also rather dissapointed in Vile when I fought him in his area. I mean - come on man, you're too cool to be beaten so easily. Also (if you were aware of how the armor works in this game), which 'special' armor piece have you gone for? I kept with the boots, although having the Upgraded Buster might be better.

(Explanation: You get the 4 pieces of armor, but there are also 4 stronger upgrades for those pieces. Better boots, gun, armor, or helmet. But, you can only have one at a time. Which is why I ask which you 'picked'.)

Spoiler:
Don't pick any upgrades, wait till like.. the second to last level, and check every hole. You'll find an invisible cubby that will give you the Gold Armor (all the upgrade chips) if you didn't choose the super chips earlier

Found that out by accident too

Ah, so taht's how you get the Golden Armor, eh?

Well, I don't need it THAT much. Dr. Doppler himself is a MAJOR sinch. Although, Sigmas second form CAN be a bit of a pain. Luckily, he follows a repititous pattern. =/

Then there's a trick to getting Zero's Saber attack.

That plus the Golden Armor, is very nice.

Kind of forgot how to get Zero's sword though.

And for some reason I can never remember where the armor peices are in MMX3, as in X and X2 I can simply pick out the levels.

Well, I rented the damn thing since I am yet to buy it. I can see what you mean by X3's music. Actually, the whole sound is different. I'm not liking that at all. =/

I've beaten X2 today, and started on X6 (X2, Sigmas final form was lame. Did the same, easy to dodge, attacks over in the same pattern). I was wondering, what is required to get Battle and Chase? Do you have to beat a certain amount of games?

EDIT: X1...is by far the easiest for me. The fight with Sigma is not as easy as it was in X2 by any chance, but the game as a whole. Still kicks ass, though.

X is actually pretty easy also. Just use the Armidillo's orb-ball attack on Sigma's form, and it's too easy.

But yeah, to unlock Battle and Chase from what I've heard you have to beat X-X3.

It has almost turned into a back and forth thing here...anyway, for those who would like to know how to get Zero's saber...

Spoiler:
Step 1:Enter Viles area. He appears after you off two mavericks. Then, in certain spots, his capsule will appear (in Volt Catfish, it's the easiest to find. A elevator in a spike shaft will bring you to it), go in and fight him.

Step 1: b) Make SURE you finish him in there, don't let him escape. To do this, you must have beaten Neon Tiger. Finish his last bit of health off with Ray Splasher, and he will die. Then, when you go to Doppler Stage 2, you won't fight him, but different bosses.

Step 2: In the Doppler Stage 2, there is a bug miniboss. You'll know when you're about to enter it's room, because it's in the first door you come across. Get to it, but do not enter. Switch to Zero. Now enter with Zero. Fight the bug, and kick it's ass. When destroyed, the bug will go on a crash landing. A real slow one at that. Then crash into Zero, bringing his health down to 1. X will come in, and will recieve Zero's saber. Yay!

Step 3: To use it, charge until you're green. You will shoot, shoot again, then press fire once more to slash (I'm not sure if you need the arm upgrade or not). When you slash, I strongly recommened slashing from a distance. A blade will shoot out of the saber, and do good damage to the enemy. Furthermore, some little ball wil form on the enemy for more damage. I tested it on the Fortress 2 boss, and was able to kill it in 2 slash shots like this. It gets it by blade, thing stays on it, does more damage, and it brought down by 6/10ths. Another slash shot, and it's dead.

Oh, and it worked for all other bosses. Even Sigma. So try it out! Makes the final battle easy, so you can beat the game easy. Helps out with getting Battle and Chase. =P

There.
