OOC:
Only Leon D. Sagara, Kaijin Surohm, Xeios, Cairoi, Clockworkz, Voltron, and Elara may post in this thread unless gained permission through Cairoi or I. REFERENCE PAGE: From this point on this space will be used not only as the beginning of the RP, but as a refrence post. We'll be posting summaries of what happen on each page here for reference for y'all. ^.^ Hope it'll be of assistance. This map will help show the movements of the armies, to add to the visual awesomeness. Depending on the side you're on, post in reaction to the speech given. No interaction with others not on your side, because they're just hundreds of miles away. ^.^ 'Kay? Kay. CRUSADERS: A shining light gleamed over the large square of land, known as the Vatican Courtyard. The curtains were still drawn over the Pope’s balcony. The light was pure and holy, doves flew through the sky. But today was not a day of peace. The square was filled to the brim with men and women, able-bodied and clad entirely in armor. Their eyes were focused upon the balcony, all of their anticipation was building with everysecond tha went without the Pope’s appearance. He was late, everyone in the square knew it. They hung on to every minute, sweltering in their brilliant steel armor, the heat ws nearly unbearable, and the announcement was to be called at noon exactly. It must have been twenty minutes past, the sun had already drawn past its perfect 12:00 position. The curtain drew back, and a man was revealed, wearing his robes and hat atop his head. He grinned viciously, but from the crowd the grin appeared to be kind and loving. His eyes drew across the crowd. All of the faithful in the area were gathered here, over a hundred-thousand in number. How many would come to his death? He wondered reverently. His grin faded, the generals of his army were off in the distance, they knew the true meaning of this announcement, and the soldiers could only guess. He spotted Guy Danslarue from a distance, his black cloak made him stand out like a sore thumb. It was a mixture between a winter cloak and a priests robe. Being too loose-fitting and long to be a priest’s robe, and of course lacking the collar, but the way it settled about him, made him look priestly. His eyes shifted to either side, He noticed some of his other Generals, presently there was Jiang, Serphant, and Joan…Beautiful Joan. She had an air of mystery about her, and almost looked as if she could no more hurt a fly than a person. But the reports regarded her entirely as a lion on the battlefield. A beast of amazing strength and courage. His eyes jolted back and forth, everyone he could see, was there to serve his every need. And he needed something large of them. He cleared his throat hastily, and prepared his speech. It would be difficult for all to hear him, but they would know what he was speaking of merely by word of mouth. His voice bellowed out, and began a speech that would spark the Revolution. “People of the Church, There is an Enemy upon our gates! One which has come undetected until just recently. Their mere existence is Blasphemous to the sanctity of the human race. These monsters are demons that walk the Earth, fighting against God’s will, and tainting the very planet set aside for us. They dwell in lands God-forsaken, not only that, but in those lands they thrive! They have killed countless innocents, and feasted upon the children of the men and women of our great race. These Demons, must have their constant heresy put to an end! Some of our brethren have taken up with them, and practiced Satanism to gain ungodly powers. They have joined them, making an eternal commitment to have their souls damned, some even raise the dead and put them to use as an infinite source of vile soldiers. Now is not a time to be Dilatory, it is a time for action, a time where inaction will be punished by the fires of Hell. We must send these bastardizations of humankind to their unholy maker, and damn them to serve in the pits they wish this planet to become. So join this Holy War, a crusade against all things devious!” A large cheer erupted from the crowd with the finishing of his speech, and the crowd continued their battle-chant for a few moments. The pope made the sign of the cross with his right hand, kissed his ring and turned through the curtains once more. A cynical grin spread across his face, and he sat in a grand velvet chair. The church bells were ringing loudly, and the news was spread throughout all of Europe within a few days, the Holy war was beginning, and the world would begin drawing in recruits to serve God for a guaranteed passage to Heaven. MAGICAL CREATURES: Deep in the City of Geiger, within the palace of Zenith himself, Prince Allard stood in front of the fireplace of his conference room, watching the embers twirl and disappear. He wore his white cloak that blended with his long straight blonde hair to make an almost holy appearance. Underneath the cloak he wore a black formal shirt and green pants. He also wore soft leather boots on his feet that had gold inlets. He waited for his cousin to arrive with those he called for. He heard the door open and saw Tara lead them into the room. Allard turned to the people he would soon know to be comrades, friends, and brothers. Kael, Dolfax, Kirabo, and Fardog walked into the room with pose. Of course Tara would be close to him, but she had been since childhood. He smiled at them and nodded to Tara, asking for her to shut the door. “Good afternoon. I have called upon you all because of your contributions to our movement as of late. You all show competent leader skills, sense of strategy, and loyalty to our kingdom. I deeply thank you, and wish that you continue your service, albeit in a different way. You see, we are amazingly outnumbered against the enemy. No longer will it be small skirmishes and raiding parties. As we speak the Pope is calling all competent warriors under his domain to him. If we are not at our prime, we will surely perish. My father, King Zenith, is dead. He still holds the throne in death because he has not fully left this world. As long as the Pope is alive, the curse laid upon my father keeps him in a form of weakness. He nothing but a ghost filled with anguish, but he is still Lord of this Realm. He can lead it as well as he did in life. That fact gives me the opportune ability to lead our resistance. I have requested you here to demand you join me in an effort to repel the Catholic Church. You will serve as my military advisors and generals, and if needs be, take over if I am to die in battle. Know that I alone cannot kill Pope Urban II, or his most trusted officials alone. I would die in vain, and surely you would all be hunted. I fear the worst if their goals were met. Please, join me. I humbly request your assistance.” Allard then bowed to these warriors as a way to show his determination in acquiring their help. At that moment, Fardog stepped forward and patted Allard on the right shoulder. “‘Eh, ye’ not be worryin’ bout me. I’ll be at ye side ‘till evere dro’p of me blood’s all run out.” This caused Allard to smile and rise, elated by the positive response. “Thank you, Emperor. The rest of you? Will you ride with me, or take your own path?” (Last edited by Cairoi on 05-14-06 01:22 AM) |

((Posting better description of her now))
*Tara looked up at her cousin as he spoke. She had a very regal bearing about her, and held her staff gently upright at her side. She was tall for Elven women, but Allard was still taller. Her eyes, silvery ice blue in color, followed the Emporer as he approached her prince and kin. She had always like Fardog, he was a kind soul. She didn't really know the others too well, though she had heard things about them that made it clear why Allard had chose them. When the prince asked if they would stand with him she moved the small distance to his side, her waist-length black hair swaying with her fluid movements along with the silvery-blue robes that she wore over a simple yet elegant white dress and black leather boots like her cousin's, but with silver inlets rather than gold. She bowed her head slightly in sign of respect... since there were non-family members about* "You know that I am ever at your side, dear cousin. The deaths of our kin shall be avenged, and Lord Zenith's soul set free. I only hope that we will be able to heal the wounds in the souls of our people after this is done." |

::Jiang watched as the Pope walked off back into his hole in the wall. The look on his face told a tale of how he felt, as he walked off into the shadows of the closest allyway he could find. His sword hung behind his back, and swung like a pendullum. His hands were barried deep in his pockets as he walked, thinking only to himself::
That man is a fool. He understands nothing by beliveing in such a fake lifestyle. To belive in a "God" that you never accually get to see unless you die, there is no faith or hope for our world if thats how we all belive. ::Jiang disapeared into the shadows behind the local Pub. It was clear that he was angry with the Pope. But his reasons were still unclear:: |

As the doors open, Kael was set back slightly by the presence of the room. The nobility... He was use to the life of the trees.
Kael was a large elf. Even for human standards, he looked large. Standing six foot, and the size of a well built human, it would throw anyone off of his original origion, with the exception of his ears. The other demanding feature that he had was his heavily tanned skin, from being in the sun his life, and the silver hair and eyes. His silver hair hanged loosly down his head, a few strands infront of his face, and his mane easily reached his shoudlerblades. On his back, his bow and quiver sat calmly, and at his hands, lay his silver gauntlets. He was dressed in a dark green tunic, and pants, with dark brown, hand made leather boots. Made dicrectly from animal hide, and black rope. His silver eyes peirced forth tword Allard, and he fell into a half bow. His left hand crossed to his right sholder, and his upper body dropped slight. It appeared that was as far as his type of build could go. Slowly, he brought his eye level back up, and stood his full high, listening to the Prince as he spoke. Mind reeled... He usually was the lone wolf in these type of situations, but currently, refusing would leave him lost, due to him not knowing how to proceed... So the anwser came as followed. "It would be an honor to fight along side you, and the army. I put my bow and skills to your disposle." And once again, he did his half bow, his silver hair flowing downward. |

Allard was touched by the positive responses he had recieved so far. He bowed to the others and then looked out the window to his left, his eyes bathing in the sunlight. His mind was filled with hope and stratedgies, tossing and turning in his mind.
"I believe we have another guest coming soon. I feel her approaching." He then turned back to the others. "After she arrives, we'll be heading out with my private forces to Fort Brenethor. I fear for the worst if we do not arrive there soon." |

A massive mangy looking creature was slouching, head hung low, almost in a deep sort of meditation, but this was not a simple pleasant meditation, he was calming himself. Every thought he would have, every action he'd commit, would send his mind back to his mother. He had loved her so much, but she was taken from him, and he wished the largest amount of revenge possible. His eyes raised towards Allard, A glint of pure gold in them shone but only for a second, then they reverted to their normal dark brown. A smile was stretched across his sinister face. The whiskers on his cheeks were sent off in strays, and his matted black mane was unkempt. His fur, though it shone in the light, was glearly very dirty, and his tail trailed off and flicked back and forth. Though he stood on two legs, possessed a human chest, and arms, he was not one of them. He was surely graceless but somehow appeared to have a beauty of his own. A snarl erupted from his lips, a sneer and shining white teeth, possibly his best kept feature.
"Prince, though by title we are equal, your quest is now my quest, and I shall serve you until Death." He spoke with such elegance, it was amazing that the brutish creature could even muster or understand half of those words. Let alone string them together so poetically. The square continued in cheering for a few moments but began to clear out, this was big news, there was much preparation necessary to begin a war, mobilization could talke anywhere up to three weeks, possibly longer. But there were enough in the square to begin the destruction of these demons. Joan watched the speech respectfully as she sat on a small chair at a nearby restaurant. She was brought a glass of red wine as she sat, and sipped on it gracefully. Her eyes turned away as soon as the Pope disappeared. She smiled lightly and Guy sat beside her. He appeared to be something out of the priesthood, though Joan knew better. The Pope was not a minute out of her sight before she began rocking in her chair, she was suddenly energetic and almost incapable of keeping herself still. She had a loony smile on her face. Her body leapt up, almost instinctively, and began bobbing gently around. She danced through the people. Her lwhite summer dress was flowing elegantly. Joan sang a light tune while she danced, and drew the attention of many onlookers. Around her neck was the Papal Golden Cross, showing that she was a member of the army. But the design upon the golden cross hinted at her rank, being much higher than the average foot-soldier. Her dark black hair reached midway down her back, and being perfectly straight it gently flowed around her graceful body. A very large smile was spread across her face and her eyes danced back and forth until she noticed the clouds. She immediately stopped her dance and plopped down onto the pavement. Her dress laid out around her in a large circle, and she stared into the sky, her bright green eyes following the form of several clouds. She blinked repeatedly and smiled as she began connecting the abstract shapes into real objects. A Crucifix, a sword, a wedding ring, the eye of God. Many shapes appeared, some relevant to the speech, others just random thinkings of the cute little girl. Though her age was at eighteen, she was simply a child at this point. Her mental age was hard to pinpoint. Shifting almost always. (Last edited by Xeios on 05-15-06 01:06 AM) |

"Words well spoken.. But how would they be kept?" Freya said aloud finally walking up to the group. Her blonde hair shone as if it was made of gold. She looked at the feral and put a hand on her hip. She wore a hat with green in the middle of it and it was lined with gold. White covered the rest of it. Around the bottom was the symbol of her people, a raven. She wore a short, green, and sleevless dress with gold lining around the seams. On her arms, she wore a pair of green arm warmers that fanned out with white cuffs. On her legs, she wore knee high, green boots. The toes were covered with mythril and there were the same gold linings on them as well.
Freya's blue eyes seemed to wonder around the group. She kept an intent look. "I'm here because my husband sent me," Freya looked at Allard. She gave a sly smirk and put the other hand on her hip as well, "and my sister, my husband's other wife, was too fightful to come and help." Freya loved making fun of her sister, Frigga, and her husband Odin behind their backs. After all Frigga was more faithful than she, and Frigga didn't understand what freedom meant. "Some of the less magical humans almost found our homeland. I'm here to see to it that it doesn't happen again." Freya puts her hands down and then pointed to Allard. "I'm here to side with you because of the fact that less magical humans don't belong in my land until they are dead. Odin wishes the same as well. We do not need warriors until the time comes for them to die." |

A man stood at the Pope's side, as he returned to the confines of his office. This man gazed at the pope with unwavering, slitted eyes, eyes that were deeper than death. His long, slicked hair draped behind his neck, straight and jet black over the back of his black mantel that covered most of his body behind fine black leather. As he motioned towards the man who won the audience over, his thin lips showed no emotion whatsoever.
"An excellent speech, Father. Tell me; when do we move out? I am eager to put the prowess of our congregation to the test." Not for one second during his talk, did this man, simply known as "The Serpant" display any sort of feeling within his composition, except for a bottomless, endless miasma of what seemed to be apathy. Or was it just an overwhelming devotion? |

A shallow grin gently rolled across the Pope's face. He stared at The Serpant.
"Well child, mobilization will occur within the week, haste is very necessary. These beings threaten our borders. Now, go gather your troops, I have a special mission for you. Oh, and gather Joan, she's necessary for this mission, but as of now, we will only send a small group of soldiers to protect our borders, the rest will reinforce you later." The pope pointed towards the door, he need not say anything, his posture implied that he wanted the Serpant to leave and gather his men as soon as possible. The Pope's attention was split, half listening to the sounds echoing through the room, and half listening to the slowly dying cheers from outside, there were many in attendance, and all would serve until death. Dolfax grunted as Freya had the audacity to question his drive. He glanced around at her, and shone her an almost threatening glance...Ferals were hard creatures to judge emotions on. He could have been smiling happily, or gritting his teeth in rage. His sinewy muscle flexed lightly, and he stood to his full 7' 6" height. He cocked his head to the side, and examined this new girl, she seemed almost as if she was not meant to be here, as if she'd rather go sleep in a tree and ignore the problem. Dolfax was one of action. "The question of how I will back this up is in my honor. My people are courageous and honerable. Our combat skills are among the greatest when it comes to Melee. Your elven people are often much more knowledgeable and graceful in combat, and easily use light weapons and bows. My people are nearly invincible with a rage equivalent to the sun's fire. Our skill comes in the amount of damage we take, and deal. We plan on repaying the hardships we have suffered through with a fist of justice." Dolfax gloated cheerfully, he had almost a joking sense about him, he enjoyed the company of others, though it was commonly mistaken that his people were very solitary, they were truthfully a very social bunch. "Elven isn't our people. I am Valkyrie. We have heroes of elven blood," Freya put a hand on her side again and jeered, "and those of elven blood had grace in more areas than just combat." Freya laughed. She kept the sly look on her face and then turned to the group. "This is going to be very interesting." | |||

Calling Kirabo a "Magical Human" equivocated from the fact that he was, indeed, akin to humankind. It was only in title that you could tell this being shared, though as far from the source as possible, the same blood which ran through the veins of the Crusaders. But blood really means nothing when, in essence, you share a bit from everyone.
Kirabo held the mere shape of a human. Six feet tall, two legs, two arms, a torso and a head. The entire body was like that of a ghosts. Not an ordinary ghost you hear in stories, but his body was just a small bit translucent. What you could see of him was a dark grey, practically black shade of... what seemed to be a glass like skin. Unlike a ghost, he could not pass through objects; he was able of all human muscle functions. His face had no features; mearly the contours and indents of what might be cheekbones, a mouth, a nose and eyes. On top of the black shroud was a head of white curls with splashes of pastel color mixed in here and there. A unique specimen indeed. He covered his body in a white shirt, white pants like those found in the middle east, and most importantly a white cape that served as a small form of protection against the elements. "Spying, reconnaisance - all done better by one when he's alone. Sorry Prince, but I will benefit the army if I am separated, accomplishing your will behind enemy lines. I believe you know of my... well, magic. But I won't waste any more time or words; remember, I double as a delegate and delegates do delve deeper into debate when done with dubiously drab discussions. My liege, give me my orders, and they will be done post-haste!" Kirabo rested a hand on the end of a small dirk at his side. Only useful in his current form, Kirabo felt an animals paws were far more suited for battle than a humans delicate hands. But was Kirabo really human...? Well well, a question to be debated on his own time, as his life and clocks were his Kings and time was quickly dying as he awaited orders. |

ooc: Cairoi finally talked to Xeios, allowed me to join, and gave me a rank. I have his permission.
ic: Dveris had enjoyed the pope's speech. He knew that the pope was not the most intelligent, but it was clear that he was called to be His servant. Dveris only went along with the pope because of faith, and because they had a common cause. The magical creatures needed to be wiped out, there was no reason for them to have so much power. Dveris didn't work directly for the pope, rather, he worked for the king, assigned to work under the pope for a moment. He was also assigned to keep an eye on the king's other men. Apparently some of them were not entirely...trusted. As his assignment dictated, he had followed Jiang as he went up to see the pope. He could not respect Jiang while he showed little respect towards others. He spoke in response to Jiang, "Your words have no offense Jiang, but your tone and manner do. You don't want to create a fight." |

The Serpant gazed over to Jiang and stared him down. His bottemless eyes like a gateway to death itself.
"Go and ready the troops. We ride in a week. Dveris, if you know where Joan is, get her. If not, I will find her myself. I require her presence." He turned his back to them and walked out another door, and into his quarters. As he entered, he picked up his blade, the Harbinger, and felt relief. He knew he would kill again, and the time would be nigh. |

Dveris raised and eyebrow at Jiang, but said nothing as he walked away. However, to the Serpant, he answered, "I keep track of everyone, I'll go and retrieve her."
As Dveris walked away, he wondered at everyone. They were so...violent. He knew and agreed about the magical creatures, but everyone here seemed like they wanted to wipe out the magical creatures not to save lives, but simply to kill. He hoped he could find at least one person here who worked for the forces of good, and for the war. Very soon he was able to find Joan, as she was laying down on the pavement, seemingly daydreaming. She didn't look very violent, maybe he was lucky this time. "Joan," he addressed her, "Your presence is requested by the Serpant." |

GUY:
Guy had shown some dissatification when, once again, Joan walked out on the bill. He was running out of money, and red wine is a little more expensive than a priest makes. He would have to think of something quick. He quickly downed the bottle of red wine in a rush, his head spinning. He turned to the waiter and smashed the bottle on the table, ripping up the label. "Waiter, it appears my bottle has gone and exploded." Guy tripped over air and hit the ground, cutting himself on the glass. He screamed in pain and the waiter picked him up and took him outside. He laid him down outside. "Are you ok, Father?" The young waiter said, with earnest fear in his eyes. Guy smiled at him through an exaggerated wince. "Yes, my boy. Can you bring me a towel to wipe off the blood?" The boy nodded and ran to get a towel. In naught but a minute he had brought the towel and the priest wiped off the blood. He patted the boy on the head and handed him a gold coin, around 1/8 the cost of the wine. "Thanks for the help, my boy. Can you go find out how much I owe you all for the damages?" The boy walked into the resturant and Guy walked towards the Vatican in the rush, dissapearing into the crowd. "Eh, not a priest anyway." He walked around the courtyard and found Dveris and Joan, who appeared to be staring at the sky. "Huh. I assume the Pope is calling us in now?" ALLARD: For the first time in weeks, Allard laughed. He had gained the support of everyone he had asked for. The dark weeks that lie ahead seemed lighter now. "Thank you all for your assistance. Now, time is of the essence. Our troops await us in Fort Brenethor, the front line of our defenses. The enemy is expected to be on our front door in a matter of weeks. We must travel there, fortify ourselves and plan a stratedgy. I have horses down in the stables that will easily carry us across the desert. Let us go." |

Joan's eyes were still affixed on the shapes in the clouds. They were interesting and pretty much unlike Dveris and Guy. She was sadly drawn back to reality by Dveris' voice. She heard what he had said, but now she had to think about what she wanted to do. Her gaze fell slowly and focused in on Dveris.
"Serpant...that big meanie with the black hair and the slits in his eyes? I don't like him, I don't wanna go. He's mean and a smelly jerk." She crossed her arms angrily and her face scrunched up in disgust. Her gaze found Guy now, she also sensed him being there, but she didn't feel like acting on it until now. Her small fit seemed to melt away and she stood to her full height, 5'4" not that bad for a girl, still relatively short though. Her childish mannerisms dissapated rather quickly, and she stood with a large sense of elegance. Her bright green eyes danced between the two who stood before her. "Monsieur Danslarue, I do believe it is time that we began moving. The Serpant is drawing us in his coils, and we must do our best to make our presense known before he suffocates us." Joan turned to face Dveris, She smiled lightly and her posture changed slightly. "Would you be so kind as to lead us to Serpant?" The brutish Dolfax grinned as Allard let out a laugh of relief. He shook his head at the comment about the horses. "You know right well that horses can't carry me. They don't have the muscle. I'll be off on my own in a bit, I'm rather hungry and I feel the wind is taking me on a hunt. I love hunts." Dolfax stood, and bowed elegantly, a rather difficult thing to show with the way he was so graceless. He walked over to a corner, which held his massive weapons. He lifted the massive sword and tucked it into it's sheath on his back, and placed the scimitar upon a side sheath, fitting perfectly along his extremely stretched looking body. He stomped away, carrying almost his entire weight on his body as if it were nothing. He saw the forest around him and leapt to the side, almost crushing an entire tree. The tree was spared, but some of its branches were broken rather badly. The hulking body of Dolfax disappeared into the distance, a scream from a group of nearby birds was heard as they fled in sight of the beast. |
