When a thread is OFF like deleted what exactly happens to it? It is still there for a short bit. How long till it's deleted officially?

What do you mean by "Off" or "deleted"? Or do you mean closed?

It will say OFF next to it instead of NEW or HOT. I would like to know how long it lasts after this point.

ah.. I see. The reason it says that is because a Local Mod, Full Mod, or admin decided to close the thread because of a few reasons.. One would be that there was a lot of spamming going on. The thread may have been bumped in the past, a there was a flame war going on or the thread was stupid and had no relivence to the board what's so ever... but those are usually thrown in the game over forum.
The thread will stay closed untill a mod or admin decide to reopen it.. so if you want something open, take it up with someone on staff and if you give a good enough reason they might open it. |

Why isn't this in Help?
Usually, if a thread has really lost all of its meaning or had none to begin with, it will be closed ("OFF") and placed in the Game Over forum, where all deleted threads end up. If the thread has just been closed and not deleted, it will remain in its respective forum, but will be turned "OFF", so to speak. Although, these "OFF" threads will continue to appear in the Last Posts until they are bumped by more recent activity posts. |

Consider the 4th announcement down: the one that reads "Your threads and why they get trashed so quickly"
Threads are not deleted. They are moved to Game Over shortly after being closed. We don't like deleting threads around here. Also if your thread isn't where you originally left it. Consider that it might have been moved elsewhere. For example: this thread is getting moved to Help and Suggestions. *Moves the thread* |

I don't know when or how this Nazi thing started (especially since I've been out of town for the past week), but if you would like to talk with me about it, you know my AIM handle or you can PM me, Uzu.
In the meantime, since this thread has already fulfilled its purpose and the latest entry was simply spam, this thread can be closed. |
