Dude, that is totally awesome. I am so going to get one of these before I even think about purchasing another next-gen console.
The Mii feature sounds interesting, and I'm surprised that it's going to hit North America first, video game stuff almost always hits Japan first. And uh, the system is $240, which is a bit more expensive than I would like, it does come with a lot of things bundled with it though, so that's a plus. |

I'm wondering why exactly everybody is so surprised by the Wii's price. It's the same price that was forecasted over 5 months ago!
$40 for the controller is a bit much, I guess, but I'm totally getting one. Mostly for the fact that I can say, "Hey, everybody! Check out my Wii-ness!" But seriously, I think that its going to do the best out of all the systems. At least it has a browser, unlike the overpriced PS3 or the overhyped (and overly shiny) Xbox360. I'm thinking that Wii owners are going to get a lot more bang for their buck. |

Originally posted by Nelrith I've gotta agree about the price, tons of my friends were "surprised" too. Really, this is going to be one of the cheapest consoles at launch we'll see, especially with how future systems could turn out (I mean look at the PS3 ...). The N64, and past Nintendo systems all started at $300 I believe, or $250. So in short, I'm very happy with the price, it seems great if you ask me. Bad news is though that the GC version of Twilight Princess got delayed, and I really have no idea why. I wanted to get both versions, but I planned on playing the GC one first ... since it won't require the wii controller. I just fear the Wii controller and the ideas with it could be tedious or akward for Zelda, but I don't know. Simply put, I'm getting a Wii when it comes out. |

I am definely getting the Wii because of two thing: Primary for Fire Emblem: Godness of the Dawn and secondary would be making my brother's game look like shit. Beside, as the article mentioned...
I would considered that being plugable so that if you prefered playing with the wire. However, I am more curious on how the game controllers are suppose to work out like. |

You can plug gamecube controllers into the front of the console. Buuuuut.. they will also be selling gamecube controllers that you can plug into the Wii remote. Not sure if it's a regular GC controller or a special one. *shrugs* Oh, there will also be GC memory card slots on the front of the console.

This is exactly what new game consoles should be!
One question: is it going to be backwards compatible with Gamecube games? That would just make my day! |

Answer: yes (i think)
I really like that you can use the controller to transfer memory. |

Originally posted by Nelrith Yeah, heck there's even going to be some Wii games that only use the Gamecube controller (Super Smash Bros Brawl, and possibly Metroid Prime 3 I'd guess). So I think we'll still see heavy use of the GC controllers for the Wii throughout its time. |

FX, I think Xeogred was refering to one controller setting instead of having two... For example, in two controllers setting, you have two controllers to play with, meaning to use two hands at the same time. Unless if we are both left and right-handed person, we may considered using it but I wouldn't last as long with one controller in my left and one in my right. Hell it would be different for me to moving and shoot at the same time with TWO seperates controllers at the same time. I prefer one controller with two hands.
This makes varies of games easier to play with althrough the nunchuck or Wii Remote (what the hell? What does a nunchuck look like anyway?) would be required to play with Wii Sport or fighting simulation game. Of course, I can see Metroid Prime using a GC controller if people are having a hard time with the Wii remote, you know. |

But, that's the whole point of the Wii remote, people aren't going to have a hard time. It is extremely instinctual. As for what the nunchuck looks like. *begins to rummage for image*

Friend of mine showed me this interesting article.
"Nintendo Wii: Secretly more expensive than Xbox 360?" It does make several good points, but yeah ... I'm still getting a Wii. Its not like everything mentioned in this article is an absolute must buy. And you could counter with the addition of 360 accessories on top of the console prices itself. Felt like posting that... And the reason people were so excited/surprised at the price was that it was previously announced to be 200, but it was rumored to go up 50 to 100 dollars. |
