Check this out.

I think it would be awesome to have personally, that way I could play games like Seikden Densetsu 3, Tales of Phantasia, Terranigma, etc, on my SNES like real games (and then probably beat them ).

Here's another cool site that basically shows you how to really put a rom unto a cart.

Interesting stuff.

I beat it. Simply put, I freaking beat Thunder Force IV (I own it for the Genesis now, under the Lightening Force name though).

By far one of the best experiences in my life, ever.

I've owned Thunder Force IV for nearly 2 months now, and almost daily I've been playing it and trying to beat it. First, I was stuck at level 7 for who knows how long, since that stage provides a high level of difficulty since there's 4 minibosses, and then an annoying final boss.

Then I got to level 8 recently. It wasn't all that tough, until I got to the boss, that has about 4 stages to take him completely down (stages like, first blow up these cannons, then his arms, etc).

Then finally level 9 a few days ago, but I ended up dying right off the bat with the intro to the level, which simply starts off with a boss you meet from level 5.

Then yesterday, I defeated that boss only to learn it was only the first boss of that level. You then fight this insanely crazy final boss that takes up 80% of the screen, shoots beams that bounce off the walls of the game, and eventually shoots about 20 (not exagerated) balls at you that cover the entire screen, has a good deal of stages to take down, and so on..

How I beat that boss last night, I have no idea.

I did so well last night it was incredible, getting to level 8 without losing a continue. My fnal score at the end of the game (in total) was 2302180.

By far, a videogame accomplishment to remember for myself.

Thunder Force IV is quite simply put, one of the best shooters out there, if not, the best. Even though after the first 4 levels, the difficulty drastically goes up, it's still a fun game. The character and enemy designs are so impressive it's stuff you wouldn't expect to see on only a 16 bit system. I don't even know where to begin with the music, this game by far has the best music I have ever heard on the Genesis. Think of industrial metal, and you've got the music here. The gameplay is fun, innovative, the weapons are great, and everything. And if you ever manage to beat this masterpeice, you'll feel a great level of accomplishment.

By far one of my favorite games out there.

I also loved Thunder Force AC (Thunder Spirits, AKA 3 for the SNES or Genesis) to death. This series is definitely pretty underated, and it really SHOULD be mentioned among other great and better known shooter series such as R-Type, and Gradius in my opinion.

Definitely check these games out if you're looking for some good old school shooting action, and high difficulty, but with satifying results.

I've never forget the Christmans I got Donkey Kong Country.

Right after I got it, and we were all done opening presents, I ran to room and played the game to death. In that day I made it all the way to the 4th world (Ice area), and from there on I played that game almost daily, alone, with friends, for quite some time.

Well ... like everyone else said, that is pretty odd.

Mine were all gone around the end of Elementary School, maybe even before that.

What's going on with everybody's lives nowadays?

I just got curious a few minutes ago while eating my dinner cereal.

It's been a Long, Long Time ago in a Galaxy Far Far Away, since I've been on AIM.

Myself?

Same. School, enjoying my Game Design class. Work, getting a hectic 30some hours in weekly around school. Having fun driving in my car. Still headbanging to Power Metal. Still loving Mai (So yeah, I'm still single). And, still spending 70% of my finances videogames.

Hey, I do finally own some anime. I bought the entire Rahxephon boxset for $55 a few months ago.

The sad news?

It's still sealed in the plastic wrap, months later.

And that's basically my life right now. Yeah, I'm exciting.

I actually barely beat it last night again without using continues.

But, I ended up killing myself on purpose.

I was at level 7, which like I said before, is the level with a total of 5 bosses. The final one being nearly impossible to beat without getting hit when you don't have any powerups. But, in the level there's a part right before the final boss with a Life, in a "hole" in the level, also with hidden powers: Sheild, Wing (upgraded main weapon, really effective), and Claw (the two ball things that spin around you, blocking beams and also shooting lasers / stuff out of them.

But, I had no lives, and I figured there was pretty much no way I could attempt the main boss of that stage with the regular double laser gun, and no lives. To get that Life in the "hole" and the other powerups, I would have had to sacrifice a life, which I just didn't have. So I gave up and killed myself to start the level over with lives.

So, yeah, I guess you could say I wouldn't have beaten it without using continue's, but I've gotten much better.

It's just one of those games where you really have to get to know the levels, and know where the powerups are. I highly doupt anyone could blast through the game and beat it in their first time playing the game.

I've heard of the Pachi games. What were they for?

This looks pretty interesting. Even though the only games I recongnized on the list were Bobble Bubble, and Elevator Action, I'd be up for trying out new games (as I did with Capcom's recent Classic Collection, which I'd say was excellent. It's also $20, and definitely worth it).

When did this come out? I don't think I've ever heard of it until now.

And is that a standard Bobble Bubble game? I've never seen one like that, then again the only one I've played was the one on the SNES (which involved you shooting balls at other matching ones).

Definitely. It's one of the very few animes I'd say I'd prefer the dub over the sub with.

I don't know what to say though. Is it bad that I'm 18 and still hold very little interest in politics?

I think my interest has sparked up since the last couple of months since I'm taking American Government, but in the end I just can't ignore the government's faults, hypocritical actions, and the way people are easily controlled, and so on.

I just find myself saying "It's pathetic" quite often.

Ever since I've been in the class, I've just seemed to see more hypocritical things in our world.

Yeah, we got midterms today also. All my grades were pretty good. I have a C+ in English (but it's only mid-term, that'll probably go up) but the funny thing is that the class average is a 68%.

So who's excited for Thanksgiving Break?

Hey guess what, I'm not!

I have school Monday, and Tuesday, and that's it.

BUT, then I'll be pulling a 12 hour shift off on Wednesday (7 to 7, open to close) for work. Supposedly, my Manager insists we'll be doing 120 some cars that day (all employee's are going to be working crazy hours next week), and Friday. Which yeah, I'm so lucky I'll be working 7 to 6 Friday. Oh, then 7 to 6 Saturday. Oh, don't forget Sunday's 9 to 5.

So, I'll get to work Open to Close, Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun.

I'll be shocked if I DON'T hit overtime (over 40 hours in a week).

I don't want Thanksgiving.

Oh yeah, and the cold weather won't help a bit either.

It's possible that I could put up a decent version of MoD for us to check out (of course everything would be inactive, registering, posting, etc, but we could all look at it for reference).

I was browsing my old old AcmlmBoard Kingdom-sized-folders and found a board backup from "October 16, 2004" at about 19mb, so there will more than likely be around 20,000 posts or so on. So it'll probably be pretty correct compared to the time MoD went down.

Would you guys be interested in this? I don't have anymore db space on my server here, but I could probably set it up somewhere else (say funpic.org) for us to check out.
