So, are any of these games in 3D? Really, I have to say a prefer sprites, but if its 3D it won't bother me too much, just something I'd prefer ... (not literally 3D, just the objects in the game).

But yeah, I held off on Gradius III + IV only because of the price, but I still really want to get it. I've heard great things about IV, and I've really wanted to play the arcade version of III for a long time (since I hear it's a more true version of the game, over the SNES one). I've played a bit through emulation, but I for some reason really suck at these games with the keyboard ... I've only gotten past the first level, then again the arcade version is just ... mind blowing in difficulty I'm guessing.

And I picked up Einhander today. Its 3D, and a little different from what I expected, but still not to bad. I was a little disappointed with the music however (especially coming from Square), but there were a few cool boss themes. Overall I'd say Thunder Force V would be a better choice, in terms of a 3D PSX shooter.

So yeah, after getting all of these guess I'll be on a hunt for R-Type III, and possibly R-Type Delta.

Honestly, I'm not too big on R-Type as I am with Gradius and Thunder Force, but from what I've heard, read, and judging from screenshots, most people say Super R-Type is one of the least favored games in the series, so all of the others could be a lot better. (Super R-Type is the only one I've played actually, and bits of R-Type III through emulation).

Edit: I remembered I also owned Life Force, and according to this site it has some kind of involvement with the Gradius series?

Dave Mustaine certainly has cleaned up over the years, and far beyond his drinking. He's still with Megadeth and now a Christian (yes, really), doing a great job of standing for what he believes in. The way things are now, Megadeth > Metallica.

Honestly, I'm starting to think I might like Megadeth-everything more than Metallica. I don't know what it is about Megadeth, but I just really like their stuff and Dave.

Their music just seems to have a harder edge to it, and it seems a little more powerful in the areas of thrash.

I don't know, I mean Metallica is great, and a staple in the development of Metal, but they're not the only great Thrash Metal band out there. (or, guess I should say they weren't ... since the new stuff stinks, honestly I don't even really like The Black Album ).

Well it's reassuring that my dad told me today, they're trying their best to find a place with a finished basement that I could have to myself.

For a minute when I thought about posting this, I thought "It seems kind of selfish to feel like I need my own basement", but then I thought elsewise. I mean, I've lived in 11 different homes, it would be great to have my own dungeon in the house to myself after all of this hassle.

But I might not get my own bathroom, but oh well.

Yeah, and I'm sure they work a lot better than the first American NES console.

I remember mine got so bad, I had to clean both the game and the console every time I played a game with a cleaning kit. Then again maybe I just played too much back then.

Now, I think it should be pointed out that there is sometimes a HUGE difference between the pictures you guys are posting, and the pictures that are actually in the album.

It's actually kind of funny.
(Drizzt especially, I mean no offense. Just quite a gap there).

By the way Drizzt, loan me a goatee.

Anyways, I'll see about getting one of my Senior pictures up here if I can. It'll be cheesy, but you guys will get to SEE me, and with shorter hair (debating about keeping my hair now though). I just envy everyone of you because you all look your ... me? I look like I'm 15.

Just don't expect the modesty that Spyware gave off in page 23, I just wore ... jeans, and a button up shirt.

Of all the matches so far, this one ...

Doom Guy vs Kirby, is coming off as the most intense.

Awesome.

6 v 6 as of now.

I'll have to try emulating these out sometimes.

And I got Gradius V in the mail today ... the bad thing? My PS2 won't read it, no matter what. My PS2 has been pretty good with Disc Read errors lately, but it seems like this is just going to be one of those games it won't play (along with Xenosaga, etc ...).

I just really should invest in a newer slim PS2 that works better.

Geez. If I had some more money, I would've bought Alive '95 (German Import). This, and Queensr˙che's first album. And some porn.

Skeletons In The Closet officialy has the most awesome coverart/booklet/backcover EVER.

On a side note: I'm having my Dream Theater pics ready, as well as short videoclips we took.

HOLY SHIT. THE GAMMA RAY SHOW I'M GOING TO IS GONNA BE FILMED AND RELEASED AS AN OFFICIAL DVD.

You fucking just went past level 99. FREAKINGAWESOME!

But yeah, if you like Skelatons in the Closet (and I can agree, the box art is extremely awesome, but the booklet in Blast From the Past is cooler in my opinion), then you'd easily love Alive '95.

And you suck because you have pwned me like Goku eats food.

Still, I can only watch anime at my friends houses, but I've gotten into anime more recently compared to how much I used to watch a few months ago.

Monster, Robotech (hell yeah), Banner of the Stars, Master Keaton, are the few awesome anime's that come to mind that I've seen recently.

Also saw the movie to Fist of the Northstar (I'll make a thread).

And then my friend showed me this anime that has to do with bread, and there's like 70 episodes. Wacked out.

I saw the first movie, I thought "enjoyable".

It seems intrigueing, but people died too easily and it was like half the characters seemed worthless. And like some of my friends said, it does seem like Dragonball Z, but with violence.

And oh the violence ... what can I say about exploding heads? Well, I thought it was overdone, nothing that made me feel sick or anything, but I thought that the movie was -so- gory, it was almost funny (and probably the goriest anime I've ever seen, up with Elfen Lied).

I don't know, it was a decent movie. Nothing my friends and I wanted to turn off, but we did laugh quite a bit. I guess you would get more out of it with watching the actual series, and more of the movies.

And how about the New Fist of the Northstar? Wow, it's probably the goriest anime out there. The bodily explosions are so disgustingly detailed you can see chunks of brain, intestines, and so forth exploding out of people ... yikes. (I just saw random parts my friend showed me).

So yeah, I guess for people who are looking for Dragonball Z, with a thin plot, but with extreme gore, look no further than Fist of the NorthStar.

(PS: I almost died of laughter when Ken first did the Bruce Lee screams, it came out of nowhere).

I had a thread called something like Movies everyone loves BUT you, so here's the vice to that versa.

There's gotta be some movie out there that you love, but most anyone else that you run into hates. I've come across this situation with many movies I like to talk about because I tend to like obscure films that most people ignore when they come out or are otherwise practically unknown and so on.

So a few films off the top of my head:
- Army of Darkness
- Godzilla (most of them, they're just so cheesy. You gotta love them)
- Shock Treatment
- Willow
- Hook

I'll post more when I can think of them.

People you know hate ... Army of Darkness? They'd get run over by my friends over here.

Heck, I thought both Evil Dead movies were great too (people seem to talk about Army of Darkness and never mention Evil Dead).

And yeah, I never had a problem with the Godzilla movies ... just the American one. It was just, weird.

My list:
- Jurassic Park: Maybe not everyone exactly hates this movie, but nobody talks about it. I talk about it like a pure classic, and it still remains as one of my ultimate favorite movies of all time.
- Total Recall: Again, people don't hate this movie, but I thought it was far better than what most would say.

Honestly that's all I can think of.

The thing is, I'm thinking about getting into Berserk instead.

Berserk just seems insanely deep, and I hear the characters and plot are outstanding.

I don't know, when I think of Fist of the NorthStar, Berserk also comes to mind, and vice versa. Probably just because they both excell to extremes in terms of violence.

I honestly didn't like Gasaraki at all. It was just ... way too deep, or something. It was just hard to understand what the hell was going on at times.

I didn't think it was that great, honestly.

The good games it had though, were incredible. I remember playing Virtua Fighter and Virtual Cop 2 a lot at a friends house.

I really wish I would have gotten a chance to play Nights though, it should have been on one of the Sonic Mega Collection.
