I honestly don't think many here know much ... VGFreak should probably know a great deal though. |

It's nice. Has seat warmers, top hood window, drives extremely smoothly, etc ... But, with 150,000+ miles on it, it's obviously aged. The gas mileage I get is absolutely horrible, I don't know per gallon, but I get about 200 miles a tank. Almost everyone at my work is telling me they get at least 300 per tank, and some of them have some pretty junky cars. I have to fill up almost every week it seems, or at the most a week and a half. Then again, since I drive to school everyday which is probably a 40 minute trip there and back alone, I drive quite a bit. Other than that though it's in great condition, all the fluids are all fine, air filter looks brand new, etc. At my work so far I've changed the oil twice when needed (decided to put in Full Synthetic this second time around). We tried to do a lot to save gas mileage, but nothing has helped at all. We replaced the PCV Valve, did fuel emissions, replaced the fuel filter, etc, and my gas mileage hasn't increased a bit after all of this. But oh well, it's a nice car, and I like it a hell of a lot more than what I used to drive. A 93' Chrysler Newyorker. (Last edited by Xeo on 04-19-06 12:20 AM)

Don't forget the technical godliness of Yngwie Malmsteen!
|
Alright, maybe I'm being a hypocrit since I actually don't own any of his albums yet, but reading about him, and having heard a few songs from his Rising Force album that my dad showed me (some Yahoo music thing my dad is signed up with), I really liked it a lot, and he really intrigues me since he uses apprezzio's and seems to take on a similar style that Luca Turilli uses. But yeah, CoB is pretty great. I haven't heard a full album yet, but I have some songs here and there that people have sent me. Can't say I've heard any of Synergy yet, but I'll have to check them out. And if you guys enjoy CoB, you'd probably also like Ensiferum. Songs can be found in my metal thread. I always think of those two together, since the vocals are extremely similar.

Alright, I'm really getting into 80's-90's Metal at the moment. I've bought both Skid Row's first two albums, and I love them to death. They just seem a little different than most Glam Metal at the time, they seem a little more serious, and like they have a sharper edge to their works ... I don't know, it's hard to explain but yeah.
|
Also, my dad's shown me a handful of songs that he listened to back in the day, since he's a musician also. He's always only played Christian Rock stuff ever since I've known him, but 18 years ago he was into the stuff I like now. One band he showed me was Dokken. I have to say, I really like them a lot. Don Dokken (vocals) singing really reminds me of Hammerfall, and I'd have to say it seems like Hammerfall was somewhat influenced by them. George Lynch's solo's in the band are marvelous. And like Skid Row, they seem a little more 'serious' than most Big Hair / Glam stuff at that time. And according to the booklet with the album I got, they usually toured with Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden. So, it's obvious their solo's and whatnot give off a more technical and heavier sound to them, than other bands at that time. Here's a few songs from the Very Best of Dokken album that I bought a few days ago: Breaking the Chains - Awesome song, and catchy riffs, and the vocals are just extremely smooth. Paris is Burning (Live in Europe, 1982) - The solo intro is awesome, and this song REALLY sounds like something Hammerfall would have made. Even though it's live, the quality is still great. Tooth and Nail - Just a really great song, and you can hear double bass drumming! My dad also showed me a band called Stryper, their sound was similar to Dokken's, and then my dad said "And they're Christian". I seriously have never heard a Big Hair / Glam Christian Metal band until then, and they seemed awesome. He also showed me some of Savotoge, and they seemed -very- good. A little heavier, like Iron Maiden. Also along the bands he showed me was Accept, whom I've heard of since I've somehow seen them mentioned along Power Metal talk somewhere ... but man, I couldn't stand the guys vocals at all. They were so raspy, it was like he was brushing his teeth and gurgling while he sang. Finally, after I showed my dad Gamma Ray, Hammerfall, and a few others he said "You'd probably love Yngwie J. Malmsteen". So he showed me a few songs from his Rising Force album, and I was pretty blown away. I definitely plan on getting some of his stuff soon. @DarkSlaya: Yeah you need Queensryche's first album. It's still my favorite! Their first four songs were just incredible.

Well I think Jin's had a few problems.

That and I don't think we can change Multi Voting to either on or off, at least for me.

Ah, so that Adult Swim thing was an attack agains't CN basically?
|
[Crappy 1980's Live Action TV Show Network] They changed their logo to something like that, in regards to people emailing them to take Saved By the Bell off the air or something. And what's up with the constant movies now? Dumb and Dumber, Ace Venture, whatever ... yeah, those movies rocked, but on CN? (Last edited by Xeo on 04-19-06 12:49 AM)

Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi was awesome. I even enjoyed the dub when it was shown on Tech TV years ago.
|
But GT? ... I can respect DBZ, since I think it's pretty good before the Buu Saga, but GT is just horrible in my opinion. The music, plot, and Goku's jokes really ruin it. Just my opinion though.

I'm guessing it was a Squaresoft move, since the game had the same artist as FF-FFVI, and that's obviously his works (can't think of his name for the life of me. By the way, he did the art and character designs for Vampire Hunter D).
|
Anyways, it's cool, but I don't think it would have really improved the game. I still think FFIX is one of my favorites, even though I really had no liking to any of the characters in the game. Vivi was 'cool', but that was about it. But even so the game had a great plot, awesome music, battling, and the artwork (backdrops and stuff) were ahead of it's time. Edit: It's actually funny, because I just thought about this. Seriously, not very many of the FF's in my opinion have that great of characters ... FFT, VI, and a few others are exceptions, but yeah. I just realized I don't really care for many of the FF characters. FFVII, FFIX, and FFX especially. Originally posted by Possibly Xeo (Last edited by Xeo on 04-19-06 01:00 AM)

It's cool, but possibly fake.
|
I've seen one of Megaman 2 with about the same amount of time, but the guy doesn't get hit -once- until the 8th Stage, but I think it's been proven the Megaman 2 speedrun is fake (along with the SMB3 one).

I loved the card game.
|
I put a lot of time into it, for some reason ... I managed to get all of the cards (I think one of each), then told my friends, and probably never played the card game again in fear that I'd lose a card. I liked FFIX's card game a lot more than FFVIII's. But yeah, Steiner although cool in battles, was an extremely annoying character, and looked really dorky. But I take back what I originally said. If they would have went with these designs, I probably would have liked the game more, or at least the characters. One of my biggest gripes was that all the characters were really goofy looking, unrealistically proportioned, etc ...

Speaking of remodeled systems, anyone ever see the horrible SNES 2?
|
I'm pretty sure it was missing something like a slot for the RF adapter or something, so you had to plug it directly to the Cable / TV, or it was vice versa? Either way I didn't like it.

Honestly, if the board weren't as big as it was, I probably wouldn't be running an AB these days. They're easy to modify, but the coding and everything is a disasterous mess.

Only counting Megaman 1-8, plus Megaman and Bass (people used to say it was really Megaman 9), and including Megaman X-X8: Megaman has defeated 136 bosses. And that's not counting the later bosses during the final stages, just the selectable ones.
|
So yeah, even though they both have long history and started off on the NES, Megaman has prevailed more than a handful more times than Ryu has. That, and he can charge his gun. (Last edited by Xeo on 04-19-06 01:14 AM)

Most of these seem to be landslides now.

(looking at the Snake vs Vincent poll) During the last Tournament, I bet that Link would win, and he did. So this time, I'm going to use my magical powers yet again ... and bet Megaman will win this one. We shall see. If he doesn't, at least we will all know that if it were Protoman, he would have won. *shrugs* (Last edited by Xeo on 04-19-06 01:16 AM)

Not to detract from the BoGD Tournament, I was just interested to see what you guys think ...

We have X: The original Hero. And Zero: Somehow an S Ranked Maverick Hunter, higher than X. Destined to destroy X, being Wily's final creation (but sadly they never truly battled). Simply put, who do you like more? |
