7000+ million in the 1950's, and it seems to slowly be declining.
Stephen is about the same, while Steve overshadows Steven. |

From what I've seen, people seemed to really love Hatebreeder, and Follow the Reaper. Not sure if I should get Follow the Reaper though since DarkSlaya's sent me a bunch of songs from that one (not saying they're bad, just saying I've already heard a lot of that album so it wouldn't be too new). But yeah, I guess according to some reviewers CoB changes their sound a bit for every new album, so it would probably help to tell you guys who can recommend me an album (as most of you know), I prefer melodiac / epic stuff usually, so yeah. |

But, I don't know what it is about that show, I just like the feeling it gives off. As old as it may look, it seems awesome. And Gundam X ... if I'm thinking right, I think a lot of my friends have said that's "The most underated, and quite possibly the best Gundam series ever". And if you do check out Beserk, so far everyone's told me the anime is pretty empty compared to the manga. And the manga is still going on, and if you've seen the art ... you could probably guess why (the detail is insane). It's just quite gruesome and violent at times. As for Naruto, I haven't cared to watch it in ages. It's been fillers for the past couple of months. I can understand they're doing that so the manga can get much further storyline wise, but still ... either way the manga right now is extremely good, especially after the 2 1/2 - 3 year time leap. |

@TP: Yeah, meh. I forgot about that. And then the whole Zero Virus thing ... yeah I just tend to forget about X5 and X6.
But really, according to X2's and X3's ending, they basically said Zero would have to die for world peace to be fully restored. An epic battle, to the real death or something unique like ... Luke vs Darth Vader / Emperor, would have been awesome. Then out of nowhere in X8 the villian is some random guy, and it's apparently the last X game. They just really seemed to butcher the plot after X3. X4 was great, but definitely weird. |

Short? ...
Maybe I just spent a good deal doing the whole Chocobo thing, the card games, minigames, sidequests and stuff to rack up hours. I remember I had over 80 hours on FFVII, VIII, and IX. I maxed out everything in VII, and VIII, but it still took forever to level up and max stuff out in IX, I'm pretty sure I didn't even get anyone to level 80 or something. Well as it turns out today my dad says at the dinner table "Well, we'll probably be getting a smaller house".
Me: " ............ does it have a basement?" Dad: "No." Bullshit. I have too many things of my own for a bedroom. I should just move out. (Last edited by Xeo on 04-20-06 12:45 AM) |

If there's any fans here, have any kind of Stevie Vai album / CD you'd recommend me?
All over the place I've seen people hail him as one of the greatest guitarist ever. I'm not doupting that, it's just that I haven't heard anything that interesting yet. I have one of this CD's, but it's just "meh". The vocals and everything about it are just ... weird. But I don't know, maybe it's just the fact that he is extremely technical and good at playing the guitar, it's just his music that's not too interesting for my tastes. But who knows, I'm pretty sure he's put out a TON of stuff, so maybe I just haven't heard the right songs. Anyone have some recommendations? And I've heard Jason Becker, no clue who he is ... *googles* He seems awesome too. Just the sound of an album called "Speed Metal Symphony", I'm interested. Edit: Uhhhhhh .... whoa. I just want to own a guitar like Kai Hansen's (not the white Flying V he used with Helloween, his Pink Gamma Ray one).
It's just awesome ... Flying V's are decent, but as people say they are a bit goofy and overated. But Kai Hansen's, is like a checkmark or something, not really a full V. As seen the previous page: (Last edited by Xeo on 04-20-06 12:56 AM) |

Oh my god.
Yngwie I bought his debut solo album 'Rising Force', and The Yngwie Malmsteen Collection. Simply put I liked his stuff so much, I went back to Best Buy the next day and then bought 'Marching Out', 'Trilogy', and 'Odyssey'. If you enjoy about anything I've posted in this thread so far, I'm sure you guys would love Malmsteen. I can't get it out of my head that he seems like a past 80's incarnation of Symphony X. He has probably been a big influence to a ton of Neoclassical / Symphonic bands out there, and even probably has inspired tons of Power Metal stuff out there because of the genre's being closely linked. Anyways, here's some songs: Queen in Love - [Trilogy] Heaven Tonight - [Odyssey] My friend kept saying this sounds like a Journey song. Deja Vu - [Odyssey] And here's a great site I found that has a lot of guitar works from neoclassical musicians. Yngwie, Micheal Romeo (Symphony X), Jason Becker, and a few others. And I also got ManOWar's Triumph of Steel. I honestly didn't like Hail to England, but this album is absolutely incredible. The first track is 20+ minutes, and is easily on par with Symphony X's The Odyssey if you want to match up against other very long songs. It's a little more dramatic, and changes drastically at times, and there's a lot of solo's from guitars to drums (incredible), but it's so good. I'd upload it ... but yeah, 20+ minutes = huge file. |

Did you check out my Malmsteen downloads in my Metal thread? Reading this, I'd be willing to bet you'd love his work. Maybe more on the heavier side, but all of his solo albums use keyboards, synthezisers, and whatnot ... the main focus is still on his guitaring, but you'd still probably love it. And Rising Force only has two songs on it with vocals, so it's mainly instrumental.
But yeah, I'm a huge fan of synths. Maybe not a great example, but something like the Black Mages. The synth solo's on there were really awesome in my opinion. So I'll definitely check these guys out. |

In an altered reality I may have voted for Zero.
Honestly, some of what you guys say can be true, like Kaijin saying it takes more skill to use a sword and whatnot, but gameplay wise ... it was just too easy playing as Zero, and kind of ruined the games (X4-X6). It was flashy and cool, but just way to easy. And I think I can agree with TP with Zero in the first X game. He didn't seem overpowered, like he does in the rest of the X games. He looked like an average character, sacrificed himself to destroy Vile's armor, and whatnot. So he was actually pretty cool, and his theme rocked. After that he just seemed really arrogant though. And Bass was awesome. (Last edited by Xeo on 04-23-06 09:49 PM) |

Well, if anyone's been to Tuvai's, then you've probably seen the best battle hack out there. If we had something of that calibur, I think it would be interesting and somewhat active. But still, as entertaining as that add on there is, its still nothing that drives me to post there everyday.
However, despite all the negativity here, I do personally think it feels a little 'weird' not to have an item shop here, since in the past ... we almost always did. Even when we hardly had battle hacks. Along with all of the other stats on AB's, as pointless as they may be ... they were interesting in the past. An idea I've had though (well I had a dream I knew PHP and made this) was a DnD Hack, incredibly advanced. People could create up to 3 characters, and there were several classes to choose which differed their stats and item selection (obviously just like most RPG's and DnD). Stats were generated by lucky dice rolls. Then people could get together with other members of the board with their characters and go through randomly made dungeons. Each person took their turns, moved, attacked monsters, found treasure, etc. People could setup campaings also. Making up a script or plot, that people could read. Then they could pick out the dungeons, and maybe even go as far as being able to pick what monsters would show up, what treasures would, etc. Then be able to control towns afterwards and maybe even type in what NPC's would say while people explored the towns and bought items or whatnot. And some more stuff I can't remember. But that was a dream. = I really don't think having an Item shop or Battle hack is a "waste", but these days I don't think it really is required to have for a board to be successful, unlike only a few years ago. It was just kind of "the thing", back when everyone had an AcmlmBoard. The best ones I've seen were Ogre's, and Tuvai's. The extremely basic ones never caught my interest though, like TEK Hacks. It was just too basic and linear to really get a kick out of. But I don't blame Syntax for never finising this kind of work. A lot of it was simply because he just didn't get any feedback from people, and I'm sure I can speak for the both of us, its not always easy making things completely from your own ideas.
