I was a big fan of this series back in the day, though I only beat the first one, Abe's Odyssey. Exoddus was like three times as hard.
I'd say if you enjoy these kinds of games, you should really go back and check out the Lost Vikings games (there's just two) on the SNES/PC. Great sidescrolling/strategy action games. |

I quoted you saying "And RE4 had European zombies" though you already said that. But for some odd reason I can't delete that post. =_-

I wouldn't know, I really don't think I got that far at all. I think its because I had Odyssey for the PC and Exoddus for the Playstation and for some odd reason I just liked playing this on the PC more.

Can't believe I never made a thread about it or anything.
It was pretty awesome. The starting band Into Eternity (they claim to be progressive melodic death metal) was fucking awesome, I've never even heard of them but they were a perfect band to start the show. The vocalist was pretty awesome and when he screamed right, it was amazing (he varied his singing with both clean and growling vocals). Their attitude and everything was great too, I'm probably going to check out their albums. There was just something about their presence, they were laid back and just damn metal. The next band though ... Redemption, was pretty much the opposite of impressive. They were good at passing time ... I guess? It was almost embarassing listening to them before Dream Theater, because it felt like they just wanted to be another Dream Theater / Pagen's Mind. The vocalist was also downright terrible, his attitude, looks, and everything was just bad. After about the first three songs or so his voice was already shot and from then on it was just painful to hear. After checking up on the history though it seems their vocalist Ray Aldar, is the long time vocalist for Fates Warning. I went back listening to their stuff from the 80's and he was amazing, but it seems like his age caught up with him. And then the almighty Dream Theater, eh? At times I found myself yawning and sliding back into my chair, but at other times I was enjoying it. Their songs just drag on for too long and the encore of course goes on for 20+ minutes only to punch me right in the face and say "No, we're not going to play Pull Me Under or Metropolis". Their setup was great though, twice as big as the previous bands and Mike was awesome as always. In the end, I had a blast. It was at a theater though and more of a strict environment than most concerts though probably, there wasn't any moshing or anything. But like most people say, lots of old people were there. From preps to old bikers, the range of fans seemed almost endless. Sadly however, I look to my desk and see what was a Blind Guardian ticket. My friends and I originally planned on seeing them last November, but at the last minute they cancelled and went to ......... Mexico??? At least I got my money back, but fuck, Blind Guardian for a first concert would have been an amazing experience, even though I hardly care for their newer stuff they're still awesome. Well anyways, that was my first concert of many more to come hopefully. |

Oh I would!
And if they would play "Majesty" my pants would explode like a nuke. |

Yeah, that and most of their songs turn into a shredfest anyways. I felt bad for Myung (bassist) and Rudess (keyboardist) because they didn't get a lot of credit that night. LaBrie went up to Petrucci more than a few times and kind of signaled the crowd to compliment/cheer for him and everything while he solo'd, but he didn't do that for anyone else.
That was kind of disappointing too. Not everyone got to have their own extended solo but Petrucci that night. |

BUMP
Wasn't there another thread for this or something? Couldn't find it though, I didn't think it had been this long since there was some kind of discussion here ... Anyways I'll be taking Japanese 1 this Semester, so expect a lot of basic questions from me. (I mean, I had trouble with Spanish. Though that was 8th grade) |
