Alright, the last two weeks or so I've been going to bed on average around 3:00AM or so and it's been getting worse lately, it's 4:20AM right now. I always have this idea to stay up all night and try to make it through the entire day - then go to sleep earlier and get back on track, but that doesn't work when I've been consistently going to bed so late. I'm certain I've got a good case of insomnia as well.

Last few days I've been sleeping in until like 1:00-2:00PM and I absolutely hate that, sleeping past noon. I know this is silly to ask for any tips or anything but whatever, it can't hurt. And yeah ... today I woke up at 9, had some breakfast but then went back to bed because I was too tired and I woke up at 3PM.

I'm not going to lie I used youtube for some of the later levels (for strategies and whatnot). The final level at the silo was probably the hardest for me, I seriously don't think I've ever gotten that mad at a game before ... But then there was Mile High Club, that 1 minute level on the plane, the bonus mission at the end of the game. That is definitely one of the hardest if not THEE hardest thing I've ever completed in a videogame. It took me two days and probably a total of 4 hours after maybe 1000 death's, all for a stinking 1 minute level (you're timed so you have to be fast). (That's definitely Zeus playing himself) Now that doesn't look that bad but I'm sure that's the guys 1,000 attempt at beating that level. It's insane. I love this game to death but I'm never going through Veteran again.

Yeah, typically though "good games" start to slow down in appearance after the 4th quarter and especially during the summer. I too have been playing tons of games lately and I definitely need to catch up on some.

But I did it. Went Prestige and in one day (like 4 hours or so) I've already hit level 22. All I can say is HQ = mega exp. And yeah, this is insanely fun unlocking stuff again and whatnot. Note: You don't have to unlock the gametypes again, thankfully! I usually play Domination, Sabatage, Hardcore, and lately a lot of Headquarters - though I do really good and usually get in the top three or so, I'm such an aggressive player I die a lot too. This gametype might kill my k/d ratio.
Oh lordy one of the first games I played after I went Prestige was Domination on District and I swear I killed at least 10 people by jumping at their faces with a shotgun (going through all the weapons again for the challenges). Man it was hilarious, I bet they were screaming at that ... (shotgun in a huge level, lmao).

I'm the kind of the person that just can't "rest the mind". Once I lay down in that bed, it's like I have to review every single thing I did in that day, that I didn't do, that I will do years later, what I had to eat, why I didn't go somewhere, etc etc etc ... I just can't stop thinking sporadically and it keeps me up. For as long as I've known, even since Jr. High and probably before that it usually takes me an hour or two at least to fall asleep every night. I tried one trick which was counting to 200 (or any number really) in your head very slowly and supposedly before you hit that target number, you'd hopefully be asleep. That definitely didn't work for me. I guess I could try reading books. That does tire me at night (while just like NucklearKnight I can stare at my laptop without getting sleepy too). Bah. Since I didn't go to sleep last night, I took a 4 hour nap yesterday and went to bed around 10-ish. I woke up a few times during the night, but decided to get up when I woke up at 9. Hopefully I get tired again earlier tonight and can maybe start getting back on track here.

It's funny because regardless that Sega hasn't had a console in years, when people think of "Sega" I'm sure Sonic instantly comes to mind. Which isn't the case for Sony or Microsoft, I never think of any mascot for them. Sony definitely had Crash back on the PSX but since then they definitely haven't had a true mascot either I'd say.

I think it could be because gaming is more mainstream thesedays and it's generally not seen as a childish past time as much as it probably was back in the 90's and before. So it was probably easier for consoles to have mascots appealing to the younger gamers back then than it is now. If that makes sense. Basically, I don't think Sony and Microsoft will ever have a "true" mascot. Because of how the videogame scene is now and because they're just too late to have one set in stone. They both probably could have put more effort into this when the PS2 and Xbox were new. And Nintendo has like, three. Mario, Link, and Samus. (Last edited by XeoLVII on 01-07-08 05:38 PM)

The shotgun's range is actually pretty huge in the original Halo, compared to 2 and 3. So much that it's almost hilarious to see now.

Anyways, I played Halo 3 to death for about a month or so and now I can't go back to it (I blame CoD4). But regardless that I played it for quite awhile, I don't think it can touch the awesomeness that was Halo CE. The combat had drastically shifted from medium range (Halo CE) to close combat and there were WAY too many weapons that could kill people in one shot. I mean if the characters movement were a little faster, you'd probably have something equal to Quake in terms of just how "pointless" the gameplay can feel at times. I don't know. I'd say I was pretty good at 3 (highest skill level was 45), and maybe I'm baised because I was insane at the original, but Halo CE/PC is still superior in my opinion. I played that game for like a year straight, went to so many LAN parties I lost track and had so much fun with the hundreds of custom maps for the PC version. To me Halo 2 blew chunks. I'll just leave it at that. Anyways, your best bet with the giant Scarabs is to use vehicles for taking them down, then go in on foot and blow up the thing in the back. Fuck yes man, heard the album Abigail? Usually hailed as his finest release, layered with vocals like that. His vocals changed a bit since then though, not nearly as odd/awesome.

Also he was with Mercyful Fate before he went solo. Both "Melissa" and "Don't Break The Oath" are absolutely essential heavy metal classics! And yeah, I couldn't stand his vocals until I heard one of the songs on Clerks II (I believe) and eventually I was converted. They are hard to appreciate, but pretty wicked!
