Hung out with my dad's side of the family on Thursday. A much more laid back environment, people drink, etc. We spent most of the day admiring their new doxen (sp?) dog that they got, it was tiny! Only three months old I think...
Next day we had to be at my grandma's house at 9:30 AM for brunch, then we did family pictures with my uncle and cousin in town (yay family pictures!!...) then went back to our grandma's to help setup the Christmas tree and had dinner later that night. Looooooong day. |

So damn stupid. Shit like this always happens on Black Friday every year. I remember seeing some recording of a store opening where it looked like a stampede was going on at the entrance, absolutely lame ...

I love GGG's OP.
I've had that series for awhile ... only watched a few episodes. I hear it gets epic later on, just have to get past the whole "monster of the week" episodic content for the first half though. |

As I was saying...
Wal-Mart worker dies in Black Friday stampede Pardon me, but that's absolutely fucking stupid. Can't believe the world we live in. |

Never been the biggest Wolverine fan so I've never been quite sure what to think of this, but Deadpool and Gambit? Heck yeah!

- Did an on-site assessment today. Either I nailed it, or they need people, or something. I was scheduled for an interview a few hours later in the sameday.
- Went back and did the first interview with a recruiter. My god, was that the easiest interview or what? He only asked like 4 of those weird open ended questions. Seemed like a nice guy. - The security officer and assessment lady both remembered my name and everything when I returned. - Got a second interview scheduled for tomorrow. Security Officer: "Well Steve's just blasting through everything right away!" Awesome? If the next one goes well tomorrow, I think I'll have the job. It's nothing too awesome... packaging/shipping medical supplies, inventory, that kind of thing (lightweight, not like UPS). The company is Prescription Solutions, under United Heath Org or something like that. I have two friends that work there and they say it's easiest thing ever. Pay starts at $10.00 an hour, a good bit more than what I ended with at Jiffy Lube. I'll be Full Time for awhile, not sure how long that'll be ... but I'll probably go back to JCCC (community college) sometime next year to try and get an Associotes at least. Good pay, easy, etc. I'm actually excited ... it'll be nice to have money and just be busy again. Give me a month though and I'll wish I was doing nothing. In other news, my uncle might become a millionaire. (Last edited by Xeu on 12-04-08 04:06 PM) |

And I know what you mean about interviews. This was probably the easiest one I've ever had, compared to a bunch of other places I interviewed at a few years ago... even a place like Golden Corral, I remember they threw tons of those questions at me. Of course, maybe the second interview one will be tougher and more annoying? DS, I totally agree. Money is =P I think I might have a position available through Allied Staffing too, doing the same thing kind of. Though they're a hiring agency and all that so I don't know, figured it might be better to go with an actual company directly right away. I guess some lady called today about a position with one of their packaging/shipping places opening up, so I'll probably give them a call after my next interview with this one place just to compare the offers. I haven't worked since last November.
But I wasn't serious about getting another job until maybe two or three months ago... |

EASIEST INTERVIEW EVER.
I think it literally took maybe 10 minutes or so. Basically the guy just joked around how I knew two people that worked there, so he didn't explain the job or anything. Then he just asked me two questions. He also had experience working with Jiffy Lube, so we could relate on that. It was so easy. I'll hear back within the next few days about it probably. |

You could maybe look into them or something:
http://www.uhgjobsonline.com/ Not sure if anything is in your area though. You could maybe try Allied Staffing also, but I'm not sure if they're local or not. They were really fast about calling me back for a position at one of their warehouse companies. |

I'm really getting into The Last Remnant.
The game uses a "Union" system where instead of having single characters in combat, you have combined "Groups". A few of their stats are combined like HP and you control them as you would a single character in a traditional JRPG, but you get to see several characters attack and do things. You can also have multiple unions, I suspect that later on the game can get crazy. For instance just a few hours in I can have three Unions, each with 5 slots so I could potentially have 15 characters in combat. But you have to unlock "slots" and such, then they seperate some characters by Leaders and Recruits. Leaders are the obviously more powerful ones (and key characters) and at least one is needed per Union, though you can have more than one Leader in a group. Yeah, no idea if that's confusing or whatever, but I really dig it. It's pretty unique. The game has technical issues. I hear it's essential to install it to the HD, lots of texture popups and some loading screens (Unreal engine here ... for a SquareEnix game? yeah weird). My main issue is that the menu text is hard to make out, like most games thesedays that practically require an HDTV. The dialogue is easy to read though. Overall though, past its faults I'm really starting to like it. (Last edited by Xeu on 12-09-08 01:45 AM) |

Also makes me think, DID they really kill Arthur?
I sure hope they did, or else that'd ruin how epic that scene was. Sylar makes the show me for me now. I've definitely lost a lot of interest myself, but I think this season's been at least much more entertaining than the second season. I can't believe next week is already the last episode though. Sylar, Parkman, and Hiro/Ando are probably the only characters I really still care about. |

Originally posted by Cairoi Yeah, he probably is. It's just weird how they kept emphasizing that they have to be shot in the back of the head or something, which didn't exactly happen ... but I'm sure the bullet went straight through his brain or whatever. I just thought it was questionable since he took Adam's power awhile back. |

It does have a lot, though installing the disc certainly helps. It was noticeable at first but it hasn't bothered me too much.
It's weird though in some dungeons/area's you'll get the loading screens for battles and in some other places you won't, the screen will just do its "encounter" flash thing and then a few seconds later you'll be in a battle. I just thought that was really weird. Loading battles isn't too bad, which is what I'd say could be the main issue. (Last edited by Xeu on 12-10-08 12:22 AM) |

So, here's the story.
My friends there ended up telling me there would be a 5/8 chance I'd get hired, they needed 5 positions filled by were going through 8 applications. The supervisor I went through an interview with and everything supposedly recommended me, from what my friends say. Well simply put I guess I wasn't lucky. They finally got back to me and basically said I could be "backup", so I went to go piss in a cup for them and I'll see if one of those 5 applicants fails a drug test. On top of that the other place, Allied Staffing, which had tried to contact me last week and I tried to get a hold of them to return the call, was going to schedule me for orientation at their packaging/shipping place. I finally get a hold of them today and there's no more orientations, they're slowing down with that for now. Boy, this'll be a great Christmas. |

Allied Staffing called today ... they missed me... I missed them. Ugh.
Wonder what they want though. I'll try to keep up with them, the number I called back was their hiring/staffing line or something. |
