| Well, as some of you may or may have not known, I have been away from the board for a little over a week, unexpectedly.
I moved into a new home, and apparently it takes SBC more than a week to set things up in a new location, even if it is 5 streets down from our old place (Moved into a bigger house, if you're confused) Anyways, I'd like to make a statement, a statement I've wanted to make for a long time. Activity. I'll be blunt and straight out. It's bad. Very bad. These past couple of weeks have been completely and horribly slow, going at 70-100 posts a day. Sure, that's not ultimately "horrible" but think back to about 2 months ago, when Xeogaming was hitting an average 300+ posts a day. You do the math and compare. I don't know what happened. Did I do something? Did someone do something? Does there need to be a change? Seriously, just say it if you really want to. Heck, I was going to make this kind of thread only in the staff forum, but exactly why? To inform 12 or so people that I'm unhappy with activity? Sure, maybe it's low for a board owner to publically say something like this, but guess what, I'm only human too, and being the owner of this place, and even though it may be selfish saying this; I'd like for this place to be thriving and as successful as it can be. In no way am I saying this place is bad now, but it's definently not what it used to be at. It took us only about 2 weeks or so to get back up to 8,000+ posts, then something happened. We sat in the 8,000 range for a week or two, now we're "almost" at 10,000. It sure is taking this place a long time. All I'm asking is what happened, and why? If there needs to be a change, just go ahead and list of ideas and suggestions here in this thread, whatever you say, even if you agree or disagree with me, won't be taken offensively. Also an issue with staff, and I'll go ahead and publically mention this too. Yes, the staff here at XG is doing their job, and doing it completely fine. But when it comes to staff discussions, I sometimes don't exactly know what to think when a "Staff Vacation" thread is the most active thread in the Staff forum. What am I supposed to think? With staff constantly taking "vacations", I sometimes question the staff we currently. There are a few exceptions, and in no way am I a posting nazi when it comes to staff, but it just doesn't seem like the way it used to be. I've questioned a staff rehaul, again, but truthfully I don't think that would solve anything. Again, you'd probably never see a board owner make a public statement such as this, and maybe I'm making myself look bad, but hey, like I said I'm completely human myself, and would "like" this place to be a thriving community. I won't be shutting this place down, or anytime soon regardless as how the activity and dedication to this place has almost fallen by 70% within the last 2 months or so, but it honestly just makes me delay things, and just doesn't get me as excited to do things for this place as I used to be. Anyways, I'm back, and no I haven't changed, I wanted to say this before I even moved. And I know for a fact there are others on this board that will agree with this statement, and whether or not they'd like to share their thoughts and opinions on the community as of now is up to them, but I'd encourage everyone to put in your input here. This is basically a talk about Xeogaming, the community, and how it's been. Please discuss: Maybe I'm just being ignorant here, and I'm full of myself and just wanting this place to be something it can't be. And if you truly feel I'm acting that way, again, please don't hesitate to speak your mind. I'm open to any suggestions and ideas here. |

| I guess it depends. There's a few expections of just plain out "bad" animes and manga's out there that'll just make you do the opposite, and not want to see anymore.
X the series for example, it just didn't grab my attention. For me Shonen's usually get me pretty interested, since there's a lot of main character development and long plots in those, like; Naruto, Bleach, Kenshin, etc. But yeah, anime's and manga's are like a drug to me personally, if I start with something, unless it's horrible, I won't be stopping until I'm done with it. |

| Honestly, I've only heard about them.
But browsing metalstorm.ee (something like that) I saw that they are considered to be "Power Metal", not Thrash like I thought they were.  (Since most of my friends would always compare them with Metallica, I just kind of guessed they were Thrash)
I'm not too much of a fan for older Power Metal, like Iron Maiden for example (don't get me wrong, Powerslave was good, but other than that I'd have to say I personally think they're a bit overated), but I haven't heard this band yet, so I won't judge until then.  |

But there older stuff isn't too bad, and I like a few of there good classics like "Girls Girls Girls", of course.
I wouldn't compare them to Quiet Riot or The Scorpions, but they're not bad. |

| Well I've heard so much about this band called "Rhapsody" again, and again.
So ... I finally checked them out.
Honestly, I was blown away. Right now I only have there "Symphony of the Enchanted Lands" album, and I have to say they're easily becoming one of my all time favorite bands, if not thee favorite band of mine. Why I say they're better than Symphony X? Well, they seem to be compared a lot. Why, I'm not exactly sure, since you could say they're pretty different. Symphony X is more Symphonic Progressive, while Rhapsody is a little more on the heavy side, making them Symphonic Power. And for those of you who know me well, I'm a huge fan of Power Metal. (The fast stuff) Besides Rhapsody, I've also recently checked out Avantasia, also Symphonic Power (and extremely good), Therion, more instrumental (and I guess they'd be Death Metal if they sang more, since one of there songs has Death Metal singing), and Kamelot, which they're more just plain Power like Edguy and Gamma Ray. If you're clueless as to what I'm saying, just check this out. That is a list of the kind of stuff I like.
Even though I haven't heard the majority of those bands, I plan on it. |

Sure, school seems to get into peoples way here, but was it in there way for the 1st Semester? Didn't seem so, and it sure has seemed to effect a lot of people if that's so ... I've already brought this up with other people in the past, and a lot of people told me "It was Spring Break" and people were "busy" on Vacation or something. Well, I don't think anyone gets a 3-4 week Spring Break, if we're all living on Earth, I'm sure our break is a lot shorter than that, yet activity did not increase or show any form of improvement. I don't see how they're any different at all compared to the original series, heck, they're probably easier for me since you've got the ability to dash around and manuever much easier than you could in the originals. But yeah, overall I'm a huge Megaman fan, as some of you already probably know. I own the real, and original versions of Megaman X-X6, except ... and sadly, not X3. (Meaning I own Megaman X-X2 for the SNES, and X4-X6 for the PSX). Just nice to say that since they're making another Megaman Collection with the X series. I may or may not get it, but I probably will ... just for X3, because that games that damn good.
People complain about the X series being too "serious", it didn't bother me, in fact I welcomed it with a more serious approach to the enemies and storylines. Vile, is easily one of the best villians ever. I also enjoyed the continous storyline factor. Sure all the games don't perfectly link, but all in all, the games do kind of make one huge storyline. (I'm sure we can exclude X6 in the storyline though ...  )
My only complaint for the X series entirely is the existence of ZERO. I don't like him. He's also very un-fun and cheap to play as in X4-X6, it's no challenge to play through these games with him. Yeah, I'm at about 196% completion right now. I'm pretty sure I've covered the entire map, except for that "one room". It's the room with the spinning bolts, and those flying blue-yellow heads that usually turn you into stone if they hit you. Well, there's 4 wheels that apparently you can spin them, and I'm sure they unlock the final area that I need to explore. I'm clueless as to what I need to do there though, I've tried almost everyting. Besides this, I recently also bought Super Castlevania IV, for the SNES for $15. Definently worth it I'd say. Even though I'm more of a fan for the Castleroid-styled games, it's still good, and has great music. So far though I think I'd like to get Dracula X, from what I've played I like it more than Super CV. Besides, you get to play as Richter himself.
But yeah, the CV series is definently a series I'm glad I didn't completely miss out on, now I'm just catching up with it. (Last edited by The Xeomega on 04-19-05 05:55 PM) |

I was looking over the list of albums Rhapsody has, and saw they had "Enchanted Lands II", will definently have to check that one out. |

Stratovarius, a bit here and there. Symphony X (duh) Rhapsody Avantasia That's about it. 
I think I checked out Holleween (is that how the bands spelled?) and didn't really like them that much. They were just linked from metalstorm.ee, from other bands under the "[Band] fans also liked: etc". Hopefully that made sense.

I'm not sure whether to believe it or not. I mean seriously, can't we get some spinoffs? Or Episodes 7-9? Don't die Star Wars! 
I plan on seeing Episode III at least 5-10 times in theaters though.

I'd say at "least" $150 ...
