I put it on my Gamefly list nonetheless, I'm interested since it's Bioware and if it plays anything like the KOTOR games I'd say that's a plus.

Saw it in an HD/3D theater myself, absolutely breathtaking. As others have said the plot is fairly predictable, but the execution and all that is perfect. Truly something we'll be talking about 10-20+ years from now. Incredible experience, DO NOT miss this before it leaves theaters.

Scored a new slim PS3 from my parents/grandma (though this was last weekend, slow update!)... other than that, just got a few random necessities. At my age though I can't help but not feel disappointed at all though... any free thing is free, can't argue that! But yeah, still easy to tell the economy is hitting lots of families. Hope 2010 picks things up.

The thing with The Karate Kid is that it's one of those great movies that's SO 80's it's awesome, and nobody will ever be able to replicate that kind of charm again. Seriously, who would want say ... a Back to the Future reboot? Hell no!

Kind of a random one, but they've already been talking about rebooting the Resident Evil (movie) series after this next one (yes, the 4th). The idea for it sounded a tiny bit more like the games but come on, I wish they'd just drop it already. There's no way anything good could come out of this. Rogue: Haha awesome, another reason to see Zombieland... kind of missed that one. All this said, I'd kind of like a Robocop reboot. No idea why I think that of all things could maybe work... but yeah!

We actually got like 8-10 inches from later Christmas Eve day and onward, it just kept going and it was so windy almost looked like there was a blizzard, lol. And yeah that's the night I went to see Avatar, it was still worth it! I remember when snow was awesome as a kid though ... now with a full time job and a car, it's the biggest pain in the ass ever. Yeah I think I've done a 14 hour day or so back at Jiffy Lube... but the situation with that was kind of similar as well, haha. After shop closing hours we did inventory while drinking a bit, so it was all fun!

Two feet of snow? Jeezbuz. Once though, just once... I'd like to experience "being snowed in". I have no idea why and it's probably ultra inconvenient, but it'd be a cool story? 
Roads are getting better around here. How are the places for you guys? I was talking to my friends about it who've lived in other States and it sounds like places are different about cleaning up the roads. I guess some of my friends went down to Missouri over the weekend and they don't plow at all! That's gotta suck. Around here they just get the main streets... so on longer drives home, the closer you get to home... the worse and tougher it gets, lol. The annoying thing though is that my car is insanely bad in this kind of weather and I have no idea why, it must be the tires or something. My friends small 2 door Honda handles twice as better somehow, so something is definitely up. The brakes raddle a lot too when it's hard to stop... even though all the brakes are new this year.

I've only seen one episode of the series so I can't really make any major comparisons, but Robert Downey Jr was pretty awesome. The movie did feel a bit long though.

Yeah, my friend whom I think has read some of the books still enjoyed the movie as well, if that means anything I guess. I'll have to check them out sometime.

And this is embarrassing but I totally forgot Jude Law was Watson, he just fit the character and the world so well (moreso than RDJ), guess I just forgot. (restricted) |

Another thing I really liked was the score by James Horner (guess he did the original Aliens too! So easy to tell), with so many action films thesedays plagued by "general bombastic militaristic 101" stuff ... etc, the music for this one was a breath of fresh air.

The OST by itself is breathtaking. The song "War" (which I'm assuming covers that entire final fight) is probably one of the most epic battle themes I've ever heard. Anyways, probably going to see it again this weekend at the IMAX (apparently we didn't see it there the first time, I had no idea!)...
