Been really chaotic and busy myself lately. The whole family was sick off and on last month, along with tons of people at work. I guess KS's epidemic is among the worst right now, probably the dry air here or something... I think I got food poisoning Friday and may have finally got some kind of flu myself. Been kind of sick this weekend.
Still need to sell my old car. Guess I'll just use Pick n' Pull or some service to come pick it up. |

Was an interesting year. Not my best nor my worst.
What have you done in 2012 that you have never done before? - I moved out! Did you keep your new years resolution from this year, and will you make one for next year? - Somewhat hit mine, but I made another for this year among other goals. Finally wrote them down on paper this time so I've got a checklist... Did anyone close to you give birth? - My sister had her baby in December. Did anyone close to you die? - No. Where did you travel to in 2012? - Nowhere this year. What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012? - More of a social life. What dates from 2012 will you have etched in your memory, and why? - How much money I wasted at the chiropractor... not sure. What was your biggest achievement of the year? - Moving out (this might be a recurring answer? lol). What was your biggest failure? - Slipping up with my attendance at work and not becoming nationally certified. Did you suffer injury or illness? - No, although sliced up my fingers from a broken window last week... lol. What was the best thing you bought? - A car! A little old Honda Civic. Whose behavior merited celebration? - Hard to say, it was more of a stressful year for myself and everyone I know. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? - My mom has been pretty miserable for awhile now, wish she'd get more active in stuff or just be happier. Where did most of your money go? - The new car, apartment, phone, and other important things. What did you get really, really, really excited about? - Moving out! What song will always remind you of 2012? - N/A Compared to this time last year, you are: a) Happier or Sadder? - About the same, hope to be happier. b) Thinner or Fatter? - About the same, hope to put on some muscle or something this year. c) Richer or Poorer? - Also somehow about the same, doing pretty fine financially. What do you wish you would have done more of? - Got out more and took some classes. What do you wish you would have done less of? - Wasting money on the chiropractor. How did you spend New Year's Eve? (December 31, 2011) - At home, in bed, sick! It sucked. How did you spend New Year's Day? (January 1) - Stayed in, still sick. How did you spend Valentine's Day? (February 14) - Another normal day for me. How did you spend St. Patrick's Day? (March 17) - Think I did go out drinking, but I can't remember (so... yes?) How did you spend Easter? (April 8) - With family, probably my grandma's, also celebrating my sisters birthday. How did you spend Cinco de Mayo? (May 5) - Any normal day. How did you spend the 4th of July? (July 4) - Grilled out with friends. How did you spend Patriot Day? (September 11) - Think I had to work.... not sure. How did you spend Talk Like a Pirate Day? (September 19)? - Laughing about it. How did you spend Halloween? (October 31) - Playing videogames. How did you spend Thanksgiving? (November 22) - Seeing my family, both sides of the family. Eating lots of awesome food and getting tons of leftovers. How did you spend Christmas? (December 25) - Same as above. My dad's mom was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, but was doing great Christmas and we had a lot of fun. Got a lot of family pictures taken. Did you fall in love in 2012? - I wish. What was your favorite TV show? - Anime... What was your least favorite show of 2012? - Dunno. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? - Nah. What was the best book you read? - Manga... What was your greatest musical discovery? - Solitude Aeturnus' first two albums. What did you want and get? - Moving out. What did you want and not get? - New friends. What was your favorite film of this year? - Amazing Spiderman and Avengers, think I'm forgetting something... What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? - Turned 25. Didn't do much since we were moving around that time, but I got some people together eventually and we saw a movie, hit up Old Chicago, etc. What is one thing that would have made your year more satisfying? - More variety. How would you describe your personal fashion concept of 2012? - Trying to look more mature I guess? What kept you sane? - "Light at the end of the tunnel..." What celebrity/Public figure did you fancy the most? - Not sure... What political issue stirred you the most? - The presidential election. What news story was the most overblown? - All of them. Who do you miss? - Some old friends and family. Did you reconnect with anyone? - Not really. Tell us a life lesson you learned in 2012. - Take risks, life is too short!... What plans do you have for 2013? - Taking up classes again, meeting new people, getting nationally certified (more money), putting more money into the apartment, selling my old car and fixing up the new one a lot, figuring things out with my health, try out running, get into a good workout routine, try new foods, etc... What are your resolutions for 2013? - See above. What will you be doing for New Year's Eve? - Celebrating a good year and drinking a lot. |

Show her this article. It accurately sums up most of my childhood and where I'm at now.
I consider myself agnostic at this point, I guess. I'm just really apathetic about it in general. Maybe there's something out there, maybe not, but I'm not interested in thinking about it. I think I place faith/happiness above the belief in a God or higher being. Faith and happiness, being in tune with yourself and being the best you can be, is more important to me. I went through a group therapy thing a few years ago I talked a bit about around here, faith was attached to it but I'd hardly call it religious, yet, it was an experience that was at least 20x better than anything I had ever been through with church (not that that's hard, I never liked church). One of my favorite bits I pulled from it was after one session where we did talk a bit about God and Jesus, we sat down with others and talked about how we viewed the message. One of my partners there summed it up perfectly to me, God loved Jesus because Jesus was 100% Jesus, himself, the very best he could be. God doesn't want you to be Jesus, he wants you to be you, 100% you, happy as you, the best you can be, the way you were made and meant to be. I thought that was neat. People get too caught up in trying to be someone they aren't. Frankly at this point I feel flat out uncomfortable in any church. I do not like the atmosphere, the practices, the sermons condemning our people and governments... "I won't waste my time going to Sesame Street Sunday mornings" was how my roommate recently put it. "Turn around and give someone a hug", why? We don't know these people, etc. He's in a similar boat, definitely seems a bit more cautious about it all, but yeah. Just going back to the article above there... My parents are quite young. To think that they were early 20's, younger than I am at this point, when they were incredibly overly religious and controlling, kind of cracks me up and perplexes me. Fast forward to nowadays, my dad regrets most of it and has become pretty liberal and open. His grandpa who we lost a few years ago was not "saved", I don't think, but my dad was at peace with it and knew he'd see him again. He was content, happy, and believed what he believed. I think those are big things that really matter. My mom is still more conservative and has stronger morals attached to Christian beliefs, but yeah. She always jokes how her Catholic friends are the most normal people she knows, and the heaviest drinkers. I don't practice anything or attend a church, and don't ever see that changing. The only good time I had with a church was when I was in high school and had access to my own car, so I was allowed to go to youth group to a different church where some of my friends went. No, I do not believe every single church out there is bad, or filled with fake people, and creating "community" isn't a bad thing at all, but I went through dozens growing up and want nothing to do with "going through the motions" like that ever again. I never fit in and was never happy. It was a consistent trend church after church. So perhaps it's religion myself that I don't like at all thesedays, but I still believe to an extent that there can be some kind of spiritual journey, and real unexplainable faith that can be placed in things. But that also said, I firmly believe these things should be, a personal journey. Who are we to judge? If I am to ever take up an interest in such things again, I will not waste my time listening to some random pastor giving me his own interpretation of whatever passages or whatnot, I would look into things myself and be my own judge. I've never read much of the New Testament, nor the entirety of the Old. But I'm just logical with some of these things as well. The Bible to me is a book, 90% of copies we see in our lives nowadays were probably typed up by Billy Bob. A large chunk of it just sounds like flat out fantasy / fiction to me, and it's just realistic to me to know that if it's really been maintained throughout these years... how many times has it been revised, altered, edited, etc? For awhile there, it used to bug me how "Christians" would get slammed and I still think it's silly, on either end of the spectrum. Again, not all churches or people that attend them are bad people, nor are atheists, and others that practice other beliefs. But I guess it did irk me for awhile since I was a part of that growing up, but I think I'm past that point and it triggers nothing for me now. Harsh, but truly sums up some of my feelings on some of these things. If there's genuine Christians out there who are happy and not hiding behind the name of God or putting up masks, that is great and I am completely happy for them. Same goes for any other person with any other belief. Let's stop pointing fingers and be our own judge, seek answers for our own journeys living to the fullest. Be yourself and be real. So yeah, all that and I think I resonate with most of what Astro said. I guess I just consider agnostic before atheist, at the same time, I believe we write our own fate and the future has never been written (an interesting message from the Xeno games that I love, haha). So, I think there could be a God out there, but I think he's pretty laid back and letting us do what we want. (Last edited by X on 02-23-13 09:19 PM) |

I still need to run through ME on the PC sometime (if I can get a new rig this year or something). Definitely seems like it's fairly improved from the original 360 release. | |||

Everyone at work seems to be all over this stuff. I tried it out, think I'm hooked now. Need to get some kind of purifier at my home sometime though. I probably drink like 3-5 bottles worth of water a day. Feels good to be hydrated! Do you like water? |

Yeah someone was telling me about Smart Water's vapor purification thing earlier today, like it's supposed to be "rain water", lol. Well whatever, seems to be tasty stuff.
It just cracks me up how it's still all a business through and through though, walking down the water aisles again at Walmart, seeing the 20 different types and brands. lol, but I guess the tastes can definitely be different. I'm going to have to get a purifier sometime soon for home too. I know everyone says bottled water adds up a lot which I can believe, so I'll probably just use those for work from time to time. But right now sink water is as cloudy as can be here... yuck. |

Sadly I'm not totally alone yet, and my roommate... only guy I'd ever trust (money wise) and all, is a complete and total slob. I'm going to have to talk to him soon because at this point I feel like I'm totally being taken for granted. I feel like a maid, pay more for the bigger room, but continually add things from dishes, to mats, utilities, etc, and he never does. He sucks at washing dishes, never pulls them out of the dishwasher, never gets the mail (I don't think he's even changed his address in the 6-7 months we've been here), and he's been "borrowing" a TV stand for his room this entire time while he keeps saying he's going to get one, along with a damn lan cable going from the living room to his room for internet. I'll repeat that, a lan cable going from the living room through the hallway to his room. Never pulls the trash out until I do and set it next to the door, signalling that YES THIS IS FULL TAKE IT AWAY.
I got furious over the weekend about it all. He went out of town leaving me to do the dishes the second time that week and so I literally spent like 5 hours cleaning the place Saturday since it really needed it. Wiped down everything, mopped the hard floors, vacuumed, everything but his room (obviously not touching that) or the kitchen table since it's a big pile of his shit, with literally nothing of mine on it. So he has yet to say anything. You'd have to be freaking blind to not see the transformation over the weekend. But yeah seriously, can I just get a damn thanks? I even took pictures: http://imgur.com/a/4fvhO - reminder, all his. I rinse dishes as I use them so you just throw them in the dishwasher when it's time. Oh all those dishes are owned by me though. http://i.imgur.com/vP1CrhI.jpg - Took like an hour and hopefully I didn't catch a disease cleaning that sink. http://i.imgur.com/NBpiFfZ.jpg - The blender on the right with the salt/pepper, is typically the full extent of counter space I get to use. All that other shit is his and of course, he does this protein heavy diet so he eats and cooks the same crap all the time, 5 meals a day, using up the dishes and stuff instantly. http://i.imgur.com/dDHnLxs.jpg - His room. http://i.imgur.com/uEiL0py.jpg - Mine. Nuff' said. Maybe his dad allowed this, but I'd love to see him find anyone else in the world that'd tolerate this shit. He's like my best friend but good lord I feel like a babysitter. |

Soda's become a delicacy for me and I dig it that way honestly. I think it was just weird anxiety bouts over the years making me think I had blood sugar problems... my levels always checked out good, but I can safely say I feel a lot better in general thesedays without soda either way. I got my iron stomach back too, lol. I think dropped 10 pounds in a few weeks without doing anything... except just wasn't drinking soda.
Then I had some dehydration issue years ago, so yeah I just load up on the water thesedays heh. Water, juice, chocolate milk, and beer. |
