I could not believe the $399 premium price until I saw it myself with my account. That's absolutely absurd. I'm guessing they're insane or going out of business. Who on Earth is going to fork up $400?...
Since I don't really use XG for it, I've been considering maybe getting some cheap hosting somewhere to have my own place for images and files. No idea what good options there are for that, but they were saying that at Jul. For now I've migrating over to imgur. You can even upload some NSFW stuff from what I've seen (haha) and only share it directly, like otherwise I don't think people can find it outside of the image you directly post. Along with private galleries. The issue with imgur is that organizing things seems a bit annoying and it jumbles up the filenames, so the URL's won't make any sense and it makes it trickier to organize. But overall I've used imgur for years and they seem stable and good. I like the simple drag and drop too. |

Yeah... I don't really understand the cost of living on either coast.

Not sure I can do that, but if you want access to Cammygirl192 (has the most posts) I can PM you a new password for that account. Then please stick with one... lol.

Nice. I always wished I had one of those.
Don't have a PSX around though, but I've always had a PS2 and PS3 hooked up for ages, so I can play PSX games through them. I'd love to get some non-joystick PSX controllers sometime. |

No worries. I've never merged accounts though, but if you want to stick with this one that's fine.

I actually prefer the PS3 for PSX gaming. The smoothing option seems a lot better (it's case by case though, sometimes I turn it off). It's also really nice being able to create basically infinite virtual memory cards. I bought an adapter years ago to transfer all my old memory cards to my PS3 HDD, so I've been able to salvage all that from my childhood.
I actually had some serious trouble with Xenogears on the PS2. There's a weird well known issue with one of the late game bosses causing it to freeze all the time. It's luck of the draw if you can get past it without freezing and I was able to finally after some point. I'm not sure if the PS3 is error free on that part or not, or maybe the digital version works better. Hmm... I'm not too versed in platformers and racing games on the PSX, hehe. The PSX version of San Francisco Rush is pretty rough, I think the N64 one is better. Maybe there's some good Need for Speed games though, I really enjoyed the old ones. Jet Moto was one of those games everyone had. Crash Team Racing was excellent. I've always wanted to play the Tomba games. I think Spyro has aged kind of badly, but the Crash games hold up decently since they're fixed camera angles and not truly 3D. Some stuff like the 3D Gex games or Croc... those might be best left in the past, haha. Croc might be fine, but Gex looks pretty bad looking back on it. 3D platformers is the one genre that is kind of hit or miss for me to go back to sometimes. |

That's awesome, I'm glad those years paid off!
Even Sonic Mania is being headed by someone who was an avid Sonic hacker or something that supposedly cooked up better fan games than the official ones thesedays. I hope this trend continues. Frankly, the official Metroid 2 remake looks good... but I don't think it looks half as good as AM2R. |

The video a few posts above is the official Metroid 2 remake (can you see the video?)
Basically... I'm never a huge fan of the 2.5D polygonal style for sidescrollers. Mega Man X8 is one that comes to mind, or like Shadow Complex back when that was new and fun, this stuff always seems so visually forgettable to me. I guess it's cool the 3DS is a bit more powerful and the style looks similar to the Prime series, but I'm always a way bigger fan of sprites. There are at least some indie games carrying the torch. I absolutely loved Momodora Reverie Under the Moonlight and Axiom Verge, both of which fit the Metroidvania formula too! |

Well if you have some friends that you think would like it here, the more the better! Back in our heyday I want to say we averaged like 100 posts a day maybe or so. People went their ways eventually though and the rise of FB and social media kind of destroyed a lot of forums. I think people were getting a little tired of AB's too, it had such a crazy history of ups and downs. FYI, Xeogaming is the third incarnation of my board (or fourth if I count the weird temp free one I had in between the timeline), so we also had to go through a few reboots.
I was so knee deep in running this place in its various incarnations, or being admins at other AB's, that fast forward a decade and half later... I've kind of gone the complete opposite route now and don't do forums much or even Discord/Slack with my friends. Just kind of like to keep to myself now. After awhile I think I still got some staff requests on some places, but started turning that all down since I didn't have the drive anymore. Metroid Metal forums was one place I loved that lasted for a long time, but it was like overnight everyone just decided to stop going and became abandoned years ago. I frequent Racketboy forums thesedays and that's it outside of here. I used to be on some hentai boards but they all died over time haha... I've still got the PC fever though and am on too much. I like using Backloggery, or Letterbox, Myanimelist, etc, to keep track of things I watch and play. And I'm pretty hooked on a lot of youtube channels and more recently some Twitch streamers now. Lately I've been getting some twice baked potatoes from Hyvee, with chedder and bacon. Combined with asparagus and it's delicious. Sometimes I'll have some chicken with it or crackers.
What's everyone's favorite frozen pizza? |

Jacob's Ladder. It's the real Silent Hill movie, amazing stuff if you're into that sort of thing.
What's yours? (being lazy haha, but also curious on more answers for that!) |

I hear amazing things about that one. Unlike modern day Berserk.
Maybe I'll read stuff someday... |

So it's not just me and is this year completely insane with the humidity? I can't tell if it's my new apartment or what, but yeah. I have two dehumidifiers in my room trying to keep it under control and it's tolerable, but still bad.
My face and skin hasn't been looking too good lately too because of it probably. |

Hmm, well Crash 1 is crazy hard for sure. Sounds like the remaster maybe made it even harder since the physics are supposedly a little different.

I never really got too into IRC myself.
Yeah I dipped into some rom hacking myself at some points and tried some editors or changing values with stuff, but there were so many AB's that focused on that and I never wanted this place to be about that. The idea for XG was to be a general gaming site for reviews/news but that never really took off. There was a main page up at some point with some reviews submitted by users, but yeah that was ages ago. So I eventually just had everything redirect to the board. Metroid editing was my favorite back in the day, I think with Metedit or something like that. I was excited when Super Metroid and Link to the Past editors came out, but then quickly realized I didn't have the patience for it and never used them much haha. |

Did you at least ever see the full PSX startup? I'm sad they took it out of the PS2+.

Year bump, so since then... I've played Resident Evil 7 and Rez Infinite with my friends PSVR.
Rez was really cool and a nice entry point. RE7 made me sick because of the control settings my friend had it set too. By pushing the d-pad or shoulder buttons, the camera would quickly turn. This made me seriously messed up for awhile, I had to lay down for like 30 minutes when I started sweating and my friends freaked out haha. Yeah it sucks for anyone who has glasses... |
