Went pretty crazy this year for my family, I didn't want to get cards. Got my parents an AMC gift card though since they're friends with a corporate worker, so they get into the movies for free. This will cover for snacks haha. Got my grandma an apron and she turned out to love it... which was a last minute gamble purchase. My nephew I got some Transformers and a lego set which he did, but him and my sister freaked when they unwrapped the mini SNES I got them.
Had to go to a church service Christmas Eve day with my grandma and family... it wasn't too bad though. Christmas day I drove out to my parents to hang out for the day. Helped my nephew put together an enormous car track set thing, haha. Apparently he got a mini drone... which only lasts a few minutes before you have to charge it. Played a bunch of random SNES stuff with him off and on. Mom and sister cooked some good stuff, but my entire family are now vegetarian and my mom vegan, so the green bean casserole and whatnot was definitely different... lol. I didn't get any meat either! Oh well, still had an awesome meal and great time. I'm SO glad nobody turned on A Christmas Story or Elf. I'm so sick of those. Glad I pretty much never heard any Christmas music anywhere either, haha. Somehow dodged it this year. |

The weather has been super wacky here too for sure. Finally dropped down to below 20's the other night but I think it's warming back up to the 40's tomorrow. And cue my allergies and sleep being messed up because of the shifts.

What my friends and I loved doing with the custom levels, was make everything enclosed. So there were ceilings and walls everywhere, but we'd place a few holes around so people can eventually get launched out when we were at like 300% haha. It was so goofy but good times.

I've actually noticed that bending forwards, as if you were working to stretch your lower back touching your toes, it also helps my neck and head a lot. I'm guessing since that gets some blood rushing up in there and moves some things around. Then slowly roll up neck relaxed and all.
How many posters do you have hanging up? |

Sorry to hear Elara, glad you still got to see some family though. Are you at least getting some holiday pay and whatnot?
On a brighter note... I really want some ginger bread cookies now. I think that's the one little holiday snack I missed this time around. |

That's a good one... I've been at a loss for the last several years now. Especially when dubstep really took off and even took over trailers, etc. I can't think of any mainstream modern artist I like or know much about. It's bizarre how society worships a bunch of artists that are either ancient or passed away for years at this rate. We're never going to have some icon like Michael Jackson or whatnot ever again, if that makes sense. Nobody right now is going to be remembered 10 years from now or whatever. lol
Do you or have you ever played any instruments? |

I've been pretty happy with Hyvee's own brand of almond milk for a few years now. Not sure if that's out Westcoast though. I did So Delicious coconut milk for a few years but it seemed to get worse and worse over time... even got consistently cloudy, that's freaking nasty to pour over your cereal. Almost milk seems way more consistent.
I've been big on coffee over the last few years since I got a data entry job, haha. So yeah I kind of finally realized, since I'm a sucker for fancy mixed coffee blends but stay away from dairy normally, I should look into the alternatives for coffee too. Definitely happy with this Califia brand. I just wish there were some options at my work in the vending machines. It's just a bunch of Starbucks stuff. |

I'd take a year off from there at least.
Lots of problems at one of the last standing big local malls around here thesedays too. |

I honestly love Ramen thesedays for some reason... I grew up eating the chicken flavor all the time but I only like beef now. Dash in some pink salt, pepper, the seasoning, and toss in some lettuce, maybe with some lunch meat too... and it turns into a solid meal. I still wonder if it's healthier than frozen meals too, haha. Even though I know all those preservatives are bad.

Sadly I've bean eating fast food a little again, haha. Arby's is right around the block from my place so it's easy to grab on the way home... and I have a bunch of Steak & Shake gift cards for some reason. On that note, I don't know if it's just the local one here or what, but their fries are terrible! Good burgers though. I've noticed dark soda really messes me up though, even though I drink coffee these past few years... so I guess it's something to do with the syrupy crap and sugar, rather than caffeine (unless soda just had 100x more than dark coffee even?) So I just stick with sprite, but I rarely even finish a full soft drink thesedays. You can even feel the sugar and junk between your teeth! Nothing really soothing about it. I'm finally trying to branch out a bit from Stouffers frozen meals... I've upgraded to getting some Marie Callender's meals lately and those are pretty awesome. Now I've fallen into a trend of getting some McDonald's breakfast after my Sunday morning grocery run since it's on the way home... but I've also been on a Dunkin Donuts kick Saturday mornings thesedays too... and sometimes might pickup a few extra donuts for a snack at other points in the weekend, lol. Well that was a lot... What's your favorite donut?

No pics, but I've been doing a triple monitor battle station for a few years now. Only two monitors though, the third screen being my 50" HDTV! So Steam Big Picture mode works out nicely with that, or watching anime/etc. My secondary monitor is a classic Dell Ultrasharp 201FP I think... so it's one of the last 4:3 business models, it even has S-Video! But yeah I just mainly use it for watching Twitch or whatnot.

I have a Buffalo SNES USB gamepad for my classic emulation needs and then just use an Xbox One and PS4 controller for some modern stuff. Anything keyboard wise I'll just play on my main monitor, finally got a 1080p ASUS last year. I have a 5-1 HDMI switcher, so on my TV right now I have a PS2 (with an HDMI upscaler adapter), PS3, PS4, Xbox (Component), Wii U, and Switch all hooked up at once. I have a 40" in my living room, a 32" in my closest, and a ~20" CRT stashed in some corner too. lol

Have heard nothing but awesome things about the Super Broly movie. But I'm so accustomed to the Japanese voices now, I'll wait for the subs. It's doing gangbusters in Japan and now in the US, for an anime movie... so I think a continuation of Super is all but guaranteed at this point! Toei's going to want that money... DBZ's still got it! |

No regrets Elara! I hope you land somewhere better and don't look back.

I still get a little giddy when I think about how I walked out on CVS a few years ago... it's fascinating to think of where I am now and none of this wouldn't have happened if I didn't step through the fire of fear and nerves quitting that hellhole. I had a really bad data entry job for 6 months at some point after that too, but once I get my next annual raise in a few months I will be doing really well again alongside one of the most casual and best jobs I've ever had for the last three years. Definitely not gloating... I hope my experience is just an example of how risks can really work out in the end sometimes.

It seems ridiculous and both sides are at fault. Really just need to make a compromise and get these workers paid again. Meanwhile yeah, the people at top arguing back and forth about the wall or whatever continue to happily get their paychecks without a worry in the world. Ugh!

Longest shutdown in history as it stands.

I'm not surprised. Not sure if you knew this, but Toriyama himself worked on this like he did with Super! So it's great that Broly is now an actual character with a better backstory. Toriyama had nothing to do with the old movies and honestly, if you go back and watch the original Broly trilogy... they are really bad. Even Vegeta gets out of character in the first one and literally "gives up", going on about how worthless they are against Broly. That's so not-Vegeta! |

Thanks for the info Rogue, I can see how you'd have some good details on this stuff living a bit closer to the situation. I'm not against the wall myself, but getting border control better equipment seems like a much easier and faster solution.

I asked one of my friends who has a government job if this was effecting him and he completely ignored it, then we just kept talking about games and stuff like usual. Was kind of weird... but I assume he's been fine and was getting paid. |
