The only problem I see with Sony is that nearly all there games are either shooting, action or driving. Yes they do have about 15 rpg games too which I like but the rest kinda get boring after a while.

I mean GTA:VC was almost GTA3 just with slightly updated graphics, bigger area to move around in and different missions. All the original GTA games where the same top-down view with same kinds of missions just with different and more cars to steal/nick/hijack/whatever you want to call it. Same with their FPS games, they all feature the same weapons just with different looks. The only FPS game I really truely got into was Timesplitters series, and that is only because I couldn't find the Gamecube versions of it.

Nintendo won't face the end of their day for a LONG time yet. The only trouble is that there aren't AS MANY of these shooters, driving and action games for their consoles, but they focus on a wider age group and more different genres of games rather than the late teens to early adult age with only 3 or 4 genres (When they tried to get games with other genres, they were all blown out of the water by Sony's other games, so they were considered crap by most people) like Sony. If I was four now I'd hate my mum if she got me a PS2 because all she'd let me get to play would be things like rayman (which I find rubbish). Plus I don't like the idea of Sonic Team working with Nintendo, as I reckon it will end up them leaving with loads of money, going back to Sega saying "look we got a load of money, we give you this, and we make a new console to get Nintendo off the market, we get loads more money, we get pay rises and we become the best console -D"

Also, Nintendo take care in there products, and Sony rushes theirs to keep up. That's the reason for the shoddy hardware Sony produces (console wise that is, the TVs and VCRs and DVD players they do are fine to me) and that's the reason I still have a NES that's still working perfectly, but my PS1 broke 2 years after I got it, just AFTER the garauntee expires

So there will be a LONG while to wait before Nintendo follows the same path as Sega

Well I wouldn't have said N64 had a small variety of games, as I have about 50 including RPGs, FPSs, strategies, puzzles (I love playing Tetrisphere), the platformer, adventure and action games (Mario 64 and Zelda OoT).

There was a lot of choice for the N64, but i do agree that the GameCube doesn't really have games that would make you want to get it unless you particularly like the games for it (Mario Sunshine and Wind Waker were the reasons for me getting one mainly)

But really it's the same with Sony, as I can't think of a game that would make you particularly buy a PS2, except maybe FFX. That's why XBox is a very popular console, with the (in my opinion) second best FPSs out there, Halo and Halo 2 (Timesplitters 1,2 and 3 are my favourite)

The reason I have never liked Sega that much is because of the Sonic games. So far I have not seen one of the games that has Sonic as the main character (Shadow the Hedgehog looks briliant) were way to easy. Most of the levels were basically just keeping hold of the right button, with springs and high elevated areas completing the level for you. Nintendo's Mario games have always had some form of hard work having to be done at some point in each level (besides level 4-1 in SMB1, the level i can complete in 19 seconds ). Especially when the UK Nintendo Official Magazine had a top 100 games, with only one sonic game there being number 51, Mario 64 at number 4, forgotten number 3, All the pokemon games at split second, Zelda OoT at number 1, the best game of all time

Although with me I don't really care about the games on the console... the reason I now have a GameCube, PS2 and XBox... I'll probably have the three new consoles by the end of 2006-early 2007

I think you'll be waiting a LONG LONG time for a XBox 350... unless they rename it to 350 at the last minute (and yes I do realize it was most likely a typo)

Fine ill use an example from another smaller games mag, GamesMaster or something like that but in an older issue they did roughly the same thing and two sonic games were around the 30-35 mark, while the same three Nintendo games I've mentioned were in 4-10 mark. although three two and one were Halo 2, this racing game and another PS2 only game

Erm... the games were voted on by game players across the UK, not by the 6 people who work on both mags

ARENA - An infinite stretch of permafrost icy plain. there are large holes that go down forever, and cracks that fire blasts of icy air, causing haevy ice damage

(ooc: I hope you don't use Jaques... I've had enough of him)

*Sanigen seems to sit in a small dip in the ice. sits there, muttering under his breath illegible words, as if he was sleeping. As his sense tells him his challenger has finally arrived, he instantly wakes and jumps about 6 metres into the air to wake himself up. He stands with his father's adamantine sword clutched tightly in his hands, slight blisters starting to form from the cold, waiting for his challenger to appear*

"DS -
Touch Screen
Shoulder Button use with Touch Screen
Recycled games"

Touch screen is a good idea. It opens out a better variety of games (especially puzzles like polarium, mr. driller and zoo keeper), and Wario Ware games are SO MUCH FUCKING BETTER WITH IT! I remember having to use the controller for the wario wares on the GC and GBA... urgh...

The shoulder buttons are only a problem if a game NEEDS them both to play. Mario 64 DS doesn't, Rayman doesn't, even Metroid Prime doesn't, as that game has the option to use just the joypad and the ABXY buttons, instead of the touch screen

What do you mean recycled games?

Also, from your DS Pros, you forgot that most DS games allow single cart multiplayer . N64 graphics are better and faster than PS1. I hate it having a cart for saving... ive heard that some people had problems when playing fighting games that they got a bit rough and they kept opening the mem card holder. Even GBA will soon will/is already (not sure which, I don't know when or if the Play-San or whatever it is called has came out in america yet) be able to play Music and videos. Music playing is what an MP3 player is for.

I've also noticed you put touch screen in pros AND cons... why?

Posted on 05-23-05 09:55 AM, in The Bermuda Triangle Link
In our school assembely this morning, we had a small talk on un explained events etc. and the main point was the Burmuda (sp?) Triangle. Anyone have any ideas why boats, ships, submarines and even aeroplanes suddenly disappear?

One of my ideas is that I've heard satellites have picked up a tiny island somewhere in the center, about as big as my house just about. I believe that underneath the island is a large place where Area 51 could be. This is why ships disappear. Nothing can get far in enough to see what happens because specially trained ops can shoot them down without anyone seeing why or what has happened to keep the roswell incident covered...

Anyway, what are your views on the subject?

Also, is that playing time or leaving it on doing nothing?

And Area 51 was supposed to be top secret. If it was in plain view of satelite photos it wouldn't be very well hidden would it?
