I don't even care that one in three marriages are pretty much destined to fail. It's just the fact that in this day and age marriage shouldn't have any form of laws regarding it, considering we no longer live in a Christian controlled society. True, that's pretty much my entire knowledge of British history, but whatever, I'm trying to make a point here!

Religion and law need to be seperated, badly. Not everyone believes in religion, and isn't required to, yet everyone must obey the law. To put religious beliefs into law forces religious ideas onto people, and people should be entitled to their own ideas and beliefs.
EDIT: Of course, the opposite can be said, that people who are against gay marriage are entitled to that belief, and sure, you are, but you shouldn't use those beliefs in ways to restrict the actions of people of the opposite school of thinking.

Gay marriage seriously doesn't hurt everyone, and it seems as though people think that if gay marriage is allowed, everyone is gonna turn gay and the entire human race will have died out by the next generation. However, it just so happens a large amount of people are heterosexual too, and will perform the procreation part of marriage.

Then again, I have issues with couples having to be married to have sex and children too. All marriage does is allow the people in the relationship more rights than they would have got without it i.e. custody (or really ownership) of the children.

On polygamy: Again, if people want that kind of relationship, so be it.
On marriage: Pointless in current day society, my point being it's just a way for religion to continue to control a society, really the way I see a lot of religion at the moment. It's like how Christianity had hold of British society until about the 1600s. Thank you Henry VIII for rescuing us from forced religion!

From what I've heard, it's only been confirmed for the PS3 now.

I hope they don't pull ANOTHER Haze. Even though it was a bad game, it could have been a bad game on three consoles instead of just one.

I've also heard this one won't have much of a story mode. If Wikipedia is to be believed, they're focusing heavily on the multiplayer.

Which will be fucking gay.

And yeah, 1 was proper difficult.

Also, even though 3 had the best campaign, the best campaign LEVEL has to be Siberia in TS2... So much effort put into it, with all the different enemy models (It uses all the different sergeants, lieutenants and most of the zombie models), the general design of the level was awesome... No way will they ever better it.

But marriage is unnessecary to perform everything you said. A couple can live together without having to be married, and could happily live their whole lives together. All marriage does is make it slightly more difficult to split up if the partners feel they made a bad decision.

Maybe the law saying the woman is forced to have the kids if not married should be taken away, since it's technically sexist.

And surely if a permanent relationship REQUIRES a legal document that says "If this doesn't work out, we've made it difficult to seperate, and means I can load you with the kids and get half your stuff." Surely this breaks a big trust that is generally required in such a relationship.

Good job I got to this thread as you asked that, since you've already seen me do that very thing over webcam.

Now before you claim to hate hip hop and turn away from this thread, hear me out. I'm not a big fan of what most would consider mainstream hip hop, but these guys truly do break the mould.

Scroobius Pip's lyrics are so inspiring and clever, and Dan Le Sac's beats are amazing. They're both British, which adds to their awesomeness.

Very few of his raps are proper raps, where most seem to be just spoken poems with a beat behind them, but they compliment each other incredibly well.

I think it helps that the man known as Scroobius Pip is a poet, or so I believe, with his knowledge of old poetry and such, where his name comes from in fact.

But yeah, if you think you don't like hip hop, at least give these guys a listen. I recommend 'Angles' and 'Letter From God to Man', they're my favourites so far.

Unofficial 'Letter From God to Man' video because the official one isn't as good in my opinion, even though it's a little more complex than this one.

Angles music with a picture of something...

Official 'The Beat That My Heart Skipped' video

Official 'Thou Shalt Always Kill' video

Yet I can bet any money that it's working because a whole bunch of idiots will not actually look into the problem, and will only watch these two adverts for their sources of information.

What's next? Teaching of the theory of evolution in schools? We can't let mere theories take over the only true science on the subject, Intelligent Design!

"The Communications Data Bill (2008) will lead to the creation of a single, centralized database containing records of all e-mails sent, websites visited and mobile phones used by UK citizens. In a carnivore-on-steroids programme, as all vestiges of communication privacy are stripped away, The BBC reports that Home Secretary Jacqui Smith says this is a 'necessity'."

Taken from here, courtesy of FX for sending me the link.

I really don't know what to think. At first I Was furious that they would even think of making such a database, although further reading on the BBC link said that no content of the calls or emails will be stored, just time and location sent and received...

But still, even information like that is really digging into he standard person's privacy. As far as I know, things like phonecalls and emails aren't used that much in British crime. It's generally some guy beats up/knifes/runs over another accidentally/in self defence/while drunk/on purpose. It just annoys me that such a database, to my own knowledge anyway, will do little to help towards solving crime, which seems to be the reason such a database has even been concieved.

And also, what's next? If it's alright to save the date and location of emails and phonecalls, what's the say in a couple of years they'll try to pass something which lets them listen in to random conversations? Then later they pass legislation which allows all messages to be recorded? The whole point is it's supposed to protect me, I understand that, but it shouldn't strike me with fear as well.

One thing I never get about these Mac vs PC things is that the Mac is always shown as a casual guy, where as the PC is always shown as an office worker.

Now I have a PC (Three in fact), and two of them pretty much only get used for games, and the other one is only used lightly for school work and story writing, the rest of the time it's used to play games too. Surely a game player would seem more casual than someone who likes to arrange their photo albums prettily and edit movies with a programme only slightly better than Windows Movie Maker...

The thing is, I hate how it's like a distrust by our government. Like, I know I've got nothing to hide, but I still hate the idea that I can be tracked by my mobile phone. I hate how it can possibly be turned into a microphone from a remote location.

Invasion of privacy, no matter how small, is generally discomforting, even to those who are doing nothing wrong.

I like some of the other games on there, but this one's pretty funny, especially the level where the 'start' button doesn't go away straight away after clicking it. Didn't catch me out, but it did catch out my friend.

Aw, no new pictures of Simon Pegg's character?

Never been particularly interested in the Star Trek series, although I've heard some people say the films are better. This one interests me too, even if it's just because Simon Pegg's in it. xD

I get so annoyed looking at the specs of computers on American websites and seeing you get so much more for the same price. A PC that costs a grand in dollars there would probably cost me about 800 to a grand in pounds here.

My question is this: Does anyone know any American sites that accept payment from and will ship to England? I know postage of such things will be expensive, but I'm sure there'd still be a huge saving in comparison.

My issue with this game. I never liked Oblivion.

I quite happily got through the training part of this game. The MOMENT I set foot bleary eyed into the bloomed up outdoors, everything I hated about Oblivion smacked me straight in the face.

Massive, samey outside, awkward to navigate towns (although in this case it's even worse)... The only thing that justifies these is the setting, so such things are understandable and forgivable, to a point.

There's also being able to get through the main storyline without leveling up at all, meaning side quests can become more difficult than the main quest. A friend tells me it's the same thing here.

Attacks seem to have a hit chance, which seems pointless in realtime combat. I want my headshots to kill in one like any other shooter, not be bogged down by JRPG style level and attribute systems that make them only do more damage than normal.

Melee combat is clunky, even moreso when using the VACS thing or whatever the abbreviation is. I expected something where you character would be very fluent in his/her animation, rather than three or four separate attacks which are nothing spectacular, slowed down to half speed.

Silent protagonist, despite having communication options.

So as you can tell, I didn't enjoy it. I'll just stick to Far Cry 2, Dead Space and Saint's Row for now.

On a somewhat related subject:

This guy's talking about how God spoke to him, telling him to warn everyone about homosexuality and lust sins, and to help you get over them.

I got four minutes in, and came up with this:

Gays are born that way – Spoken in a ‘obviously untrue’ tone – Actual evidence over this yet to be discovered.

Lusts/addiction unnatural – If it wasn’t natural, it wouldn’t exist.

“I’ll tell you the truth” – Talking from the perspective of an unproven religious zealot who thinks all people who believe in evolution believe that we came from the rocks and salt water. Needs to open his own eyes a little and delving further into other’s beliefs before bashing them.

Can’t see the germs on your hand, the air, electricity, microwaves etc. – All can be detected in some way other than a ‘sixth sense’ which seems to be how God communicates, a sense which I personally have never had tickled, not noticeably anyway.

Asking god... Firmly I think? – Why does a God who loves us so much make himself so hidden?

Our fault for being tempted by the devil – Again, an unproven existence used to keep people in fear of doing bad.

Become lustful from seeing images constantly – Occasional surfer of 4chan, has seen a LOT of gruesome images thanks to it and other people from there, has yet to require them for sexual purposes.

Transfer of spirits – So spirits can be transferred over TV/Radio waves?

Hanging around with gay people – Personally I’ve got about five or six gay friends on my MSN list, a few of whom I do talk to regularly. I’m perfectly straight myself, and I’ve known these people for months now.

“Be careful who you hang around with” – My own lusts do not stem from hanging around with people with similar mindsets. I’m not ashamed to say I’m a macrophile, and that developed on its own from a very young age. Nothing really sparked it off, as I didn't watch many things with giants in except Honey I Shrunk the Kids and Honey I Blew up the Kid. Oh, and the BFG.

“Hang around with anime fans” – Viewing things quite critically can prevent this occurrence of “I like it ‘cause they like it.” Personally, I’ve only liked three animes, two of which due to recommendations by anime fans. Another twenty recommendations fell flat as I didn’t like them.”

If I've managed to overcome defending gay rights, talk to gay people and combined that with everything else up there, I think it's safe to say that, in my case anyway, I'm not just gay because I know/talk to gay people.

I'd like to think I'm straight anyway, considering I've only been attracted to members of the opposite sex.

Tetris: The Movie

Thing is, I like a lot of movie based films, and I rarely enjoy the games based off films.

I liked the Resident Evil trilogy, I liked the Silent Hill movie, I even enjoyed Super Mario Bros movie. Maybe I'm affected too much by nostalgia, but meh.
